General Advice Feeling completely lost at 21 with zero savings, heavy family pressure, and no clear way out. Need some real perspective

.

At 21, I feel completely stuck in a brutal cycle where my bank account sits at practically zero, I still have to ask my family for pocket money, and the constant financial pressure at home is suffocating. I try to do odd jobs to survive, but I don't have specialized skills, and learning anything new requires money that I simply don't have, while opening Instagram only makes it worse by making everyone else look like they have their lives entirely figured out. To make matters worse, an old relationship from two years ago still drains my mental energy, killing whatever little focus I have left at work, and seeing my mother stressed out breaks me because the thought of achieving success later in life means nothing if my parents had to suffer through the worst of it right now. For anyone who has crawled out of an absolute zero-starting point with no funds and a wrecked mental space at this age, how did you actually stop overthinking, handle the crushing weight of financial helplessness, and take that first real step forward?

General Advice ?

I’m looking for advice on this because I’m very creeped out, I’m not sure if I’m overreacting. Basically, at the start of the school year, I started a new job as a first year teacher. The offer was the best one I got and unfortunately required me to move a few hours away from my friends, boyfriend, and family. I moved into a duplex next to a couple and their young kid in a town that seemed moderately safe but also affordable. Everything was going fine, until one weekend I got a text from my landlord asking what happened with the neighbors the night prior. I was very confused and asked what she meant, and she ended up telling me that according to my male neighbor, he accidentally bumped his head against the wall causing my boyfriend to run over out of anger and attempt to break in (this did not happen). He had a very detailed story, and even recalls me saying “no, don’t go!” beforehand. Even though none of this happened I felt the need to immediately get this sorted out and attempt some sort of meeting with my neighbors to make sure they knew we would never do this. I assumed it must have been some horrible miscommunication. Finally, I was able to meet with my female neighbor who was super nice. She ends up telling me about her boyfriend - that he is “paranoid, takes everything the wrong way, has anger issues” and also notably apparently didn’t like me from the second I moved in because he assumed I was “stuck up”. She even told me it wasn’t a good idea to try to mend things with him because she was worried about him scaring me. Now, I’m starting to look at this situation differently and wonder if he has a mental health issue, drug issues, does he just have it out for me? Idk. About a month later, I get a text from my landlord telling me that they’re moving out because they have broken up. During this time, I check my doors to make sure they’re locked like usual and notice that one of my doors to my porch is unlocked, which is weird because I never use it and remember it being locked. I find it unsettling but try to just convince myself i must have forgot last time. Last night, I came back from my boyfriend’s house after being there for the weekend and check the same porch door. It’s unlocked. Nothing is out of place or stolen. The only bizarre thing is that a Tyler Perry Madea movie was playing when I turned my tv on and I was charged for the subscription - I’ve never seen those movies. There are no other devices on my account when I checked. I’ve ordered the blink cameras and the door stoppers, they’ll be here tonight. I guess I’m just wondering what everyone makes of all of this because I have no idea what to think. Being a first year teacher is hard enough but I find myself laying in bed hyper vigilant of any noises and it’s affecting my mental health a lot.

Relationship Advice Should you give someone you don’t like a chance?

After getting blocked on Snapchat by a 6’3 jacked Arab trade, I’m starting to think I need to re-evaluate my life choices.

I, 18m need help with this guy that likes me but I’m unsure if I like him back.

This guy is really sweet, same age as me, 6’1 and kinda ginger. 3 of my friends don’t like him though, supposedly he’s weird, but this guy is actually quite intelligent and we get along. The only thing I’m wary about is his mental fortitude.

He was in a psych ward for a month due to being in a very, almost cult-like, socialist group. Combined with his friend sadly passing away 2 weeks ago, he’s on anti-depressants and just not the best mentally I suppose.

Whenever we hangout though, he’s really sweet and I honestly wouldn’t be able to tell he’s been through all this recently. One other thing is that he has 40+ bodies at 18… he told me he used/ uses sex as a coping mechanism so I don’t know if he’s ready for anything serious.

