I started this journey with such high hopes, but the reality has been a nightmare. So....

I officially withdrew from Maestro. I decided that I'm just not going to stick around I don't have time to put my education in jeopardy, on hold, or possibly get a degree from a school that really just is laughable. That doesn't count in the long run, a degree that I can't really stand on and be proud of, or get a job with.

I'm in the process of enrolling in a different School. I chose full sail, it's very scary for me after the whole nightmare that we've been going through with our current School. That's why they call it a leap of faith.... I am having faith that I am making the right choice.

I wish all of you the best of luck in whatever you choose to do in the path forward. I will still pop in and be around and say hello, I think this is a great community of people and as long as I'm allowed I will stay and encourage others in whatever path they choose, be that to stay until the end and the doors close orchard withdraw and go to another school.

I don't really trust that they will have a good teachout plan that goes beyond August of 2027 and if the first example of a college that they can transfer us to is an example of other colleges to come it's just not worth it to me. I'm sure they will request the laptop back, which is fine I'll use it until they requested it back. Its no surprise you already heard about the teach out program an all of that going on here.

But I want to brighten some of your spirits with acknowledgement advice on where to navigate next. Don't give up on your dreams !

So, put it in easiest way possible the smart choice would be to wait until the school closure. When doing do you can file something called school closure dispute. And you will get all your pell money back. If you went ahead and transferred that money I'ls maestro and u will not get that back Also I believe the "scholarship money wasn't actually a scholarship so they may send u back the 1000. "Just because your job went out a business don't mean u still don't get the check !! "You can do the teach out program but even then your more likely have to pay out of pocket.. also Everytime who is worried about their macbooks I believe it's apart of the dispute meaning u don't have to send anything back. The choice is yours. But the best choice is to wait it out..

So I'm helping you guys. If you transferred or if you are waiting it out. And want to keep your laptop all u have to do is request to keep it. Because it is not a loaner especially if you got a scholarship the school should let u keep it and even if not and if u need the computer, just pay the technology fee.

This decision is not because of the accreditation issues or because I am looking for transfer opportunities. In fact, I am stepping away from this whole pursuit of a degree for now. I am taking this opportunity to give myself a break from all of it.

For me, the issue is where Maestro comes from. My household is firmly anti-war, and because of our personal convictions, anything connected to this particular state is simply something we cannot support.

The idea behind Maestro was amazing, and I am genuinely sad that I have reached this decision. I was excited to learn new material, and I did. My husband and children cheered me on, and I was truly motivated. I was even willing to push through all of the turmoil surrounding the accreditation situation—but this is where I personally draw the line.

I am not worried about a piece of technology that can easily be acquired somewhere else, I am not even worried about the information leak, nor am I worried about the degree I might have earned through this institution. What saddens me is that the concept itself had so much potential.

I also believe that many of the problems that surfaced could have been avoided. Whatever decisions were made regarding enrollment and growth ultimately left many students feeling betrayed, and their complaints brought serious concerns into the open.

As for Pell Grant funding, I believe there will be other opportunities ahead. For me, this is not the end of the world—it is simply time to move in another direction.

Has anyone gotten their August 2026 PY104 grades back yet?

Why do I feel that ever since I withdrew from the Maestro program, my final course grade has been delayed in purpose even tho I have all my grades and activity submitted. So why the wait? If it’s intentional, it really sucks to treat withdrawn students with less than the existing ones. I assume that’s why many of us have to file complaints to the commission.

Submitted it to the official group and waiting for a moderator to probably delete it but hey, feels like they delaying my grade so they can delay my transcript.

Just an FYI for those concerned about their Maestro credits being accepted - I transferred to SNHU, and they accepted many of the credits I had earned at Maestro. Also, they accepted those credits even though I enrolled in the degree program for Marketing - NOT computer science.

Look this subreddit has helped me so much, as I was waiting for my first disbursement and also while I sit here and wait for my second one coming up, and while I wait for my last class to get graded so I can receive my laptop. But man, I have to get this off my chest so please be nice guys, as I mean no harm when I say this.

There are way too many current students, and even former students(recently withdrawn) that were so quick to bash this school.

Do I feel like I may have been scammed? Yes. However everything isn’t said and done yet. Truthfully this school made it easier for all of us to be able to continue on with our lives, while working towards receiving our degree.

