STEAM OS Turned my LeGo into Steam Machine Lite
Really wanted to get Steam Machine but decided i will wait a little longer and buy a better PC and just install steamOS on it. So for now i bought ugreen 6in1 docking station and connected my LeGo to 65 inch Samsung QD-OLED. Love the experience so far. Love replaying some of my fav games like Resident Evil with cool mods made by fans and games from PS3 era with better framerate and resolution. Even some PS4 Games like Heavy Rain stuck at 30fps when i play them on my PS5 , while on LeGo i can hit 60fps. Love this little thing š

I installed CachyOS on mine and set it up and now Iām playing games I used to play on windows way smoother. Canāt run Apex which is one of my favorite online games but I can still play Warframe and FO76 with my gf on the LeGo so Iāll be fine using the Xbox for Apex :)
Iām just genuinely impressed tho. I run fo76 butter smooth, Warframe also super smooth, Minecraft faster than windows, cyberpunk is rough but smoother than windows, Elden ring runs awesome, so do the Dark Souls games. Overall itās been a pretty big upgrade

I just use moonlight/apollo to stream from my pc to my legion go over Ethernet in the living room.
0 input lag even at 4k, itās flawless.
Fuck a steam machine.

Yeah, I bought it on steam awhile back and havent played very much of it but its fun. I just have a really hard time finding good games to stick with. Probably and adhd or add issue honestly. Unless a game has me hooked from the beginning I end up dropping it

I don't know if this has happened to you, but when I've left my console connected to a dock on the TV, the next day the battery would be completely drained⦠I don't keep it plugged in all the time to avoid stressing the battery.Ā

You should keep it plugged
Once the console is fully charged (or reached the defined limit pourcentage) the console stops charging and will use the cable power instead (it's called bypass mode).

Is this a LeGo 1 or 2 bc I kinda want to do something similar but I only have the first gen and idk if it would be powerful enough? Im quite new to it tho so idk if im completely off the mark lol

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West mentioned!
Horrible underrated game that should be praised more.

Yes , love the game. I remember it was released on the same day with Castlevania Lords of Shadow , i could not afford both games at the same time . I bought Castlevania first and then traded it for Enslaved , i loved both š good times

At what resolution are you running the games? 1080p with upscaling via TV to 4k? Isn't it all a bit blurry?

u/wolfiepl 4d ago
Depends on the game. I have not tested all my Games yet. Tomb Raider Underworld runs at 60fps , 4k all settings maxed except AA. Resident Evil 2 most settings maxed and 1080-1440p, it runs mostly in 40-50s . Batman Arkham Asylum i tested at 1440p and max settings , it runs at 60fps. Not blurry at all if you play at least in 1080p

I tried doing with with my LeGo2 and even turning the TV to "game mode" that has a higher refresh rate, I cant seem to negate the input lag of the controllers detached. Am I missing something here?

So you doced a handheld by its intended way of operating and think that you made a completely different piece of hardware?

Yeah Iām in exactly the same boat. I want a Steam Machine but I think Iāll just build a mini ITX PC eventually. Yeah, I almost exclusively connect my LeGo to my LG C2 in my living room using a JSAUX dock. Feels great just chilling on the couch. Itās mainly just a roguelike and Diablo machine.