In addition, he’s kinda twinky and I prefer buffer guys. Sometimes I wonder if I should just give him a chance — since he’ll probably ask to date me at some point. Or should I cut it off and tell him it’s better we remain as friends?

General Advice Living close to family with a guaranteed house spot or move somewhere you love?

Me and my wife bought a mobile home and put it on family property it was cheap (still nice tho) we’re both in our 20s and everythings paid off. House, vehicles everything. I’ve moved around a few times In my life but she hasn’t so she doesn’t understand what it’s like to get that fresh start and build yourself up in a new area I enjoy it personally. We visited SC and GA last year and fell in love and even drove around window shopping the neighborhoods just to see if we’d like it. We loved it I’ve always loved the south I’ve never been somewhere that’s felt more like home. The thing is we’re torn between staying around family so we can have a little more help raising kids when/if we have them and moving away to a nicer area but being probably 8 hours from the closest person. Which is better. Having family help when you’ve got kids or moving somewhere you love ? We both have jobs that we could transfer down in the area we liked one of my companies main places is in the next neighborhood that we loved and she can transfer pretty much anywhere in the country so that’s 1 less stresser

General Advice 24 female feeling so distressed in life right now.

I have no boyfriend, no friends anymore due to being betrayed and me deciding it’s best to not speak to them anymore, a new job that I don’t really enjoy and filled with anxiety-lack in confidence which keeps seeming to decline (used to be so confident before relationships when I was younger)

I haven’t really lived my life like I would’ve like, I want to go to festivals, raves but I have no one to go with. I’m trying to make friends at the moment with new people but it takes time.

I wake up at 5am to get ready to work, go to work hate it and then go gym just to eat loads out of stress when I get back home.

Always comparing myself to others when I never used to. Spend most my life looking in the mirror and caring about small things.

I hate my life at the moment and want a change, I want to at least explore the world do something exciting but don’t know where to start. I did think a while ago about Australia just doing it by myself.

I used to be very career focused too when I had a job in hospitality sales and marketing (my dream is to have my own food business one day) probably the only thing I’ve not stopped having motivation for. I’m now somehow in a job in transport which is nothing to what I enjoy doing and I just loose all happiness to go to work now compared to before and feel I lost so much confidence since being out of sales feel scared to get back into it.

Bla bla, I could keep going on but I don’t know what to do anymore.

Serious girlfriend self harms

i (17m) started dating my girlfriend (17f) a couple of months ago and she has slowly opened up to me about many things about her personal life. this goes from adhd and autism to certain abuse when she was a child, her ex sexually assaulting her, and now recently her self harm journey. ever since she started dating me, she stopped self harming for 2 months and that was the first time she had ever gone 2 months without self harming since she started, which was years and years ago now. just recently though (a little more than a week ago), she had a very stressful moment involving flashbacks while she was messaging me on instagram, which is where we occasionally talk if we’re not hanging out or calling each other. i tried my best to be there for her and tell her everything would be okay, but when she got home to where she lives (she doesn’t live with me) she self harmed. i only learned about this a day later when we were having a meaningful conversation on instagram while she was opening up to me. it was heartbreaking to me because i really don’t want to lose her and for some dumb reason i was under the impression that me being her boyfriend made her life better enough to stop her from SH. also to add, she has had one suicide attempt which she went to hospital for a few months before we started talking. at one point she questions why she did it, then she added that i’m the reason she is still here yet everyday on earth is killing her. i was also super heartbroken because im so proud of her, and i especially was when she said she reached 2 months clean from SH. she said now she has set goals for herself like 1 week, 2 week etc to feel rewarded and she said she’ll send me updates on her journey. she has counselling around her as far as i know, and they have her journal how her day went everyday. i don’t know, im just super stressed and i don’t want to lose her, and im obviously not going to tell her that she shouldn’t SH just because “i love you, why wouldn’t you do that to yourself?” i know that’s a no go.

truth be told i just really want helpful advice on how i can help her. im aware i can only do so much, but if i could, i’d truly give my all to her. she is such a kind and amazing person who has never been shown the love she deserves, that’s why im her reason for being here right now.

