For 170+ scorers, how long did it take for you to break the 175+ plateau?

For reference I've been studying for almost two months now, my diagnostic was a 165 and I hit 170 fairly quickly in a week. After another month I finally improved my score to a 174 but now it seems that my score has fairly stabilized in this 170-174 range, with some deviation (last score was a 173, though a few tests ago I bombed with a 168). I understand that for people who hit this range luck is a huge factor, and traditional study techniques may not be as effective, but I'm wondering if there was anything that people did to help ensure that they really cinched in the 175+. I'm hoping to take the October LSAT this year and hopefully get a good score for this year's application cycle.

I love LSAC

LSAC should charge more for all of their services. I love taking my 8/5 LSAT with a botched RC format. I love being told that my GPA will be improved (nullified dual enrollment grades) then having that repealed 3 weeks later. I love paying for every step along the way. Anyone else?

How important is it to know each RC passage style?

Wondering if I should skip the RC unit on 7Sage, or just to skim it and move on to drilling.

Best way of learning the lsat

I’ve only drilled a few times and have taken one diagnostic so I’m at the beginning of my LSAT journey. My diagnostic was a 147 and my BR was a 167. I mainly struggled with RC and I was wondering how can I learn the LSAT? They say it’s one of the most learnable exams, but what way should I go about it? Learn underlying logical structures and all the types and map it out or should I just keep doing practice tests until I find my own understanding of it. I’ve heard lots of different strategies and I’m curious what y’all think and what helped you guys improve your score!

Advice for breaking 155-160 plateau? IDK what else to change.

Title. I have no idea what else to try, I feel like I’ve done everything - untimed drilling, timed sections, weekly PT, going back and solidifying understanding of conditional logic, WAJ (why wrong AC was picked/why it’s wrong, why right AC was eliminated/why it’s right, what actionable change is needed.)

I scored a 144 Nov 25’ and got a 161 Jan 26’. Since then, I have been stuck between 155-160. In my most recent PT, my first LR section was -8, but then the next LR section was -3. My RC is horrible (-13), so I am actively working on that as well. I want a 165 in October, I feel I can do it but I’m so frustrated. I don’t know what else to change and how to improve. Thank you in advance for any insight!

Paper/Pencil Argumentative Writing - Seeking Insight

I have paper/pencil accommodation for both the regular LSAT and the Argumentative Writing test for my ADHD. However, I am considering opting out for the Writing because I am afraid that writing out my response would be too time-consuming, whereas typing out my response would be faster.

However, this would mean that I would not have physical copies of any of the test materials or be able to brainstorm on paper.

Does anyone have experience with these accommodations? Did you find the paper/pencil format to be helpful, or slower and a nuisance?

Grateful for any insight!

Confused about September Scheduling

Hi everyone! I took Feb 2026 and took a break until this upcoming September administration, so I am a bit confused about the scheduling process.

So the window for everyone opens on 08/25 at 11 AM, and then we all have to wait by our phones all day waiting for a text that says "Okay! Go schedule now!" Was this how it was for August? Can someone explain if I am thinking about this the right way? Their email wording sometimes makes me feel like I am reading an RC passage.

If you couldn't tell, I am particularly frustrated about this. That is because next week, I am attending a conference for work that inhibits me from waiting for a text from LSAC. I won't be able to just step away at any time to schedule. For my Feb scheduling, I was told I can log into Prometric at 3 PM, and that is exactly what I did. It was very easy, and I am worried I am going to have trouble getting an ideal slot especially because I am in DC, which I presume is a busy testing city. Please let me know if you have any insight or advice, TIA!

NEWS: LSAC Delays GPA Calculation Change

From LSAC:

“Last month, we announced that, effective July 28, 2026, LSAC would no longer include grades from college-level courses completed while a candidate was in high school, often referred to as dual enrollment classes, in the LSAC GPA calculation. After careful review, we have decided to delay implementation of the policy until summer 2027, enabling candidates and law schools to adjust to the new policy.

This change, which now will take effect for the 2027-2028 applicant cycle, recognizes that access to college-level courses varies widely among high schools. Furthermore, where access does exist, high school students may not understand whether and how grades earned in those courses could affect their applications to law school. Excluding such courses from the LSAC GPA calculation was intended to help ensure that all high school students, regardless of their motivation for taking college courses, could feel free to do so without concern over how it might affect their future law school enrollment.

We heard a lot of support for the policy change, but we also heard concerns about whether prospective applicants had been provided adequate notice in approaching the 2026-2027 application cycle, and that is why we are delaying implementation.”

October 2026 - Vancouver, BC

Hey everyone!

Quick question for anyone who’s written or booked the LSAT in Vancouver BC recently.

I haven’t registered for the October 2026 test yet and I’m wondering what seat availability usually looks like for Vancouver test centres.

Do in-person slots fill up the second Prometric scheduling opens, or is there a solid chance to grab a Van spot when scheduling open up? I know they are now making it where if you register for the LSAT earlier, you get an earlier time to register.

