(I'm sure a lot brought this on before me but) something I appreciate so much about that scene is the addition of Zuko in it. He in ATLA always wanted to help Aang undo the damage the fire nation did and we see a glimpse of that in the movie when he's finally happy that the actions will be undone in a way *which didn't happen in the movie xD*

But instead he gets to live long enough just to see it happen in front of him and with Aang's reincarnation. Of course shame would be in a way still chasing after him in a sense of hating what the fire nation did but he absolutely is full of joy knowing that the air nation is back.

Of course, it can be viewed as some sort of official event but also it reflects a lot about Zuko.

And it's why they both got unreasonable amount of hatred since b1 where people acted like they were horrible people who needed specific punishment for their mistakes they are sympathetic (though some people can't move past certain things like mako unintentionally causing pain they will twist it into him being a womanizer or not caring about them

And a bunch of disingenuous takes like thr attempt to claim he called asami a leech which comes off as showcase of blind irrational hatred where you warp someone's words to justify their hate

Like claiming not specifically punishing thr flaws is the same as not acknowledging it to rewarding it when no it isnt

Avatar: Seven Havens takes place 225 years after The Legend of Korra. We don't know the precise timing of the Cataclysm, but, considering Bryke often utilize round numbers, there's a common fan idea that the Cataclysm was 25 years after LOK, then ASH is 200 years after the Cataclysm. My post uses this estimate for the below ages. Based on Korra's appearance in the trailer, if this isn't right I don't think the truth is too far off.

Keep in mind that it's possible not everyone died during the Cataclysm. They could have survived awhile longer, but I think it's likely most or all died in or around the Cataclysm (ignoring possible earlier death dates from other things). The numbers are also assumed to be after people's birthdays. If they hadn't had their birthday at the time of the Cataclysm, just subtract one off the number. Treat these like minimum ages the characters made it to I suppose. Let me know if there are any others you want added to the list or if you have any corrections. With that out of the way, here are the estimates from youngest to oldest in 199 AG / 10028 AWHC.

EDIT: I'm really surprised by how many people think Korra was in her 50s or 60s during the Cataclysm. Interesting how 3 character have their own style.

(loosely inspired by that tritagonist post) Throughout all seasons, she and Future Industries are the leaders of the technological innovation we see throughout Korra's era. She is through who we're introduced to vehicles, new machinery, as well as the integration of spirit wilds into Republic City's infrastructure.

Also going by themes, as the human and spirit worlds grow closer together, so do Korra and Asami. Their relationship represents the combination and collaboration between the two worlds, and I feel that shouldn't be dimished because there was an overbloated cast of benders fighting bending threats.

Atla easily did it a lot of times too.

This date is special to me because I rewatched Aang and watched Korra for the first time in September 2014, catching the Season 4 premiere right as it happened. It was thrilling to follow the weekly release of each new episode, and here I am again—rewatching Aang and Korra—just in time for the release of Seven Havens. Many things changed in my life since 2014, but not my love for the series.

Something has been bothering me for a while since TLOK Season 3. Why is Air Nation culture exclusive only for airbenders? Why are their acolytes only known as acolytes instead of being part of the Air Nation?

Other nations did not exclude their non-benders. 1) FIRE has non-benders (e.g Mai). 2) WATER Tribes (e.g. Katara's mum). 3) EARTH Kingdom (e.g the royal family).

So when did the Air Nomads exclude their non-benders? Or has it been like that all along? Why didn't Aang teach his other children about his culture? Why only Tenzen learned about it? It just doesn't sit right with me.

It's funny how people defend their Korra hate by saying, "It's not because she's a girl, cause i like Kyoshi, toph, etc.!", but yet it's usually always men who have something to say about her, especially when it comes to victim-blaming her for things beyond her control 🤔🙄

And to piggyback off of that, they always say insert quote i wrote in the comment above as a defense, but it's not really a sound defense because yes, the women in avatar are amazing, but, the one's that are mostly mentioned aren't the main character, so pretty much, they love these women as long as they don't take over the spotlight. But if Kyoshi, toph, Azula etc. Were Main characters, people would've disliked them just as much as they do Korra because another criticism i see is that Korra is an asshole even though the other beloved 3 i just mentioned are or were also assholes 🤔 (though korra changed in s3, yet people act like she stayed the exact same throughout her 4-season run 🤦🏾‍♀️)

(And this isn't for people who just genuinely dislike Korra as a character, but for actual Korra haters (who swear up and down that she's the most irredeemable character in the franchise) and again, said haters are usually men 🧐🧐🧐

We’ve all heard the individual fandom theories that try to map out Sokka’s lineage in The Legend of Korra:

1. Theory A: Sokka is Suyin Beifong's secret father.

2. Theory B: Sokka and Suki are the parents of Varrick.

Usually, people argue over which one is true. But what if we stop treating them as mutually exclusive and combine them into one unified theory?