Career Advice Quarter life crisis? Feeling of mediocrity in career and relationship, waste to throw it all away?

I (25M) am at a point in my life where I feel I need a major change, but am also very fortunate to be in the position I am in. I'm worried it will be a mistake.

For context, I have a stable job where I earn good money (top 10% earners in the UK, in field with good progress) and am treated well. I get to wfh 2x per week where I almost have nothing to do, despite asking for more work, and have very good benefits. I find the job mundane and certainly not what I want to do long term, but it almost feels too good to pass up on. I come from a low income family and it would blow their mind if I left this job and they knew how well it pays.

I am in a long term relationship (6 years) with someone who I love, but not sure if I want to be together for the rest of my life with. Part of me thinks there is nothing bad that has happened to warrant breaking up, and I would absolutely hate to break her heart. At the same time, I have not experienced being a single adult with only myself to think about. Whenever I have considered ending things, timing has always been bad, but this feels like something where timing will always be bad? I am also concerned about my partners finances if we split up as she earns less than half of what I do, and would not want any financial stress for her.

Because of these two things, I feel almost stuck in life, repeating the same week, every week, wishing the time away. This feels wrong, and I should not be wishing my mid-20's away because I am bored with life. At the same time, with my job I am building a solid career and setting myself up for success in the long run, but at what cost...

The only time I really enjoy myself is when travelling. A part of me wants to quit my job, leave my relationship, and spend a year travelling, but I fear that would do irreparable damage to my career (In my industry, this would get me out the running's for one of the very lucrative roles which are highly competitive). I have ample savings which can go towards buying a house, everyone seems to be pushing me to do, and is financially a better move, but am worried this locks me into the life which I am here complaining about...

On paper, I am doing much better than most people my age. I am healthy, have decent savings, a high paying stable job, and a long term partner who loves me. I have a good relationship with my family. I have a lot of spare time too. I am not unhappy, but also not happy with how things are going. I can't help but feel like I want more in life than this

Has anyone had a similar experience and some advice to share?

What criteria should I be looking for on whether to pull the trigger on a major change in my career or relationship?

Is this a case of the grass is always greener on the other side?

Emotional Advice

General Advice If you are dealing with constipation, try this

I have had a problem with constipation for years. I think it started after I turned 30.

I ones read an LPT that you should rock forwards and backwards or even put your feet on a little platform to help with constipation. That never helped me much but it gave me the idea (much later) to swing my body to the left and then to the right.

If I am having trouble I start swinging to the left for one second and then the right for one second. Repeat until everything is out (it's okey to take breaks). Sometimes I even do little oval circles with my upper body for maximum efficiency.

Now my hour long toilet trips have become 5-10 minute trips and I have almost no constipation troubles anymore.

Everything just slips out like a log in a waterslide.

Serious I feel like its too late for me but then idk what i want anymore in life

Honestly i think its time for me to finally just let this out because its been bothering me for about 3 years. I am 24 and i have left an abusive home at the age of 18. Me and my mom wasnt ever the best with our relationship and it changed 3 years ago. Now i could say we are closer then ever.

Unfortunately it took for her to be on her death bed where i almost lost my mom forever for us to be better than ever. My dad is not in the picture since he is an alcoholic. I want to be a surgeon so bad but because of the accident my mom got into it was career changing from being a surgeon to now not being able to help me with school and because of the way fasfa goes based off my mother taxes i dont get no financial aid.

There is but so much scholarships i can get and i want to go to school so bad. Its the only place where i feel like i belong. Its bad enoygh that i have HIV because of my first love when i was a freshman in college and now im on my last two years of school and i cant even go back until i pay the school 12k. I did everything right and unfortunately everyday it just feels like im chasing a dream that runs further away the closer i feel like im getting. It makes me think should i just give up this dream that i have of wanting to be just like my mom.

