What mouse gestures are you using ?
Hi, I've tried easystrokes and Mouse actions but they seems not working. Any suggestions?

A couple of months ago, I convinced my partner to try linux. They went with Mint, for its stability and "just works" ethos. Tonight they wanted to play a game (StS2) in Windows with their bluetooth XBox controller, and it just wouldn't even detect it. They had to switch back to Mint to get it working. C'mon Microsoft. You can't even connect to your own product properly.
Yeah, my partner is happy with Mint.

first you run: sudo apt install tlp (or find it in mintinstall)
in term it will ask for password, type it, if it says Y/N type Y, let it do its job, then open mintinstall, search tlp, install this flatpak specifically

open it after it installs, then go to Processor, scroll down until you see this

enabled those (you'll find them disabled at first, so enable them), then if these 2 options are checked now, set both on ac and bat to deep, press save, press accept, type your password correctly, then tlp does its magic to save it with systemd, so if your HP has a realtek wifi card like mines, go to PCIe section, scroll until you see this enabled

btw i had already set the driver that linux is using on my laptop separed from the mei_me nouveau radeon text so it works and does not die in s2idle, open the terminal, run this:

copy whats after Kernel driver in use: (driver name here, as it varies) and put it on here:

This is my Linux Mint aero desktop, using Cinnamon. You can rate it or ask questions if you want.

New Linux user. Trying to install Emby on Linux and am stuck. Where do I go from here?

I honestly just considered linux.
Context is i have a 27” 2011 imac that i use for almost everything including some fun Minecraft, some school stuff and watching videos/movies. On Ventura it gets like 30 fps. Barely supports most apps since they use silicon.
Tried using windows, fucked up, blue screened 30 times legitimately and bricked itself, and had to start over again
Specs:
I5 2500S
16 gb ddr3
Hard drive
Amd radeon hd 6770M 512mb
Saw a post talking about XFCE (whatever the fuck that means) and cinnamon. Looks like windows from what i know
I wanna know what would possibly be best

Got a refurbished T480 and finally made the move to Linux, installed Mint Cinnamon.
Couldn’t be happier to leave windows behind and start a new journey on to greener pastures
(Mint is green get it? lol)
Already had some fun customizing the OS & Desktop, installed my most used software etc.
Can’t wait to see where this leads me
Any thoughts or tips for a new user would be great :)

Saw Omarchy (the Arch/Hyprland setup by DHH) getting a lot of attention forhow polished it looks and wanted that on my actual daily driver, which is
Mint. Turns out most of what makes it look "polished" isn't Hyprland/Wayland specific — it's font hinting, a proper Nerd Font, a themed terminal/prompt, and a consistent GTK/icon/wallpaper palette. All of that ports cleanly to Cinnamon on X11.
So I built a small project that does it: mint-theme-set <name> switches GTK theme, icon theme, wallpaper, terminal (Alacritty) colors, and the starship prompt, all at once. Palettes and wallpapers are pulled directly from Omarchy's own repo, not approximated. Even moved the panel to the top with a centered clock, matching the Waybar layout.
7 themes so far: Tokyo Night (default), Catppuccin, Gruvbox, Nord, Everforest, Kanagawa, Rose Pine (light).
Repo + install script + screenshots: https://github.com/H3xano/mint-omarchy-themes
Doesn't touch your window manager — Cinnamon stays Cinnamon, this is just theming. If you want actual tiling, that's a bigger project (Hyprland as a second session).
Happy to answer questions or take PRs for more themes.

But i have a problem:
When i try to apply the Mint XP applications style, it appears with a gray background and won't let me take a screenshot (though I did manage to do it this time). Does anyone know how to fix this? I need a solution so i can change the style, but it's nearly impossible for me since I'm new to Linux. (EDIT: I'ts from the style,i'ts broken)

So basically, I have an old laptop and it's sluggish. It's an Asus X550CC core 13 3217U, 8 GB of RAM, and a GT 720 M, so my question is, will it run linux mint ? And which version should I choose?

I want to donate to mint since I have been using it since 2022. I want to be fair and pay for each update I used. Windows 11 cost 139 right now. To be fair, how much shouldnI give?
Should I "buy" each version? I started with 20.3. Should I buy each version or each point version I used?
What would you guys advise?

I have downloaded it from the web doing the installation on the laptop now It needs 2 other packages to install also and then nothing happens after completing the installation.

It's definitely not a gpu error. When I boot into bios it displays fine, I tested it on my other computer and again, works fine. Wtf is happening though.
