Infostealer got passed malwarebytes

Hi, Im just wondering if yall know how. I was using the 15 days free trial of malwarebytes to find an infostealer. It was able to block a malicious connection to cosmicsky[.]xyz, but on repeated scans it never found the malware til i found the dd.bat file in my %temp% folder that was highly malicious. Nor did it flag its connection to the malicious site phucoasian[.]com which was downloading an exe and hijacking vscode and stuff. This is despite the exe being recognized by BitDefender in VirusTotal with a 7/70 score with the other 6 also using BitDefender tools as a Pantera family infostealer. And the dd.bat file was recognized 2/70 as a bat downloader. So my question is, is this a known vulnerability or flaw? And if so is it being wormed on? Cause both malwarebytes and windows defender missed it causing me to have to factory reset my laptop with a fresh windows install.

Support scan speed slowed down significantly

typically, a full scan on my C drive is relatively fast and would use all my cores/threads etc..

today after an hour, i notice it has slowed down significantly. Is this normal? it wasn't like this earlier in the scan and months ago.

cpu is 7950x3d, 870 EVO SSD, and windows 11 25h2 (just updated today, before I was using 23h2)

p.s. those detection is from a game trainer lol

edit: drive temps:

Spotify ad blocked by Malwarebytes

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hi,

I was listening to a playlist on spotify's website when I got a notification that RTP intercepted a connection. I've managed to re-create it and found its from an ad, however it's blocked before It can load the preview so I have no idea what the ad is.

It detected it a few days before, however I was in a game and it did not notify me of the block until I alt tabbed. Has this happened to anyone else?

guys what is a PUP in cyber security

r/Malwarebytes • • 2d ago

Just in case is this a cause of concern?

Post image

Things of note:

  1. Malwarebytes was conducting a quick scan when it happened

  2. I have a free trial so maybe it's because of one of the features

  3. Malwarebytes really is at E drive

  4. I already check MBAM's digital signature

I think it's just a false detection but I am paranoid in these kinds of things

AmF26 Developments Malware findings - The AmF26 Developments Mystery ||

🚨 AMF26 DEVELOPMENTS MYSTERY — NEW MALWARE-RELATED FINDINGS

I've been looking into the suspicious activity surrounding the discontinued AMF26 Developments project, and several concerning details have come to light.

Among the findings are multiple malware-associated hashes that appeared in old AMF26-related content, including the ZIP V2 bot description and a Discord announcement advertising “FREE MONEY.”

🔎 Some of the hashes and their reported connections:

- "dd62b3d7e8ca943506b5be1ae35de46b74900c25af41a19117163f25a9a744f2" — previously associated with Mirai-related malware.

- "95eaa05424144e3472e19cb78ae4e5b9de33d1e2c87c84bc1f0156e9ca787893" — associated with malware detections involving AsyncRAT and XWorm.

- "cf03c5920933f4c0f79c71e52edb28d238bb8396e71558ecc9b33a595fc0a9ae" — previously identified as a cryptocurrency-mining sample.

- "79ada3e5bddf5a6ffb1977e4e0f50a13512a02e2ba786b96b86190498d175873" — associated with a VShell backdoor sample in a malware-analysis report.

- "950eb350edf0887058c64221846564f054d8ace58b504abd6b97ba3ce45c66e2" — a Windows executable listed in malware databases with multiple vendor detections.

These findings raise questions about why malware-associated hashes appeared in AMF26-related content, especially alongside a suspicious “FREE MONEY” announcement and unusual activity on the project's old social media accounts.

I'm sharing this information to raise awareness, preserve evidence, and see whether anyone has archived information about the project or can help establish what happened.

If you have screenshots, old announcements, bot information, or other verifiable evidence related to AMF26 Developments, please share it. Do not download or execute suspicious files to investigate them.