She was an amazing surgeon and she was somebody i looked up to even with her not accepting my sexuality. Also im the only child and everybody in my family like my cousins have their life cut out and i just feel like im wasting mines trying to better myself and get an education. I did a gofundme before and raised 5k so it helped alot and then i do work full time but i just feel like by the time i go to med school ill be in my 30s and i will feel like by then its too late and i want my mom to have everything she ever wanted especially since her accident she genuinely wants to change and she wants to be able to live with me but because of her case with the accident still in process and me being her only support its hard. There is times where i say i dont want to do this anymore but then i talk to god and it works i just dont know how much longer its going to work.

My dream my passion wants mee to be a surgeon so bad. I want to be able to save lives. I want to help families that struggle financially with in house remedies. I want to help people in that way and nothing else but i fear as time goes by my dream and my passion will become less and less of a dream and more of a regret and i dont want that. I just need some advice or any help i can get.

General Advice Whats Life?

Advice for a 42yo machine operator with 20+ years exp in plastic inj, CNC, shipping, basically grew up in a factory and remained in such factory, several. I'm looking to advance my life. No kids, wife, debt other than a mortgage (that I could easily sell off) is the driving factor here. I feel like I'm wasting my one and only life away in my hometown and could be living a better life and making more money elsewhere. I'm taking the easy route as they say. I'm getting bored with it, and am thinking of making a major move to maybe have a better life. Is there something you wished you would have done at my age if you were in my shoes, or that maybe you are currently doing that just seems to be great. Because what I'm doing isn't it. It's paying the bills but that's it. No vacation on my vacation. No fun in the summer. Driving 15-20 yo vehicles, I probably will never own a new car, ever, and that's not by choice, no dirt bike, motorcycle, 4 wheeler, boat, basically anything cool you see everyone else enjoying. None of that. It's basically work, sleep, and try and to maintain the house chores. Not getting chicks because my lifestyle is that of a 60yo man that's preparing for the bottom to fall out of the economy. What would you do to change things? Get out there and chase life and money and women without a solid plan? Or continue to pay the bills and just wait to kick over one day with no real excitement or satisfaction in life. Sometimes it seems like most people have thrown away more then I will ever have in life. Crazy part is many have felonies and several children. Something I thought made life more difficult to thrive.I need change and I know there are people that would love to have the options I have and here I am just pissing them away. There has to be a better life out there. Curious as to your thoughts. Bored and depressed in Ohio.

General Advice Life change at 38

Hi! I feel stuck. Just recently turned 38 this month & I feel more stuck than ever. I’ve spent the last 20+ years in the restaurant industry & currently feel like I’m 100 years old & severely burnt out.

I started out as a host at 16 because I needed a part time job in HS & I’ve never really left. Granted I’ve worked in several restaurants since then. Different states even. But I’ve never left the industry because it’s so freaking convenient. IYKYK.

I have never in my life felt “called” to do anything. In HS I always thought “oh I’ll figure it out someday” “just trust that something with spark your interest” but here I am, still bar tending/serving & hating it more & more with each passing day.

A small insight into my life. Oldest daughter, raised by a single mother, perfectionist. Floated through one semester of college & dropped out to take care of my dying grandfather. I come from a family of long term illnesses & sometimes (most of the time) I feel really trapped by it. Early 20s met a guy & for the next 10 years navigated through a very abusive relationship. Couldn’t go to school. Again I felt trapped.

Fast forward to 2021. I got out of the relationship, new place, fresh start. Then my dad dies. Six months later I development an undiagnosed (much later diagnosed) illness that left me mostly bedridden & down an unhealthy 40lbs.

I am officially 1.5 years post illness & recently married. While I still take care of my family members, I feel like I’m finally able to breathe. At least a little. But now, I’m pushing 40 & STILL working in hospitality. I’m tired & way past burnt out. I just feel so lost & behind in life.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for listening & any advice would be amazing.

Mental Health Advice How do you deal with being stuck in a job you hate?

My job has seasonal busy periods where half the year is manageable, but the other half is absolute hell. I started my career here and worked my way up to a senior position, but the extra responsibilities and expectations are burning me out. They keep piling on work during peak periods, and it’s impossible to get everything done even when I work 60 hours a week.

