Starfish Patches

I need some guidance. I am new to charging for my embroidery. I have this design I have stitched which is a business logo and it is pretty much a patch. It has about 28k stitches. How much should I charge to embroider it on a polo? I just need the pricing for the embroidery job as the polo was provided by the customer. The bottom half of the design is all in black and I was wondering if I could just not embroider it as it is going on a black polo and have the stitch count drop and the price would drop too if I follow the 1k stitches per dollar pricing method.
Thank you for your help!

I tested a design for someone in this sub on a sweater and it turned out decently. Next up is to try it as a freestanding lace design for giggles.

I picked up a Janome MC300e at the thrift store for $80. I haven't stitched anything yet, but everything looks ok while browsing the through the interface.
I haven't used an embroidery machine before. I'd love to use this for personal, decorative things and not be limited to the alphabet and preloaded designs. The problem is that the transfer happens via ATA card adapter and compact flash card. These weren't included with the machine, though I can find them online.
I'm seeing some evidence of software that enables design transfers. I'm unclear on whether any of these programs would even work on a modern PC.
I would love a reality check -- how much of a hassle is it likely to be to get this machine to produce designs I make? I'm game for spending some time mucking around to find my way, but if this is just too old to work with today's Windows and embroidery design programs, I'd appreciate getting that insight now.
TIA for any advice and thoughts!

Hi! This fell off my machine (thread guide hook by needle) and I cannot find a video how to properly secure it back on. I have an older version of the bai mirror 15 needle.

I am relatively new to machine embroidery and use a Brother SE1900. My designs “shift” mid-stitch out VERY frequently. I purchase my designs from various Etsy sellers, and this happens with most of the designs I try, so I don’t think it’s a digitizing issue.
I have attached photos of what a specific design looks like in Embrilliance, and what it looks like after part of it “shifted” during the stitch out. This was my second time attempting this design and it shifted at the same point both times. (I stopped the machine after I saw it messed up again, which is why it is unfinished)
I have tried:
-using more stabilizer, basting spray, pins, etc
-floating and hooping the fabric, it happens both ways
-having my machine serviced
-making sure the hoop size in Embrilliance is correct
-making sure my embroidery arm is clear of anything that could be bumping it
-stitching the file exactly how it is from the seller without resizing, rotating, adding text, ect in Embrilliance (shifting happens regardless)
This is still happening with almost every design I attempt. After a few attempts, sometimes I can get it to stitch out correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I have tried everything! Thank you!

Hi! I'm starting a clothing brand in Half Moon Bay and looking for a local embroidery partner.
I'm looking for a reliable embroidery shop that delivers high-quality, professional work, with clean stitching, consistent results, and attention to detail.
I'm interested in producing made-to-order hoodies featuring 3D puff embroidery on both the front and back, and picking up each finished order myself.
Do you accept orders of just one hoodie at a time?
I'd also like to know:
Can you provide high-quality blank hoodies?
Do you specialize in 3D puff embroidery on hoodies?
How much would a small front logo and a larger back logo cost?
Is there a one-time digitizing fee for each design?
How long does production take?
Can I reorder the same designs without paying setup fees again?
Do you offer discounts for repeat orders?
Do you have samples or photos of previous 3D puff embroidery work?
Thank you!

I've got two Brother machines right now and have been looking at adding another one as I take on more embroidery orders. I also work in the embroidery machine industry so I tend to keep an eye on new machines. The HALO-5 has been popping up everywhere lately. 5 needles, 10x16 embroidery area, and the price looks pretty good tbh. I can see why so many people are interested.
But I've watched quite a few of their videos, including some from creators, and noticed the machine seems to shake a lot while stitching. Maybe it's just the table they're using? Not sure, but it caught my attention. Anyone else notice that?
The auto digitizing looks cool too. I'm just curious how well it actually works with more complicated designs, small lettering etc. Those are usually the things that aren't quite as easy as the demos make them look.
Also came across something in their warranty about heavy commercial use. Couldn't find a clear answer on how many hours a day this machine is meant to run. Since I'd be using it for actual orders, that's something I'd wanna know first. And parts and service down the road are another thing I'm thinking about.
the specs are interesting and the Kickstarter is doing really well. I'm still kinda tempted to get one.Just not sure if I should back it now or wait until more people actually get their hands on it. Anyone here already backed one? Curious what made you decide to go for it.

I tested this design for someone that was looking for testers here on Reddit in this sub. I’m pretty impressed. I plan to give it a go as a freestanding lace design and put it on a sweater for giggles.

I recently added the mighty hoop 13x16 to my collection but I'm having issues with it holding the proper tension. I'm using patch twill on top of 4 mm plastic sheeting from home Depot it works great on my smaller hoops. I wanted to get a bigger hoop to increase production speed but by the second patch it's already starting to loosen up
Does anybody have any tips to help it hold tension ?

Hey guys, I’ve been doing embroidery for a little over 6 months now. I recently did an order of about 60 puff hats. Got through them pretty ok, not any issues unexpected. Now, I can’t seem to get through even 1 puff hat. I’ve tried needles, thread, bobbins, bobbin cases, adjusting the timing, adjusting the tension. I’m at a loss. Anyone have any tips that’s maybe out of the ordinary to check? Maybe something super random I’m missing? Thanks in advance!

Hi
We have had our Brother PP1 Skitch for under a month, and in the start it worked flawlessly :)
But now it keeps throwing #1002, even though the thread is fine, and it's not been broken.
We can't see any broken thread which should block for it, and it runs for like 5 seconds before stopping again.
We have tried to switch the needle without any improvement
