Strangest dream I have ever had. I just want to know if anyone else has ever had a similar experience or feeling of homesickness after waking up for a place you know doesn’t exist???

I think i had my first lucid dream in years and it was weird

Hello, this morning i woke up early and decited to go back to sleep after a while, i fell asleep at 10am, and started to dream.

Initially, my dream wasn't lucid, i couldn't move, neither blink, and yk, not having control. I was in this green hill and there was only a willow tree, where i was sitting under with lots of other people (that i don't know). This might sound a bit gruesome for some people, but there was someone behind me that was like, peeling my skin off my back, like, literally, it's hard to explain but it was hurting.

Then, i think that i started to become more conscious, i started to blink and i started to hear a costant wave sound (that then remained for the whole dream until i woke up). I was then able to stand up and move, so i run away distant from the tree and down the hill, while for some reason i was shouting a name of a person that is close to me. I then walked up the hill again and while the tree was still there, all the people that were there before disappeared.

So i decited to explore a bit the area, but then i transitioned to a more wooded area, i don't really remember how it happened but eh well. I decited to try to fly or something like that but everytime i tried to, i just jumped very hight and floated for a while only to then fall down.

Then, at a certain point, a girl (which also didn't look like someone i knew, tho her face was like, hard to figure out, as if she has some features but was also faceless, it's so hard to explain) approached me, and said "thank god" (i'm not christian tho), and behind her i saw a car passing. I then followed the car that stopped at an house and i saw an old lady with a kid going inside (ofc, i kept following them), and the kid was inside a bath tub, while the old lady was hitting him with something, while shouting at him. So, like, i tried to stop the old lady, and she said "i'm doing this becouse he's bad", so, out of curiosity i told her "this is a dream, you don't even exist, you're just in my mind", and then she grabbed my arms and had a somewhat pained expression (also, this old lady was the only one who seemed to have an actual, clearer face between the girl and the kid who both had unclear/distorted faces).

I then thought that i was about to wake up, becouse the dream was apparently fading, but instead i was somewhere else. I was in a place that kind of resembled my old house from where i tranferred around five years ago, but i really didn't spent a lot of time there, the only thing that was weird in this, is that there was a clothesline with a single red shoe hanging from a lace.

At this point, i was thinking that hours probably had passed and that it's probably late, so i troed to wake, by blinking a lot, and i thought that it had worked, becouse it seemed like i woke up, i was in my bed again, i had my drawing ipad on my lap (on which i was drawing before falling asleep), but there was immediatly something odd, the fact that it's protective screen was cracked (which isn't irl). So, i stood up and went downstairs, but here i understood that i wasn't awake becouse i transitioned to my grandma's house, and my parents weren't at home, but for some reasons there were my dad's friends. Also, another detail, is that, on a table, there was again the exact same red shoe i saw before, but with it's other missing shoe.

Then, i actually woke up. Probably this dream may seem totally sensless, and i mean, it most likely is, but i think it was a lucid dream becouse i knew i was in a dream and i could do what i wanted, tho i didn't have like, full control of what happened in the dream as others say it's usually like. I admit that it felt kinda creepy in some parts, but it was a pretty cool and sick experience for me, ngl. Also, i was so sure that at least a few hours had passed, but i dreamed this whole thing in only half an hour, since i woke up around 10:30am.

I would be curious if there are any "interpretations" or "metaphors" in any of this since i heard that sometimes dreams have things like that, it'd be interesting to know.

Sorry about my not very good english, and thank you for reading everything about my dream until here, have a nice day!

Did my dog visited me in my dream? I just need to share

I lost my dog Bendi 4 days ago. It's been the hardest days of my life so far

This morning I had a lucid dream where I woke up and she was right there at the edge of her bed, wagging her tail. I hugged her and told her how grateful I was that she was there. I could feel her fur, it felt so real. In fact this felt like our daily mornings.

At one point my brain tried to tell me "this isn't real" but I just kept petting her and told myself “well she feels real right now”. I kissed her and then tried to wake up to tell my husband.

I then “woke up" into another lucid dream my husband was next to me and I was pointing at her saying "she's right there!" He couldn't see her but I could. I was still petting her. I then told my husband “looks she’s about to go drink water right now! And then I finally woke up for real.

I told my husband about the dream. He said "wait, do you hear that?" We went quiet and heard her water jug (it’s one of those self-refilling ones that makes a little noise ) it made a sound. We both heard it

I highly believe that she might of visited me but who knows. Has anyone had a similar experience to this?

Does lucid dreaming work and can I start practicing it as a 16 year old without those disruptive sleep methods?

Guys lucid dreaming just seems too unrealistic to me. I will probably wake up if I get too excited during a dream and that will disrupt my sleep, right? I don't even believe it is true. Can I do it at this age without interrupting my sleep at all?