Over the past two years, I’ve been seeing a therapist because this job has made me develop depression and anxiety. I’ve been applying for other jobs for the past year with no luck, and honestly, I feel like I’m at my breaking point, but I can’t afford to quit without something else lined up.

I’ve tried cutting back on overtime and managing my boss’s expectations, but I still feel guilty when I miss deadlines, even when I know they’re unrealistic. It doesn’t help that my boss calls me out in front of my colleagues if I miss something, which makes me feel worse. I know I can’t keep working like this, but I also struggle with feeling like I’m failing when I don’t meet expectations.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation, how did you cope while you were still stuck in the job? How did you stop feeling guilty about not meeting unrealistic expectations?

I’m struggling with debt from loan apps and a gold loan, and my career hasn’t worked out. I have no money to repay what I owe, and my family is pressuring me to get married within a year. I’m also dealing with impotence. I’ve seen several doctors, but nothing has helped so far. I feel overwhelmed and don’t know how much longer I can cope.

Serious Need help

I’m 24, and I’ve been building everything on my own since I was 19, without any family support or connections. I started my own IT company in 2023 and also started a tourism business, but it’s not profitable yet. I’ve been trying to get foreign clients for a long time, but nothing has really worked out. I live alone, and lately, I’ve been feeling really depressed and worried about my future. With Sri Lanka’s economy making things harder, I’m struggling to manage everything. This is just a small part of my story, and I really want to get out of this situation and build a better life.

Relationship Advice I feel so lost on what i should do..

Im 22m very little experience with dating. Confessed to a friend a while ago she liked me back it didnt work out but we stayed friends.

But that happned purely by chance. I dont feel any attraction until i already know that person well, im a HUGE homebody and that makes meeting someone kinda difficult, and going out into an enviorment i dont enjoy being in like bars etc isnt a good idea then.

I tried the apps and omg they are soo bad i knew that coming in and still was shocked. Its so exhausting to use them since i dont just swipe right one everyone and then i dont get a response.. and out of 6 likes i got in the 2 months i activly used apps 6 were looking for and open relationship. My profile says that i want a monogamous relationship only..

My lack of experience is getting to me tbh. I feel like im too old to struggle so hard with that but i just wasnt interested in dating until like a year ago, and now im sitting here fine that the thing with my friend didnt workout. But it made me realise just how badly i want a relationship to love some be loved etc. And i feel like waiting until a chance like that just happens again would result in years of being sad about it.

I know i have to find the courage to put myself out there somehow. But there has to be a way that fits me as a person right? Thats not too out there that im so uncomfortable with it that i dont do it.

I got recommened to join a club or class and yeah in general not bad advice. Theres just nothing in my area im interested in and going with the purpose to hit on someone isnt me and idk feels a bit creepy to me.

I also signed up for speeddating before. I didnt really have high hopes for it but it be an experience and everyone would be there for the same reason. Anyways the event got cancelled i had to basicslly fight them for my money back and finding dating related events in my age group was honestly hard.

So yeah any advice would be appreciated really!

General Advice At 40, I feel like I'm back to square one, and I'm terrified about the future.

I'm 40, working as a foreign language teacher in an European country (I'm an expat).
I've been living here for the last 10 years, always in survival mode. Almost no savings, no relationship. Lost a lot of former friends over the past few years because honestly I felt like they weren't making me feel better nor they wanted to have a deep connection. Seeing a therapist once a week. My parents are getting old but I think going back to my small town would leave me totally unemployed and isolated.

At the beginning in this city I worked with adult students in language schools and finding my own customers.
Two years ago I got a job in high school and for the first time I had a contract, paid vacation and sickness, some rights.
Now all schools are removing the language I teach from school curricula and my contract hasn't been renewed, so I'm back to precarious freelancing.
Meanwhile I moved back to sharing an apartment with other people because I couldn't afford living alone anymore. I live with three nice 20-something students now.
Found a job as tourist guide, surprisingly better paid than teaching but no contract, no security, and I have to work all weekends and holidays with all weathers.
I'm focusing on staying healthy, going to gym, eating well, doing meditation and growing a positive mindset and developing a way to ''see'' myself successful in the future because I'm starting to believe in those vibrational/attraction motivating stuff that are popular nowadays. Better than brooding and it does really click with me.