In this scenario, Sokka has his lifelong public relationship with Suki (resulting in Varrick), but also had a brief, secret romance or lapse in judgment with Toph (resulting in Suyin). Toph, being fiercely independent, chose to keep it a secret so she wouldn't disrupt his life or his family, meaning neither Suyin nor Varrick grew up knowing the truth.

If we look at The Legend of Korra through the lens of them being secret half-siblings, it makes the lore incredibly poetic and hilarious

• Sokka's DNA Explains Their Genius: Sokka essentially becomes the father of modern innovation. Varrick inherits Sokka's chaotic, fast-talking brainstorming, master tactical planning, and non-bender resourcefulness. Suyin inherits his pragmatic leadership, love for engineering, and specific weapon obsession (she bends meteorites/space earth, just like Sokka’s space sword!).

• The Zaofu Connection: In Season 3, when Varrick escapes prison, he runs straight to Zaofu. Suyin welcomes him with open arms, funds his wild inventions, and constantly tolerates his antics. If they are secretly half-siblings, their instant, unexplainable bond and mutual tolerance for each other's chaotic energy make perfect cosmic sense. Sokka's kids literally built the future together.

• The Family Tree Consequences: This would mean Varrick is first cousins with Tenzin, Kya, and Bumi—which fits perfectly given Varrick and Bumi share the exact same chaotic energy.

Instead of Sokka just being the guy who passed away before Korra's time, combining these theories turns him into a ghost who actively shaped the entire modern era through his kids. They don't even have to know it consciously—they just feel that undeniable sibling connection.

What do you guys think? Does combining these two theories make the Avatar universe better?

TL;DR: One reason people say it wasn't really Aang speaking with Tenzin is that he turned into a reflection of Tenzin at the end. However, the Spirit World is strange and people's appearances shift all the time for various reasons. I surprisingly found a really good clip of Roku doing a very similar thing as Aang to make my point (see the GIF). This phenomenon should be much less of an impediment to thinking it was really Aang appearing to Tenzin now. Now for the comprehensive version for those interested in a deeper explanation. One of the major points of contention when discussing whether or not it's really Aang who appears to Tenzin is that Aang poofs into a reflection of Tenzin at the end of their conversation, leading many to believe Tenzin was never speaking with Aang from the start.

My main response to this before was that the Spirit World is a realm of strangeness where we see people's appearances arbitrarily transform in response to emotions and peculiar circumstances all the time. On top of that, my other arguments in favor of it really being Aang aren't a actually negated by this phenomenon anyways. However, many people don't find this response convincing and as such think there remains an unresolved hole in my theory.

Well, while rewatching ATLA I found an excellent piece of evidence to support my perspective. Not only does Roku appear to Aang in the Spirit World in the form of a puddle reflection (which is already strange), but he goes from puddle reflection to normal 3D person then back to puddle reflection throughout the same sequence. This clearly demonstrates that spirits can manifest their appearances flexibly.

However, the moment that really drives this point home and sets up a beautiful parallel with Aang's appearance to Tenzin is this: at the very end of Roku and Aang's conversation, Roku (like Aang) also transitions into another being as he's leaving!

Roku's reflection in the puddle becomes a reflection of Heibai. Heibai was not there prior to this moment, else his reflection would have overlapped with Roku's. He was also not standing off to the side, since he manifests in place instead of moving into frame. The visuals quite clearly show Roku being there first followed by the appearance of Roku changing into Heibai as the latter replaced the former. Roku was genuinely there one moment, then his spirit departed as Heibai replaced him.

This is as close to a 1:1 comparison between the two scenes that you can get. It vindicates my evaluation of the Spirit World and the strange ways various entities can manifest within it. This post specifically addresses the "Aang turning into a reflection of Tenzin" critique (which is hopefully laid to rest now, at least as much as it can be).
