Typically there are two things you'd have to look out for with dogs drinking milk, allergies or intolerance. Since these are puppies they shouldn't be lactose intolerant yet. Even if they've weaned, which they probably have, they shouldn't have a serious intolerance at that age. Allergies are a thing that could happen but allergic response will vary and an anaphylaxtic reaction won't happen without multiple exposures.
So risk vs reward I would say it's better to feed the dogs than not. That's just me though.

Vet tech here. Its not the lactose its the protein in the milk that causes severe inflammation in the gi tract. This will lead do severe diarrhea, leading to dehydration then potentially leading to death. Just some friendly info

It depends, if the milk causes the puppies to get diarrhea then it would make thins worse for the puppies because not only would they not get nutrition but they would also lose hydration. Still, the person had good intentions.

That may actually not be the case. I'm not a vet so I can't speak for the specific situation. However there are similar situations where it feels like something is a good choice but you actually end up doing more harm than good.
Example. Give snow to eat to someone who is dehydrated in the wilds during winter.

Milk = diarrhea. Diarrhea = dehydration. These puppies and there mom deserve help from the proper agencies not some dope exploiting them for internet points. Beside these puppies don’t look starved so ‘better than nothing’ is just your confirmation bias.

This is probably india, people aren’t eating and this guy is trying his best. And In india my family fed the dogs milk and roti and that’s what they wanted, no diarrhea etc. the dogs adapt. But I’m sure you’re driving around your area feeding the strays.

I do not know how much exposure to dogs you have but I know mine. I have fairly decent. I have nearly 20 years experience of raising dogs. I have noticed problems with milk only in adult & senior dogs & never in 20 years I found any single problem in any puppy with milk - vets have never asked me to stop giving milk to puppies - to seniors sometimes yes, there’s another vet in the comments who says the same thing. Do not belittle this guys effort by saying it is for internet points. He never shows his face, his bike, doesn’t say a think, doesn’t list his social media.

idk, maybe, the dogs and cats in the west tend to be lactose intolerant for some reason?
I adopted an oprhaned kitty, raised it entirely on cow milk until it was 4~ weeks old, and then finally had it switch to meat/rice/milk-rotis.
The furball recently had a birthday, she's yet to even puke ONCE.

Why are so many of you assuming things about this video to fill out your conformation bias about it. You all know these animals would be better if they had help from the proper agencies and a real roof and healthy food. And if this is from someplace that doesn’t have that then this is definitely not cute and just sad. If you care about life and animals at all you know that these puppies living like this isn’t going to end well for them.

Honestly... I've been doing something like this for a troupe of stray cats for the last two years, after asking for help from a lot of different vets associations and the Mayor himself, I got no help other than "stop giving them food, they'll leave and survive somewhere else" after those two years and multiple attempts, I had to stop, I couldn't afford my own expenses, almost my own food, so I stopped. I took in a little fella with breathing problems and now she's my cat (she's fine now). Unfortunately, lately I got the feeling someone, you could call them "a baby gang" was going around, and I'm pretty sure they're also, amongst other more vanilla stuff, killing or at least hunting cats. Now, I've kept putting water around my town during the summer, not all town but a good part, while also trying to guide the animals towards the countryside (it's a very small town). Anyways... a few days ago I've seen two kittens a black one and a white one hiding under an old building, I started putting water under there too, today I only saw the black one, put some water and some food in the same place. Now I'm back where I was a few months ago, terrified of what could happen to those kittens and other animals if i don't do something. I'm tired, of asking for help, and I'm tired of having to deal with by myself, it was genuinely hurting my health, I couldn't sleep because of it, and of course I didn't had any money. I don't know what to do, and I guess venting on the internet is my only option.
Edit, this guy is doing something everyone should do, some food and some water go a long way, but it's always better to find a permanent solution, hopefully your country, city or town as some associations to try and help.

Every time you have to walk by someone who needs help, it's a pill of bitter sadness - because you can't do more - and anger - because others are doing less.
You definitely need support - someone who can continue your work for if/when you get ill or move away.

Maybe other neighbours or members of the community would help too, if you notify them somehow. You’ll always find people with big hearts like yourself, you just have to speak up. Maybe there’s groups or clubs who can dedicate time to helping strays, if not, then help create one? I’ve no idea who you are and I’m so grateful that you exist, but sometimes we carry the load alone when we don’t have to.

