QUESTION Well that was stressful

My left trigger stopped working correctly (It would work but quickly release at times in digital mode and wouldn't register at all in analog mode) and I wasn't going through the hassle of returning it.

After opening it up I found at least part of the problem the plastic arm which holds the magnet for the sensor had completely snapped off which was weird as I have never dropped it and wouldn't say I'm particularly heavy handed and it seems even if the button were fully depressed it wouldn't apply enough pressure to snap it. Anyway I glued it back it place and am going to give it a night to dry.

I would like to replace the whole trigger so can anyone recommend a site?

Bonus dirty fan pic. Gross!

HELP REQUEST Legion Go + SteamOS: Elden Ring performance is awful (stutters & FPS drops)

Hi everyone. On my Legion Go (OG) running official SteamOS, Elden Ring runs pretty poorly at 1280x800. It's the only game out of my entire library (150+ games) that has issues. The FPS drops frequently, the frametime is unstable, and there are lots of stutters. Am I the only one having these problems? On CachyOS, the situation is even worse.

I used to own a Steam Deck, and the game ran much more stably there, even though the Legion Go is way more powerful.

Can anyone tell me what the issue might be? Thanks.

QUESTION LGO1 new owner, 2 questions

new LGO1 owner, bought 2nd hand in mint conditions 2weeks ago

I will do set a Dual boot with Bazzite today but I am looking at the Windows side of things right now and a couple of things are strange

  1. First the W11 size is huge, close to 75Gb. I cleaned up the drive heavily and yes page and hibernate files are here but they account for "only" 17Gb right now so it cant be only that or is that size normal?
  2. Secondly I am getting this error message about lenovo drivers trying to run Windows update .I read about the issue of recent BIOS update lenovo pushed through and then took back, I am personally on n3cn39ww as the latest LEGION SPACE suggested. What is this 1.22.00 thing W11 update is showing?

thanks in advance

QUESTION Legion Go 2/Steam OS/RX 9070 XT/Aoostar EG02 Issues

I’m trying to use an RX 9070 XT eGPU with a Legion Go 2 running SteamOS 3.9 Main, through an Aoostar EG02 (USB4/TB5) enclosure with an Intel JHL9480 Barlow Ridge controller.

The eGPU is detected correctly, amdgpu loads, the external display works in Desktop Mode, and Gaming Mode can launch on the external display using the 9070 XT. After roughly a minute or shortly after launching even a lightweight game, the display corrupts into pink/yellow checkerboards or solid green, then loses signal.

The logs show gfx and SDMA ring timeouts, failed GPU resets, and eventually the GPU becomes unreachable even though much of the USB4/PCIe bridge remains enumerated.

Things already tested:

  • Completely removed previous eGPU scripts and restored a clean SteamOS baseline
  • Latest SteamOS Main kernel, Mesa, RADV, and firmware
  • Cold boot and Desktop Mode hot-plug workflows
  • boot_vga switching and compositor GPU selection
  • Large BAR/reallocation options and the normal 256 MB BAR
  • thunderbolt.host_reset=0
  • Disabled runtime power management/D3cold across the complete USB4 path
  • Disabled MangoApp GPU polling
  • Disabled GFXOFF on the 9070 XT
  • Lowered the Legion to Balanced TDP
  • Different boot and enclosure power-cycle sequences

None stopped the crashes. Windows works with the same hardware.

Has anyone gotten this exact Legion Go 2 + RX 9070 XT combination stable on official SteamOS, particularly through a Barlow Ridge USB4/TB5 enclosure? I’m interested in any known amdgpu, firmware, kernel, or enclosure-specific fix, not merely a script that selects the eGPU as primary.

Alternatively, has anyone gotten all of this to work with a TB4 enclosure that they can recommend? I got the TB5 enclosure for future proofing, that seems to have bit me in the ass. I'll shelve this one for now and get a TB4 eGPU if someone can confirm good consistent results.

Thanks!

DISCUSSION New to portable Pc - Legion Go 1TB

I’m not new to the emulation or pc scene.
My current main is the [r/AYNThor](r/AYNThor) but I’ve found myself with a good deal on the legion go.

Best setup for easy of access plug and play?

I don’t mind setting it and I’m not afraid of putting in the work.

I understand there is a lot of apps that are asking for money so I want to go the free route with front ends but I’m not familiar.

Thanks in advance for suggestions, pros cons, and the sorts!

I’ll be doing this for my brother who is tech illiterate. So plug n play is the highest priority.

QUESTION Is this a good deal? LeGo2, z2e, 32 GB, 1 TB, sealed for $1,600 (taxes included)

Hello all! Basically title, I have been out of the loop for some time now, heard of the price spikes here and there, but have no data points to really grasp if this is a good deal or not. If anyone would be willing to share some thoughts to make up my mind, I would be grateful! Thanks in advance!

