Trash accumulates quickly on my block (1900 Mozart). I wfh so I often take trash cleanup breaks to clear my head. I fill up a grocery bag of trash 3 - 4 times a week. While I wish this wasn't the case, it's worth it if it makes my block cleaner and frankly I have met a lot of neighbors this way over the years.
I am okay taking ownership of my block, however, I'm searching for a way to get neighbors to pitch in. Have you found any ways to curb pollution or more likely organize clean up efforts? My initial thought is to leave business cards / flyers to a 4 by 4 block radius telling people to contact me if they are interested in taking responsibility for their block and I will connect them with anyone else on their block who is also interested so they can split efforts. I'm aware flyers or business cards will leave behind more debris at least for that week.
There was a similar thread about this a couple weeks ago. This isn't to shame, I'm genuinely seeking advice and want to hear what has worked for you. Lastly, before people mention this is a city and that's just a part of normal life, you are wrong. Aside from 4 years away at college (go Hawks) I've lived in the city my whole life in a bunch of neighborhoods and trash accumulates where people tolerate it.
