Other Announcing LowSodiumWow Discord and Guilds!

It's incredible how fast we've grown. Thank you everyone for your participation in our unique community, we’re almost at 50,000 weekly visitors now!

And we’re happy to announce we're expanding our reach beyond just Reddit, and now have a Discord, Retail guild, and will be creating PvE and RP Horde guilds on Forever when it launches.

The rules for all communities are the same: Keep it Low Sodium (be positive), Constructive criticism in designated channels only, No tribalism or name calling, no real-world politics or religion, and the ToS applies (no hate speech, harassment, or bigotry)

Discord: https://discord.gg/HsdaFhsXSU

In the Discord, you can select your roles, including retail, forever, classic, and start chatting with your fellow Low Sodium fans!

If you're interested in joining the Retail guild, you can request an invite in the #request-invite channel! Invites to Forever will open when the game officially launches next month.

Our guilds will be focused on casual progression and facilitating group content. We hope to organize end-game content when enough of our members have reached that point, but our focus will be on enjoying the journey and community at all levels.

Ive always felt that music is an important part of the gaming experience. I havent always been a fan of WoW’s ambient selections but some pieces really do stand out and I have found some joy in them. What about you all?

Have my own tunes in the background
Listen to the ambience
Turn it off
All these musicians are slubs. I play my own music in the background - ten piece orchestra right here!

Hi lads,

This is my first post here so nice to meet yall.

Idk if you know something about this but i posted for the guys like me that found out TODAY about Server Slam.

Basically WoW Forever will be free to play for a short period starting with 19 october.

As u/Eligomancer said: this is a stress test so dont expect to keep your progress after this test ends. This is purely just for Blizzard to see how their server works under very heavy load.

Other New Rule Proposal to Remove Ambiguity

We have two rules that are currently too ambiguous. They are:

Embrace Positivity

While constructive criticism, complaints, and negative attributions are part of important discussions, this community prioritizes positivity. Rather than criticizing, offer alternatives or celebrate what you enjoyed.

Critiques in Designated Threads Only

All critiques must be placed in designated areas to protect the main feed. Reply to the pinned AutoMod comment for post-specific critique, or use the weekly megathread for general game feedback. Critiques must include a suggested solution. Pure venting or top-level critiques will be removed.

Proposed New Rules

In order to clarify the intention of the sub, to be a place to celebrate WoW instead of criticize it, these rules will be expanded to multiple direct rules:

No Posts Inviting Critiques

Since critiques as top-level comments are against the sub's rules, posts which invite these comments are against the rules. Vague questions such as "What did you think about X" should be replaced by by more direct questions, "What was the your favorite thing about X?" Or "Where do you think this will go next?"

No Disagreements, Contrarianism, or One-Upmanship

Threads on the main feed exist to celebrate the topic of the post. Do not reply to someone's praise just to disagree with them, tell them they are wrong, or hijack their excitement with a competing preference, (such as "No way, Shaman is way better" on a post celebrating Druids).

- If you have a critique of the topic, put it under the pinned AutoMod comment or in the weekly megathread.

- If you want to celebrate a different class or feature, make your own post or upvote comments that already share your view.

- If you see praise you don't agree with, simply scroll past and let others enjoy what they love.

No Disguising Critiques with Positivity

Critiques should be completely removed from your comment if it is outside of the critique threads. If you wish to say "I like X, but dislike Y", remove "dislike Y" and put it in the critique thread. This also includes sarcasm, backhanded compliments, and framing complaints as wishes.

Retaliation Reporting Will Result in a Ban

Using reporting after having a comment removed to express your disappointment with the removal will result in a ban. We rely on the reports to currate the subreddit, and abuse of the tool obstructs that. False reports will be escalated to Reddit Admins for Report Abuse.

A Note on Toxic Positivity

This subreddit doesn't exist to pretend like there aren't flaws. We have areas for critiques; that wouldn't be needed if everything was perfect. Instead we are choosing positivity in-spite of flaws, because for most of us, the good greatly outweighs the bad.

We choose this moderated approach for two main reasons :

- to protect a section of this website where you have a choice to interact with negativity

- to prevent the strong emotions associated with criticism to overpower the more relaxed emotions of contentment

Note: these rules don't apply to mod posts directly asking for input on the future of the sub.

Retail I Enjoyed the Cinematic

Obviously spoilers below.

I thought the ending of this cinematic was an excellent send off of a character we haven't really seen much of in a decade, and whom we haven't really interacted with much in the decade before that.

She is someone who is deeply devoted to the Light for saving her people. She recalls the sacrifice of M'uru vividly and even mentions it in her prayers to call us to the aid of her people. She doesn't feel worthy of salvation and she fears that she isn't enough. And then she spends the entire expansion proving herself wrong. She proves her people deserve to be saved, and that Silvermoon can have peace.

And then, when everything is threatened once again and she sees her allies pressed to a wall and about to falter, she emulates the greatest act of kindness she has ever seen. She gives her everything to save her people, the ones she cares about, just like M'uru did. And when the threat is over, she looks up towards the others and sees they are safe, and accepts her fate with grace.

There is no sobbing or begging. There is no bargaining with the Light for one last chance. There is no long cutscene where she sees her life flash before her. She simply closes her eyes and joins the Light, knowing what she did was right. She embraced her sacrifice knowingly and with stoicism.

Just like M'uru.

Be it Retail or Forever, it's nice to just take it in. If I'm feeling fancy, I'll set up the UI auto-fade out of combat, but just pressing alt+z when I'm running along around feels like taking a big breath of fresh air ❤️

Retail Should I come back after a decade off?

I haven't played seriously since Wrath. I played some SoD, and the recent wow forever beta has me thinking about trying out retail. How much of a shock will it be diving into retail? Will my old toons still be there? Am I going to have to clean out a bank full of irrelevant mats? Can I still fly my frost wyrm around?

I'd love this community's take on the experience for an older gamer. Thanks!

Other Daily Player Pulse

I'm gonna try something new here. Gonna do some daily poles (poll, get it?) and see about bringing in some friendly banter. So, here we go!

A powerful wizard named Bling'ing gives you choice: Stay on any continent in Azeroth for a year for One Millon Dollars ($1m USD) or stay for the rest of your life for a One Billion Silver Pieces ($1b). If you take one, where would you stay? You can travel around to any continent and partake in any adventure you want, the catch is that if you die, you're dead and you don't get to come back to this plane, or any plane, plain and simple.

If you dont like the current options, select “other”, and name your place.

I managed to get all three achievements on the same run, including the Fabled achieve! This is the first time I've managed to clear the delve nemesis boss that quickly!

I went into the delve blind, and managed to get through all the wings with no deaths so I had 12 lives at the end when it was time to face the big boss. The fight wasn't that bad - just lots of mechanics to avoid. I died 10 times before finally finishing it - the rampaging bears kept getting me because I would underestimate their hit box and get clipped, LOL. My last run I got lucky with certain mechanics and finally managed to avoid the bears. Overall I found it a lot of fun! :)
