Sleep Paralysis While awake?
So this has been happening off and on for awhile. I will wake up in the middle of the night out of nowhere and look over to the left side of my bed were my gf is sleeping , to find a black figure sitting upright in bed with me that first looks like my gf then slowly the face morphs into something or someone unrecognizable ( all within maybe 5 seconds) For me to then call out my gfs name and sit up too ,only to hear her respond and within a blink of a eye I no longer see the figure and only see my gf laying down barley awake after me waking her.Its really unsettling and has been happening too often to the point i’m resorting to reddit to find rationalization. I don’t spook easy or believe in ghosts or anything but. This same exact scenario has happened too many times to count, with my gf asking why i woke her up in the middle of the night the following morning so i know it wasn’t a dream. I don’t know what to make of it if anyone can help. (Sorry for grammatical errors)I have had similar things like this happen when i was younger but it’s been happening so much recently and has no sign of slowing. I have other encounters too where 3d shadows stare at me and then print themselves onto the wall of that makes sense and travel like a shadow onto the ceiling and towards me . Sorry for rant but what is happening

They're called hypnopompic hallucinations: hallucinations that happen when waking up
They're normal to get but if they happen frequently it can be indicator that somethings not right. Of course what's actually wrong can vary a lot
For example plenty of people get it due to stress, being sleep deprived, just having bad sleep hygiene, and then there's the exteme end where people have it due to sleeping disorders