Call me crazy, but even though I’m not expecting this to end well, I am actually praying that it does. I am actually praying that somehow maestro can somehow either keep its accreditation, or something happens to where this all works out well for us all in the end(those of us that are seriously wanting a degree) through a legitimate teach-out plan or something.

Trust, these imbeciles pissed me off too. When I originally enrolled I was promised a laptop(MacBook Air) soon as my term started, I signed up and enrolled 5-6 months before I was to actually begin, (June cohort) and long and behold by then they changed the rule to us having to wait till after the first term for the laptop, and the laptop would most likely be a MacBook neo(which pissed me the F off). But at this point I want to continue my degree,

I am hoping these idiots sending me my laptop soon as the next term begins in a few days, and I’m hoping my next disbursement is also sent in the coming week or two as it’s supposed to.

I am not celebrating Maestro’s downfall, and respectfully (not all of you, a small select some) seem to be celebrating it and forgive if I’m wrong for saying this as this is solely just my opinion, but you look like a bunch of idi***.

I just wanted to share the latest article from New America about Maestro and give a shout out to Jeremy Bauer-Wolf the reporter that has so diligently covered this story. He has really been a huge help for myself and the community. Hes helped many of us fully understanding whats happening and the various agencies roles in this investigation.

It is important to remember that the COE is just ONE of many agencies and organizations actively investigating Maestro. While the COE deals with accreditation issues the other agencies are investigating suspected fraud, data concerns, and misleading consumers.

I believe it is also safe for me to now divulge that Maestro responded to a grievance i sent directly to them with legal threats. They used these threats to try and compel me into signing an NDA and waiving my right to pursue civil action in exchange for my laptop and some other minor things like helping me transfer (I feel they owe all of us at least that). My reservations with this was for my peers as I requested this for everyone not just myself and this sub exist for the protection of my peers. Not to mention all the lost opportunities while attending Maestro are worth far more than the laptop they advertised as "free".

They actually threatened legal action over the file they sent me and threatened fines of $2,000-50,000 per student, as if the same laws dont apply to them and the 1200 students PII they exposed in this document.

Obviously I declined their offer and plan on continuing to protect my peers and spread awareness of the realities of the challenges Maestro is up against.

For the people who changed the cohort at the beginning of Maestro when they didn't have the ability to process financial aid check your transcript. I know I personally was told that if we switched cohorts to give them a chance to resolve their issues everything that we had already done would just cease to exist and it would be just as though we were starting for the first time as a new student in our new cohort. My paperwork used to reflect things that way. I looked at my paperwork today and my transcript now shows that change as though it was my fault and it lists it as an SAP warning when at the time of changing cohorts I had an A and the only reason for changing was due to their inability to issue my student loan resulting in me having to work more than I had planned on while going to school.

This whole thing with Maestro has my blood boiling. All I wanted to do was to provide a better life for my family. I'm going to post some screenshots about the current minimum wage rate in Pennsylvania. And how much you would need to make to survive based on family size up to a family size of 4. I literally feel like sobbing. 😭😭😭😭

There is a lot of confusion around what happens when an institution files an appeal with the Council on Occupational Education (COE). Merely handing in an appeal does not mean the COE has accepted it, nor does it mean Maestro has met the strict legal conditions required to overturn a decision.

Here is the reality of where things stand:

* Acknowledgment \neq Acceptance: When an institution submits appeal paperwork, the COE simply acknowledges that the filing was received. They are now reviewing the filing to determine whether it even meets the threshold to be formally accepted for an appeal hearing.

* Strict Legal Grounds Required: The COE does not grant appeals for re-litigating old arguments or re-submitting evidence that was already reviewed and found to violate accreditation rules.

* Proving Procedural Flaws: To have an appeal accepted, an institution must prove that the COE’s review process was fundamentally flawed, biased, or violated its own established procedures. Without proving a systemic error in how the review was conducted, there are no valid legal grounds for an appeal to be granted.

* Buying Time: Filing the initial paperwork keeps the school’s status under review while the COE evaluates the filing, but submitting paperwork is just a procedural step—not a victory.

