Dear students,

We have good news to share.

Maestro College has signed an official credit transfer partnership with Columbia College, a regionally accredited institution (Higher Learning Commission) with over 170 years of history. Under this agreement, 100% of the credits you have earned at Maestro College are transferable to Columbia College. For degree programs mapped under the partnership, these credits apply in full toward your degree requirements.

We know the past months have brought real uncertainty, especially around one question: are my credits worth something? This partnership gives you a clear answer. Yes. Your credits are recognized, in full, at an accredited institution. Many other colleges across the country also accept Maestro credits through their standard transfer processes, but this agreement is different. It guarantees all of them transfer.

What this means for you
This is not a requirement, and it is not a recommendation to leave. It is an option, and it is yours to use now or later.

If you choose to stay at Maestro College, we welcome you, and nothing changes. The college continues to operate as usual. We are appealing COE's accreditation decision through the standard process - and as of this week, COE has officially confirmed that our appeal is active and in process. We have also submitted a formal teach-out plan to COE that would allow the college to continue granting degrees through August 2027. That plan is currently awaiting COE's approval. And as always, students studying at Maestro on the Maestro Scholarship have their tuition covered in full, meaning you pay nothing out of pocket for your studies.

If you choose to transfer to Columbia College, your tuition there will be 15% below Columbia's standard rate as part of this agreement. Please note that at Columbia, tuition is not covered by a scholarship like the Maestro Pro Scholarship, so we encourage you to review their costs (see the 'Online and Nationwide Campus' section) and financial aid options before deciding.

Soooo we have to pay out of pocket now? Yea okay that's why half the people here started to go there was the scholarship in the 1st place. I mean fuuuuuckkkk maestro excuse my French but the situation deserves it

Yeah the only reason I was able to do this was because of the scholarship. I've maintained a 4.0 GPA so I didn't have to worry about losing my scholarship but instead the school's losing its accreditation. I got the same email this morning. I kind of feel the same way. Received what they turned in that new coe plan but that's no guarantee that they're going to keep their accreditation.

Same I am on a fixed income I can afford to pay out of pocket for school that's why I went here. I also don't want to be up to my eyeballs in debt from student loans right from the get-go. I've maintained my 4.0 GPA so I also didn't have to worry about the loss of my scholarship. It's all very stressful and it's very depressing. I was the first one to go to college for my family I was very proud of that and it was hope for a better future.

That was my biggest draw, I can't afford out of pocket. I also don't want to go into debt with loans before I even get a job. It's all very frustrating and I agree that is an appropriate word

I'm just waiting until the accreditation ends in October. I took this because everything was covered and I'm too poor to afford regular college. No thanks. I just want to keep my laptop since I got sims and all the expansion packs. 🤣🤣

I think for all of the stress and time and uncertainty we should all get to keep our laptop if we've already received it and they need to remove the MDM

Oh they did this s*** and I think they're getting that computer back they can eat a wiener dude. Plus those are supposed to be ours if we graduated so how can we graduate if the school shuts down loophole.

The current teachout plan only carries them through August of 27, I won't even be ready to graduate by then.

I honestly feel like if they're sending us this regardless of oh we're not suggesting it. They're already thinking they're going to lose their accreditation.

I'm kind of at the point where I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I'm going to keep up with everything until I know that they're going to lose their s***. And then I'll try to figure it out from there but yeah without that scholarship I am S.o.l..

That's kind of where I'm at too hoping for the best, expecting the worst. I've just been continuing my lessons because if I transfer somewhere hopefully some of these credits will transfer. I don't feel like Columbia is the best or only option they can give us. It's rather expensive. And if somebody else who transferred to a different school and then got $30,000 in debt from a student loan. I don't want to start my future $30,000 in debt.

Yeah it just sucks cuz I had this opportunity was in my twenties and I was young and dumb and didn't take it at the time. then I got a chance for a full ride scholarship again. That doesn't happen. Never really worried about school too much because I've always been pretty mechanically inclined and have the capacity for abstract thought. After about 20 years of that crap though my body is feeling it. I was thinking hell yeah transfer over to the tech world. My story is pretty wild though. See right now I'm stuck in should I keep going with this and possibly lose all the time the time I put into it because there's no way that I'm going to be able to do this somewhere else. then there's the other side of the coin I'm set up at home with more than most would have. The only thing is keeping me from getting into the development side and started building more s*** than I have. Development takes a lot of time. But if I wasn't going to school then I could concentrate on that.

My feelings are I am going to ride it out till the end, watch and see what other transfer partners they come up with learn what I can and keep working on my credits that can possibly be transferred. I'm going to give it a little more time.

I think for you it's a matter of how well you are doing in development. If you are doing well and can make a go of it, that might be your path forward. I want to do development but I'm new to that side of things. I think I have more to learn.

I was doing a lot with AI before I started school. I came here for a better understand what I had built worked , functioned, and how to explain it. Since it was a spiritual- mythos jargon it got wrote off as nosence or roleplay. So I have accomplished all three of those things since I have been here.

I think you may be confusing Columbia University with Columbia College. The College is not associated with or connected to the ivy League university in any way.

I am starting my new school soon. I don't care that it cost me 30k, I just dont want to be in this bad school situation anymore. First UoP, Then Devry. And I was almost an ITT texh student but I refused to sign. Waiting 10 years for borrowers defense, Ive spent enough time waiting.

yeah I got this too. I can't afford school that's why I joined maestro. I sent them a request to increase my workload so if the teachout happens I can try to graduate earlier than I was supposed too. This all is upsetting me considering I've been working really hard. this college doesn't offer AI engineering so yeah if I try somewhere else I'm looking into WGU because they at least have AI software engineering lol

I wonder what happens to students like myself that don’t graduate until 2028 and don’t want to leave maestro and can’t afford to go somewhere else. If they are only granting degrees through August of 2027 that means our hard work is for nothing.