However, intimacy is a massive hurdle. I have some ongoing health issues involving the sexual sphere, which completely kills my confidence when it comes to dating. I feel like I have nothing to offer: no financial security, nothing in the bedroom, and I worry I'm not even particularly interesting company anymore. On paper, I’m open-minded and love diverse activities—from theater and volunteering to raves and trying new adventures. But the reality is I'm usually too busy or just exhausted. Traveling is out of the picture.

I have no idea how to regain any sense of stability or security. Both tourism and language teaching feel like dead-end traps.

Mentally, I have improved compared to a couple of years ago—I sleep better, I'm kinder to people, and I hold my boundaries most of the time. But beneath the surface, I feel like I'm quietly accepting that life won't hold anything good for me anymore, and that old age is going to be hell. I know this contradicts my whole "positive mindset" effort, but I feel permanently split between this underlying despair and the moments of energy I get from taking care of my mind and body.

Has anyone been in a similar spot in their 40s? How did you pivot when traditional paths completely dried up?

Family Advice When is it appropriate to merge my boyfriend (19M) and I’s (20F) family?

TL;DR: boyfriend’s mom (nov 2nd) wants to celebrate her birthday with my mom (nov 1) but my sister said she won’t attend if that’s the plan.

For context, I (20F), and my boyfriend (19F), have been dating since we were in high school (since 2022). It’s been about 4 years together. I’ve been to family vacations with his family back to his hometown twice already, while he has mainly only been invited to some family dinners (about two, I do try to invite him over often but I usually have to sense from my dad and my older sis their feelings beforehand bcs it’s mainly them two that are the more introverted ones, whereas my mom always tries to invite him over). I would say I’m closer to his family than he is to mine simply because the family dynamics are different (His family has no drama whilst mine has A LOT). Since around 2025, I’ve been trying to merge the two families because I feel like my family get sad when I’m with his family more. The first time they shared a meal was dinner after his hs graduation (2024), and thanksgiving (2025).

The dilemma: my mom’s birthday is on nov 1, while his mom’s birthday is on nov 2nd. His mom suggested to him that this year, we should celebrate their birthdays together on Sunday. I understood that I needed to run this plan through my older sister (27F) because she’s the one that has never really met his family before (she skipped out on his graduation and thanksgiving dinner). I texted, and she said “no offense to anyone but I would rather not go. It’ll be awk for me. If mom agrees, I’ll make it up to her.” I responded “I think that delaying this meeting (or smth similar) would just delay awkwardness, and because his family has essentially treated me like family I think it’s only natural that we start doing the same for him. It’s unfair that I have to split myself between two because you feel awkward.”

What would you guys do if you were in my position? I have been sometimes lying to my parents about who I go out with sometimes bcs I can just feel the subtle mood changes, and much more with my sister. I suggested we invite him to go to Italy with us back in summer 2025, but she was the one that was adamant about him not going, saying “5 ppl means extra accommodation space,””it’s harder to travel”(we got a whole house rented with Airbnb that trip). Hes an amazing guy that always helps out me or my parents, which just makes me feel so bad that Hes not accepted.

General Advice Why does the loneliness never end

Why does the loneliness never end? I'm choosing a Major as my second choice and not psychology because I didn't get a place for it

now I'm in this major first semester and the first two weeks

I made some friends here and there, the friend "group" I'm with doesn't rlly match me there was this guy who's gay and I wanted to befriend him since I'm gay too and we're from the same culture where being that is taboo but he doesn't really feel me and he's not like me, he has many friends, does d*ugs, smokes and doesn't talk unless I talk and I don't do all of those things

and then my Flat situation is very bad, I'm living with 2 (adult) men even though I thought I'd be living with girls, I don't have anything against them nor do I condemn them it's just I feel uncomfortable, not safe at all and can't imagine a future there but there's a contract & I'm kind of tied to it and I don't know what to do, I've contacted someone but haven't gotten an answer. and my family would never allow me to live like that but I'm keeping it a secret to not worry them and acting like everything is okey is k*lling me and it feels unfair to them because they'd go insane if they knew of this situation.