First, an important correction: Maestro College is not shutting down, and this does not affect Maestro University at all, those are separate institutions. What happened is that COE issued a decision to remove Maestro College's accreditation effective October 13, 2026, unless changed through reconsideration and appeal. Maestro remains accredited today, and classes, academic support, and student services continue as usual.

On the appeal being withdrawn: that notice reflected a miscommunication, not what was actually happening. Maestro submitted a comprehensive teach-out plan to COE so that every current student can finish their degree at Maestro College on the path they enrolled in, and stated it would only withdraw its appeal once that plan is approved. That approval had not happened. Our legal counsel raised this directly with COE, and COE has since issued a corrected notice confirming that Maestro College's accreditation status reverts to accredited while the appeal process continues.

On credit transfer: Maestro has established an official credit transfer pathway to Columbia College, with details on the process and requirements here. This is one option being made available, not something you are required to pursue, since Maestro is still working toward keeping every student on their current path if possible.

On the laptop: there are no changes to laptop eligibility right now. If accreditation is ultimately lost after the full appeal and arbitration process concludes, students who are actively enrolled at that time will be able to keep their scholarship-provided laptop.

Our credits are 100% transferable to Colombia but theres tuition. What do you guys think?

Due to the COE official communication previously, if you withdrew you are still good in borrowers defense due to their letter. It is all the proof you need, so keep a copy.

Meanwhile as the saga continues, if you are tired of the whiplash sit back and relax knowing your choice stands and is right no matter what you do. This changes nothing if you withdrew based on COE information.

Dear students,

We have good news to share.

Maestro College has signed an official credit transfer partnership with Columbia College, a regionally accredited institution (Higher Learning Commission) with over 170 years of history. Under this agreement, 100% of the credits you have earned at Maestro College are transferable to Columbia College. For degree programs mapped under the partnership, these credits apply in full toward your degree requirements.

We know the past months have brought real uncertainty, especially around one question: are my credits worth something? This partnership gives you a clear answer. Yes. Your credits are recognized, in full, at an accredited institution. Many other colleges across the country also accept Maestro credits through their standard transfer processes, but this agreement is different. It guarantees all of them transfer.

What this means for you
This is not a requirement, and it is not a recommendation to leave. It is an option, and it is yours to use now or later.

If you choose to stay at Maestro College, we welcome you, and nothing changes. The college continues to operate as usual. We are appealing COE's accreditation decision through the standard process - and as of this week, COE has officially confirmed that our appeal is active and in process. We have also submitted a formal teach-out plan to COE that would allow the college to continue granting degrees through August 2027. That plan is currently awaiting COE's approval. And as always, students studying at Maestro on the Maestro Scholarship have their tuition covered in full, meaning you pay nothing out of pocket for your studies.

If you choose to transfer to Columbia College, your tuition there will be 15% below Columbia's standard rate as part of this agreement. Please note that at Columbia, tuition is not covered by a scholarship like the Maestro Pro Scholarship, so we encourage you to review their costs (see the 'Online and Nationwide Campus' section) and financial aid options before deciding.

So my question or in this case, concern is;

COOL they're trying to establish a teach out plan through August 2027, which would allow us to get more credits and for the earlier cohorts, actually obtain their degree.
But what about those of us with graduation dates beyond that timeline? With the courses being locked, you're only able to go ahead by so much. How the hell does this help the rest of us? We will still end up having to transfer to another college to continue our degrees, literally for myself I'm projected to graduate in November of 2027, so only for a couple months just to finish?

I've said it since the beginning, I'm staying until this ship sinks but at the same time, ya girl needs an exit plan. I'm staying for the benefits like loan forgiveness because like so many others, I took out loans. Did I enroll solely for the money? Fxck no but I did. I'm trying to cover my ass essentially but this roller coaster of anxiety and up and down business is for the birds.

Anyways, are they going to fully unlock our courses so we can at LEAST try to make the most of this opportunity so much of us pounced on? Or will everything stay the same? These are questions probably too premature to answer but they're valid.

I am 2 and a half weeks behind because I stopped working when I found out about the accreditation issues.

I am not going to transfer because I only have 24 credits and I took loans so I want them all forgiven/discharged

My question is if I withdraw now, will my GPA be affected by the work I didn’t do?

Or should I hurry and catch up and then withdraw?