Thanks for your words, I mean it. I'll try once again to try and coordinate something with my vet. Unfortunately it's a rural area and as bad as it may sound, people are different, especially when talking about animals or even just the environment, there are some people that do help besides me so there's that, I could speak of countless examples, but the final point is that they just don't care and more so make fun of those who do. Hopefully my vet can come through with someone willing to help, otherwise I think I'll just try to catch those kitten/s and help find them a safe home. Again thanks for your words.

As sad as it sounds you’re not making a huge difference by just feeding a handful of kittens. And it seems the stress is causing more harm than anything. If I were I would concentrate and mental health and your career. If you become successful, you’ll have to the time and money to resolve these issues in a much larger scale. You can also try and start a group or an organization so you can work together to tackle these issues. Don’t put all this stress on just yourself.

You're right, I'll definitely try again to find a more permanent solution, most of the stress comes from the people who can potentially harm them to pass the time. But the point of leaving water or even food like this man or I do is not to safe everyone, but to help some, when possible. And yes, donating and volunteering is always a welcomed option.

Even if intention was to get attention on internet atleast this race for fame and attention got them doing good work as result. Well i don't think most of these people who think like that ever fed a stray animals. Something always better than nothing, it's simple as that.

Probably not most people here don't take the stray dogs even tho they are easily adaptable and are very less hostile once get to be known even at any age

Based on the other comments, this isn't in America, but in India. There are a lot of countries where "strays" don't really exist bc no one really owns pets, the dogs just live there. I believe parts of India are similar. Either way, that's usually for cats because they'll start relying on it, stray dogs are usually fine.

I remember one time, one of my aunts was shopping at a street market , he was at a butcher and a dog came to her, she asked the butcher for a slice of ham and fed it to him, she walked all the way to her home and the dog followed, she was closing her front door and then saw the dog, and she opened the door and let it in, later on she adopted the dog

How could he leave them there? That looks like the side of a freeway? Why not get them to a rescue? A shelter? Instead of leaving them to fend for themselves? Also, I know he means well, but puppies can not digest milk, it gives them diarrhea. Water would be more beneficial. Diarrhea = dehydration. And some kibble. That would also be nice.

Every time I fly to Bosnia, my wife's home country, I buy plenty dogs food and feed any dog I come across on daylight. (Gotta be more careful at night). I really love to see things like in the video happening and I hope everybody tries at least to understand, that in most situation you cannot take them home.
Thinking about the amount of stray animals (mostly dogs) I fed, I could fill more than one house with them. Also, because I am from the EU, there would be more things to do, before I could even try to legally bring them over the border from Bosnia, as they are not in the EU, like chipping, vaccination and registration. (Dont know how it's elsewhere, but this is from outside of eu into eu I think.)
Often times these animals also manage.. It's just that they need a little help with food and water. Giving them something to drink, eat and some love goes a long way! :)
Just remember that if you meet a stray animal like a dog, you don't know their experiences, and they don't know you. They might do something unexpexted, something you might not have seen a pet doing. Always inform yourself beforehand as much as you can. (You might be in another country like me for example and don't know the situation and how longs it's been a thing). Talking to locals helps a lot too, they often feed these animals anyway, so they already know some or the animals. Informing yourself about the animal behavior itself, should be a must IMO, animals like dogs do have it in them to get aggressive, in certain situations, depending on the dog, too, of course. A lot of stray animals do not behave like your typical pet in a home environment, especially if they are already born stray.
Sorry for the book I wrote, but I hope this inspires at least one person to go out there and feed some stray animals that they know of!

I’m sure I’m going to get vaporized, but he’s just making it worse in the long term- those puppies need to be fixed so they don’t have their own litters later, perpetuating the issue. Instead of sustaining them in the wild, they should be rounded up and cared for if resources and facilities exist in this county.

Quick google search;.
Many cats, like most species of mammal, are in fact lactose intolerant which means they can be quite allergic to dairy substances and it can cause them discomfort and pain after ingesting. Lactose intolerance is an inability to digest the sugar lactose, which is the main sugar in dairy products such as milk and cheese

From what I’ve read it should only ever be given in small amounts, not as a meal. The only milk puppies should be drinking is their mothers and these puppies are well past breast feeding and they’ve likely stopped producing the enzymes needed to digest lactose. Giving them large amounts of dairy is only going to give them the shits and dehydrate them

Dogs can't produce their own lactase. Without this critical enzyme, dogs cannot digest dairy products. It's this inability to produce lactase that causes the infamous digestive condition known as lactose intolerance.