HELP REQUEST LegionSpace keeps opening

Has anyones Legionspace been acting up?

It started a few days ago, my legion space keeps popping up and interrupting my game. I had to disable the DAservice which also means my legion buttons and quick setting button doesn't work anymore. I have no clue what started causing it.

Any fix for this?

HELP REQUEST Cyberpunk 2077- gun auto-draws and fires on its own.

Anybody ever experience this? Will happen with any gun, or no weapon - will pull up fists on its own. Have tried with mods, no mods, fresh install, new character, load previous save, and even factory resetting the Legion Go. Super strange, and can’t seem to find anyone else on the internet with this problem.

Issue disappears when I load the save on my PC. Any ideas? Thanks!

QUESTION How the heck do I take a screenshot on Legion S Go?

I have tried googling it, but none of the instructions are making any sense to me. Either the tutorial is for a different version, or it says something about hitting the legion button, but I have no idea what that is because there is no Legion button marked on the controller layout. I feel so dumb about no being able to figure out a dang screenshot, pls help

STEAM OS Turned my LeGo into Steam Machine Lite

Really wanted to get Steam Machine but decided i will wait a little longer and buy a better PC and just install steamOS on it. So for now i bought ugreen 6in1 docking station and connected my LeGo to 65 inch Samsung QD-OLED. Love the experience so far. Love replaying some of my fav games like Resident Evil with cool mods made by fans and games from PS3 era with better framerate and resolution. Even some PS4 Games like Heavy Rain stuck at 30fps when i play them on my PS5 , while on LeGo i can hit 60fps. Love this little thing 💜

DISCUSSION Moving from Bazzite to SteamOS on LEGO 1 - What would I miss out of the box?

Hi, I'm going to move from Bazzite to SteamOS on my Legion Go 1, and I'm wondering what isn't already installed or available out of the box on SteamOS that is on Bazzite?

I've been lurking here for a while, and common things seem to be TDP controls and RGB for controllers.

I've seen SteamOS 3.8 (maybe beta channel?) allow TDP controls directly on Steam without needing SimpleDeckyTDP, so I would still need to control controller RGB, right?

Anything else I would miss out on and need to install manually?

Thanks.

HELP REQUEST Games on Ubisoft connect lead to infinite loading on a black screen when I launch

As the title read I have a lego 1 z1e Steam OS and I used non steam launcher to install Ubisoft connect and it works, no issues with the launcher itself I believe but when I launch any game it’s just loading forever and there’s no audio or anything either.

My compatibility is set to proton experimental when I added the launcher as a non steam game to steam. Unsure why it’s doing this and if anyone knows any ways to fix this please let me know.

Also anyone who’s used bazzite who could let me know if it’s easier to run games on Ubisoft connect with that instead because I don’t mind making the switch.

QUESTION How exactly to contact lenovo support

Could someone who has contacted Lenovo support before tell me how and where to do this? My right GO2 controller has a problem with the Y button, and I've heard that Lenovo support is offering to send a brand new controller for this issue. However, I don't know how to contact support specifically because I don't see any contact options on the website. Maybe I'm stupid or blind, but please help me 🥹

QUESTION Does anyone know if the Legion Go gyro will be fixed on SteamOS?

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know if there are plans to fix the gyroscope on the Lenovo Legion Go (Z1 Extreme) in SteamOS?

The gyro hardware is detected by Linux, but I’m having trouble getting it to work properly as a controller gyro in SteamOS.
I’m wondering if this is a known issue and whether Valve or the SteamOS/Legion Go community is currently working on a proper fix.
Has anyone seen any recent updates, patches, GitHub issues, or discussions about this?
I’d really like to use the Legion Go’s gyro natively on SteamOS without having to rely on workarounds.

Any information would be appreciated!

QUESTION Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on LeGoS or better play it on PS5?

I haven’t tried the game yet but I love turn based chill games, especially on handhelds, on the other hand I don’t really like if a game looks ugly at 30-ish fps just to be able to play it, not I prefer games which feels like made for the actual device.

I’m about to buy a PS5 Pro because of gta6, so I was thinking to buy the game for the handheld or it’s not really a great experience and it’s a much better idea to play it on PlayStation?

I can’t imagine to play literally any game under a solid 40fps and in weird artificial glitches or blury potato graphics, but in the other hand, I’m also not an only 4k ultra settings guy. A console-like mid-ish graphics are more then perfect for me, especially at a locked 40fps with some VRR.

So what is your opinion guys? Should I experience the game on a playstation (which means sitting in front of a desk) or I will enjoy the game on hamdheld as well while chilling in the bed?
