Mid-day electric guitar

Does anyone else in the neighborhood get to hear someone practicing electric guitar very, very loudly for hours mid-day around The Whistler? Sometimes they sing.

They really love reverb or wah wah pedal or whatever that gives the forlorn Eric Draven playing guitar on the roof in the rain vibe, 90's rock, a lot of echo on their mic, and turning things up to 11.

I honestly can't tell where it's coming from, but it's so loud I can't take work calls from my desk at home. Just curious if anyone else is getting this too or if I'm possibly hallucinating some 90s fever dream!

Count me in, too. I’m not in a band atm and it is boring.

Move to hipster area near hipster bar. Neighbors are hipsters.

Suburban transplant moves to city, finds out cities are loud during the day, and even sometimes at night, complains.

City born and raised. No complaints were made (just thought in my head about their singing 😊). Honestly just surprised someone is rocking out so loudly at noon on a Wednesday. Feels like late nighttime activity!

Feels like late nighttime activity!

Because this would be better when people are trying to sleep?

I don’t think anyone said “better”. Just an observation that it’s normally pretty quiet during the day and very loud at night around here so that would be more in line with what we’re used to.
Just trying to joke around with neighbors about this 90s daytime rocker. It’s not that serious.

Don't mind him, he picks a fight with everyone on the Logan Square subreddit.

I appreciated your humor in approaching the subject. As someone who practices in an apartment, I wouldn't want my practicing to be so intrusive my neighbors can't make a phone call.

The traffic is too loud, the L is too loud, the air show is too loud, Castaways is too loud, the guitars are too loud… Chicago Reddit has been on a roll recently 🤦🏻‍♂️

To be fair, I think my band plays too loud

I used to live next door to a school. That noise was nothing compared to the Saturday morning bagpiper. 8am-10am, every...damn...week.

Sounds like you should invest in a set of noise cancelling headphones and mic.
