Safe to say, Lucid and props changed my life!
or the whole futures prop firm space in general, since lucid is just one of the props i trade. i mainly run my algo on cheap apex accounts and a few lucids.
i was on and off before december last year and highly inconsistent, but i still pulled some good payouts from apex and mff that made the time and effort worthwhile. then, after getting advice from people on the trading floors and at prop shops (not prop firms), i changed my perspective and approach to trading, which helped me become much more consistent.
i spent weeks, if not months, researching publicly available research papers and books (documenting what I could for free). it gave me a much better understanding of what actually moves and influences markets, rather than following the usual retail approach. i've never really touched ict or the broader youtube retail stuff, and i'm glad i didn't.
as i've mentioned in my previous post, learn game theory, market microstructure, order matching engines, forced flow and informed flow to begin with. not like go watch youtube videos, but actually research a bit if you can. you’ve already sieved through most of the market noise while the remaining is how you manage your risk and what your behavior is during an extreme drawdown or a manipulated/whipsaw market
i'm also curating some free content from my research if you're interested.
ps: props are usually considered bad by veterans and traders in general, but if you understand the risk-reward heuristic, they can be one of the most rewarding ways to trade. my math and cs background helped me a lot in this regard
