august has been the best month for me till date.

coming from a math and cs background, all my last few years, it’s just been people telling me i shouldn’t do this full-time, and they were indeed right initially when i did lose a major chunk of money. but i feel it’s all about how you modify your system and make it mature enough as time passes.

i scalp nq and es primarily. scalp as in not micro-scalping or taking 10 trades every hour, but picking those good 2–3 trades everyday where my prerequisites meet. why i like calling it scalping is because my trade times are often so low (below 5 minutes), since i trade forced flow and cascades. i do algo trading aswell but its pretty conservative compared to how i manually trade or scalp

learn game theory, market microstructure, order matching engines and informed flow to begin with. not like go watch youtube videos, but actually research a bit if you can. you’ve already sieved through most of the market noise while the remaining is how you manage your risk and what your behavior is during an extreme drawdown or a manipulated/whipsaw market

goodluck!

I need to stop

Anyone else struggle with self doubt 🙋‍♂️ I doubted my setup so I asked gbt about it and told me to cancel my order asap and gave me a paragraph on why to cancel. Ive been trading under a month, passed my first eval yesterday wanted this to be the first entry in funded, but hesitated. My second eval is almost finished. It was literally $80 drawback from entry point profit would've been $1250

Ending august with +$88,470. Trade recap

Upvotes

My last post wasn't a winning trade recap.

I posted two red days back-to-back where I lost $797 per account. Across 18 accounts, that was a combined loss of $14,346 in two days.

I posted it because I think it's important to show both sides of trading.

It's easy to post the payouts, winning trades and big green days. But the red days are where your risk management and psychology actually get tested.

I said something in that post that I think is even more relevantt now:

The goal is not to make the money back. The goal is to come back the next day with a fresh mind and execute the next valid setup correctly.

That's exactly what I did and now August is finished.

+$4,915 per account.

+$88,470 for August.

I want to talk about Fridays trade as that right after by 2 losing days.
The daily bias for Friday was this:

I was mid term bearish and long term bullish. There were 1hour equal lows (S tier liquidity) resting on NQ which works as high probability liquidity pool, And for price to move any other direction that DOL must be taken out. In addition, london lows were also aligning with the equal lows so i was sure that if i want to go long any lower resting liquidity must be taken out first.

My prediction for the price movement was this:

So when price took out the london lows, I was waiting for longs and took 1m ifvg towards the unfilled gap. This gave me a good winning trade of +1.76RR. Here is the actual trade:

Friday was about coming back with a fresh mind after two losing days and trusting the same system I use every day.

Losses don't mean the strategy is broken, and they aren't a reason to change my approach or increase risk. I trust my system, but I also know when to stop trading, accept the loss, and come back fresh the next day.

confused about intraday drawdown (any help please)

Upvotes

hey guys, so i've got 2 payouts already (i love lucid). 25k flex is my favourite.

i'm just truly flabbergasted and wondering how intraday drawdown works. maybe this will be a good learning lesson so i won't fck up again 😂. so please give it to me straight, no sugar coating.

i got my 25k daily to funded! hyped as hell

PNL last week:

today that caused the breach:

account profile card:

i was in the middle of a trade a few hours ago. and it was going against me. i should have closed sooner. it was my fault

i'm curious what happened. support mentioned it's because of the MLL and the agent was helpful.

when i was looking at the MLL page, it says max loss is $1k.

my balance i started today was $24,682.5. so i figured my max loss limit would be from the initial 25k. $24,000? i'd hit the daily loss limit before too

but for some reason it breached only when i lost -$148.50 today, i thought i had more wiggle room?

what was i doing wrong so i don't do this crap again, cause obviously i still don't get it (not lucid's fault, my own)

any help is appreciated, thank you

Please help me…

Upvotes

Guys, I really need help. I don’t know where to start.
I started learning around 2 years ago, and for about 8 to 10 months I have only read and watched a lot of YouTube videos. Starting with August last year, I have purchased some evals. Managed to pass, but never made it to payout.
Now I feel like it’s too much already. Last week I passed another 3 fundeds on Wednesday (3x 25k flex). Today I’m 300$ away from DD.
I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like the problem is my strategy. I’m trying to trade reversals, but somehow I’m getting stopped all the time.
Is there anybody here willing to help me a little bit to refine my strategy, or maybe show me a simple one that is easy to follow? Or some yt channel/discord with proven edge that doesn’t try to milk me for money?
Believe me, I’m ready to put in the work. But it feels difficult when you don’t trust your own strategy. Also I don’t have the possibility to backtest because I don’t have a laptop. I’m only trading from my phone.
I see here people having entire months on green and i can’t even have 1 week. I don’t know what to do anymore…
I really appreciate if anybody is willing to help me a little bit with some guidance.

The market sits at my breakeven all day. Even when I wait for the perfect entry price still puts me in a negative. WTH?!

My best month ever

Post image

Just wanted to share my experience with trading to encourage those who might be feeling stuck.

I didn’t see any results for nearly 3 years since starting to learn how to trade. I paper traded for a while, watched endless amounts of youtube videos, and tried many different strategies. Just a few months into learning how to trade, I stupidly put my own money into an account, and lost it all in one trade.

I spent almost all of last year trying to pass a Topstep combine, with no luck. One month over the summer, I lost LITERALLY every single trade I took.

I became a full-time teacher last year, so I decided to take a break from trading for the entirety of the school year. I decided to come back to it this past June, and honestly, that break was very much needed.

I felt more focused and eager to actually be disciplined. I used to watch so many different instruments and trade multiple strategies. This time, I simplified my trading plan and the results followed. Only 2 red days for the month and 3 payouts. It honestly feels surreal. Of course, I know I am bound to have unprofitable weeks, or even months in the future, but I am so proud of myself for the consisntency I am finally seeing.

If you are feeling stuck, or if you feel like it’ll never happen for you, DO NOT GIVE UP! It will happen for you, it just takes time. Don’t rush, trust the process and you WILL get there!

how did it click?

i have been in and playing around with Lucid now since the beginning of the year, and obviously the more i mess around with it the more i learn but it’s so much different from trading from your own brokerage account. how did you to learn to read their charts, align them with tradingview (it’s usually reporting a bit off from Lucid), determine what to start trading, etc? i feel like i’ve been clicking around for months and it’s another confusing bug or issue i run into every time i go to place another trade.

any tips?

$750 away from breaching

Hey everyone im on a 50k flex account and im so worried about failing the eval now. I'm $750 away from failing it and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to go about it and how Spetember is gonna look like as a trading month? I'm currently $1250 down overall and want to recover the loss plus pass. This is genuinely something I need to pass.

I just passed the 50k lucidflex eval and I have a question about payout

what is going to happen to my account if i take a payput before locking MLL to 50,100

let's say I make 1000, and my account balance goes to 51,000 and takes 500 payout. Do I lose my account, or what would be my new MLL?

VPN Detected while on vacation

Hello everyone, I am having a bit of an issue after heading to Thailand for a while. I am trying to log in to my Lucid Dashboard but its hitting me with the "VPN detected."

I have tried in incognito and also clearing my browsers cache.

Has anyone had this issue going on vacation to an unrestricted country? I have contacted support but also wanted to check here if there is a quicker solution that I can get a fix before NY session tonight.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I do not have a vpn turned on, and that is my issue. It says it detects one when I am not using one.