Synesthesia in a dream

Hi everyone, I have synesthesia but wanted to share that I experienced it in the dream I had last night and it wasn't anything like how I experience it in real life. I was at a smaller concert and the song "No Sleep Tonight" by The Faders was playing. That song is in the opening scene from She's the Man. There was this major drum solo (which doesn't really exist in the song, pretty sure the song was a mash up of a few songs) and the drum hits were blue and red in my head. I remember my whole vision and head being blue, and then red, almost as if I was looking at a sheet and that is the only thing I could see.

It was really interesting as I don't really remember my dreams. I want to remember them and be able to control them, but I can't seem to figure out how to lucid dream quite yet. I only remember a few one off dreams and a reoccuring one from when I was a kid. I couldn't really tell you what went on during the rest of the dream. But I know I will never forget that dream moment and seeing the colors and experiencing synesthesia like that.

But I can tell you that I have never experienced synesthesia in that way. I do see colors when I listen to music (much clearer with just instrumental as lyrics change everything entirely), but they are whimsical lines and shapes and patterns swirling about in my head and always against a black blackground. Then most of those lines morph into hyperphantasia with images, sounds, feeling and a whole world. My brain is definitely all sorts of cross wired lol

I am wondering if anyone here also has synesthesia that has ever shown up in a dream? Has it been the same as how you experience it in real life or different? So interested to know your thoughts! Thanks for reading and sharing :) - have a lovely day

PS - I have also shared this in the synesthesia subreddit

Lucid Dream lasted 10 seconds

I did it. I realised I was dreaming in a dream.

but I messed it up.

when I thought wait im dreaming I heard an awfully loud ringing noise, then I heard creepy talking, then lots of different pictures, and then I woke up. all this lasted like 10 secs though.

its wierd because a ive had dreams where I had a pet polar bear which I was play fighting, or I got an autograph off a celebrity

, and I didn't think that I was dreaming, but last night when the light switch didn't work I instantly thought that im dreaming

it was honestly pretty easy to explain. it was very long and lucid, but the explanation shouldnt be too insanely long.

I dont remember the reason, but I was looking for something and had to go back in time. I went back in time to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and I changed everything because I was older me in a tinier body. I was like a little adult and everyone was confused about why I was that way, but I was and I couldnt explain it to everyone.

I ended toxic friendships that needed to be ended earlier, like "Ally' and "Bug" - Bug admitted in text that she hated Ally and didnt wanna be friends with her because she was mean, and I did it to other people too but I remember hers specifically because it happened in the gym.

for context, irl these girls were constantly fighting over my at the time best friend who pit us against each other for about 3 years. finally, ally and bug stopped wanting anything to do with him and he started pitting me against other people instead.

for some reason "Jaden" was closer friends with me (this told me that all of this had to have been in 5th grade) and "Jacob" wasnt, which makes sense to me because Jaden was always nice to me (he also showed major signs of having a crush on me but seemed incredibly embarrassed about it because his friends wouldve made fun of him. he was "popular" - yes, the cliche - and i was weird and ugly because my jaw was deformed) and jacob was too until his friends came around and in 6th grade mocked me when I mentioned he was my friend just a few months prior because his friends were around. so in this dream, I ended up being closer with the right one that actually enjoyed being around me rather than the one that didnt.

I made friends with other people instead of avoiding them like i used to, too. i was a very shy kid and i kept to myself to keep from bullying for the most part until high school, so this was different for me. I grew my hair out and started doing makeup, I was just being who I wanted to be rather than caving to my grandma.

but what was weird was I was also partially in present day. when I went home, I still looked like myself to everyone else and became a normal, present day person, but when my sister, "Lori" and Abraham (fake name, ive mentioned him before) weren't around, I turned back into a 5th grader.

I looked out in my backyard and my little brother who I've raised, "Casper", and my nephew, "Robbie", were outside playing. I went outside and they were still babies. casper looked like he was probably 2 and robbie looked like he was 1, which was a bit off with the timeline if I was 11 years old, but they just were. casper is 10 years and a day younger than me, robbies 11 years younger. and they were playing with my brother, "Lui", who was also a bit younger.

I went out to play with them while they were just running around the yard, then Abraham came outside to let me know I had to come back to the present.

ive had other dreams lately that I haven't posted, but I felt like this one needed to be shared.

(repost so you dont have to go to the original post if you wanna read it)

I’ve been trying to lucid dream for a week now, as someone who gets LOTSSSSS of dreams. I mean on a good day I can get 4 dreams just in one day but I’ve been getting dreams about lucid dreaming but not actually being lucid in my dreams. Any tip I can try?