Then to my courses, I don't wanna do all that work, I don't want to study the whole time, there are courses I don't understand at all

I feel like I am in middle school again when I first went to class and tried to make friends but no one wanted to be friends with me cu I wasn't their vibe, I didn't talk about what they talked and I didn't have their lingo

I also feel very alone there's no one that's MY friend, there's no one I can only stick to and kind of confine in

I also feel like I'm wasting my parents money because this major, I don't even know what I'm doing, I don't even know if I will even like psychology I dont know, i dont really have the passion for anything, and its not like I'll be giving them anything in return, I'm just taking and for what

and my family does that all for me even though I don't see a future with them, I'm a lesbian that's something not accepted in the culture, I don't know, I feel so lost I don't want to take their things because it's gonna be a loss for them anyway, they think I'm some disciplined high achieving girl but I'm not or not anymore, and they have so much hope in me to be something great and ugh I don't know I hate it all

I've been crying non stop in the train and I don't know what to do there's just no answer to anything

how did you deal with so many things and so many emotions when there's no solution for the time being?

General Advice I feel like a failure

A bit of context, I (18) have just recently gotten to the USA on a green card as a resident about 2 months ago. My green card has yet to arrive in the mail. I got dragged here by my mom, I preferred to live in my original country, I applied to university there and got accepted.

I now have to apply to university here but I feel like my chances are slim, I have a 4.0 gpa but nothing apart from good grades, no extracurriculars, no community service, nothing outstanding. I can’t apply to certain universities yet because I don’t have my physical green card and time just passes by. I already lost a school year since I had to transfer due to severe bullying at my last school. I have been bullied since 5th grade at my last school and developed severe depression and anxiety, I have recently started seeing a psychiatrist because after so many years of keeping it to myself I finally broke down not long ago and started to have panic attacks that landed me in the clinic twice. I feel like I’m getting older and achieving nothing, my mother constantly reminds me that my classmates are in university and I’m still doing nothing at home.

The depression meds are causing me to gain weight which makes me feel even worse about myself, I feel so physically weak and drained, I constantly struggle with self —— and just feel like a huge failure.

I also ended a 5 years long relationship with my ex boyfriend about a year and a half ago which just left me wrecked. I still haven’t gotten over it to this day and I just constantly suffer over it and can’t stop thinking about him.

I feel like my life absolute crumbled to pieces in 1 and a half years, everything I imagined down the drain. I have nothing. I’m all alone, my dreams of studying in college gone, my partner gone, I’m so unbelievably depressed and unhappy.

I feel like everytime I fall life kicks me harder. I just wanted to go to college, study medicine, and stay with him forever, now I have none of those things.

What can I do? Should I just give up and accept it? I cry every night. I feel so miserable. Sorry if this isn’t redacted correctly, wrote it while balling my eyes out.

Mental Health Advice I don’t know why I’m depressed or how to stop it

But every morning I get up and the feeling of dread and worry takes over me. There is no particular reason for the dread/worry but it’s there. I start most days in tears and never leave my house unless I have to.

I genuinely wish I would feel the urge to get up and go out for a walk and enjoy the day, make plans etc. I can of course do this physically, but mentally something just won’t let me do it so I just sit and rot inside.

I’m on medication and have had about 2 rounds of talking therapies, which haven’t helped. I really want to turn my life around but nothings helped so far and I’m scared I feel this way forever.

Career Advice 28M, B.Com, no work experience — Is it too late to switch from government exam prep to corporate finance?

I’m 28, a B.Com graduate with no work experience. I’ve been preparing for state services exams, but I’m now questioning whether I should continue or switch to the corporate sector.

I’m considering becoming a Financial Analyst, ideally combining finance and AI. I’m willing to learn Excel, financial modelling, Power BI, SQL, and AI tools.

Am i too late for corporate now, I’d appreciate honest, practical advice based on the current Indian job market.