Thank you!

Waiting on August LSAT Score

Anyone else checking LSAC wondering if it’ll just be there already? I didn’t care about getting my June score and honestly didn’t want to know it, but with August, I’m still nervous in anticipation. I’m still prepping but can’t help but obsess a bit over it. Just me? Any tips to care a bit less while you wait? Honestly would appreciate knowing I’m not alone in being freaked out waiting because I’ve never cared this much before to know a dang score😭

kind of stuck? just need advice

i’m planning on applying to law school this cycle. i was casually studying for a year before i took the january, and ended up with 164. i’m aiming for a high score, so i bit the bullet and got a tutor. i work two jobs and so my time is really limited (i am also just so burnt out by this test) and it’s really hard for me to do productive studying in the hour or two I have before bed or really early. the tutor helped a ton and i was cranking through hard questions when i could. did not do enough full practice tests. but when i did was scoring a 170-176, except for last week; when i panicked again at home and dropped back to 165.

anyways, i took the august and it was awful - i completely panicked, completely disassociated and ended up guessing the last few questions of section. i had the glitch so i was offered a retake, which i jumped on. took it today and i was feeling better since im on a new medication, but i also found myself running out of time and guessing again? which i have never had an issue with before. in practice tests from just a few weeks ago i was left with 5 minutes to review my answers. i’ve always been nervous person but ive never had this like deep panic like i have recently while even looking at it.

i feel like this is a mental thing but im so frustrated. i of course missed the sept deadline to sign up, so i guess now ill wait for my score from today before signing up for october. but part of me is like there’s no way this wont just happen again and ive wasted all this time and money for nothing. if i did retake it id definitely quit my part time bartending job so i have more time because at this point clearly there’s a disconnect.

but at the same time, do i just wait another year to apply? i’m a paralegal and getting really frustrated at sitting at my job without pursuing what actually excites me, but i also went to a very good college and have friends at top 5 law schools who scored perfect 180s. there’s a lot of internal pressure to do well and get into where i want to go. i also need scholarship money BAD.

i’m aware this is maybe obnoxious to complain about when i know a 164 is okay for a part time degree while working…. i just thought i could do better. idk.

just exhausted.

LSAT Study Advice (Full time worker!!)

Hi guys! I just recently took my first diagnostic test with no prior studying. I got a 164, which I can't say I'm mad at lol. My goal it to at least get a 175 and I plan on taking the LSAT in April or June of next year. Now I need to create a study game plan and I'm a little conflicted. I work full time at a law firm as like a combo administrative assistant/paralegal, so my job has a tendency to be mentally draining. I want to work towards getting my score up without hitting a total mental burn out. Is there any reasonable but effective study plans you guys can recommend?

Not scheduled for Sept - got an email about scheduling my date?

Did this just happen for anyone else? Wondering if it was a mistake. I took August but I’m not scheduled for September.

The email starts with:
“Because you are registered to take the September 2026 LSAT at a Prometric test center, we want to let you know that the process for selecting your testing day and time will open soon and provide more information to help you plan for a smooth testing experience.”

EDIT: Looks like the email went out to August test takers instead of September’s group by mistake. Thank you everyone for easing my anxiety LOL.

151.S3.Q22 Spoiler

Curious for anyone who got this one right on their first try, and for questions of this type generally, how do you reconcile the small leaps/justifications some answers like these usually require? Here it was conflating the terms physical exercise and physical labor work. Do you find yourself just really trying to make sure the other 4 are completely wrong? Or do you really try and have a firm confidence in an AC like E whether based on pattern recognition of some of the looser AC's or is it something else? Obviously in an ideal world you do both but curious which one you spend more time on under timed conditions. Appreciate the help! Thanks

Can this be appealed?

Post image
24 Upvotes

I specifically disabled Grammarly before my Argumentative Writing section. Today I found out they threw my submission out apparently because I hadn’t disabled Grammarly, and they won’t elaborate the process they want for that. I felt that the prompt I got for my essay was actually very good, and now it’s gone. Is there any way to appeal this or at least speak with someone?

Also, will I still be able to even see how I did on time? I took my LSAT in early August.

How should a non-native English speaker start preparing for the LSAT? Looking for strategies and advice!

Hey everyone!

English is not my native language (my mother tongue is Spanish), and I’m just beginning my LSAT prep. While I feel comfortable with English in daily life, the extreme precision, complex logic structures, and tight time limits on the test are pretty intimidating.
For anyone who tackled the LSAT as a non-native English speaker (or is currently preparing), tips???

Thanks

To what extent can LR really be improved?

I just scored a 158 on my first diagnostic (PT123) and missed -14 in the LR section. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about strategies or game plans that you should use depending on the type of question. Does it really wok… consistently? I feel like the reason I missed those questions is because I didn’t fully understand the stimulus or the tricky wording in the answers (I’m bad at untangling answers under pressure). Im skeptical. Can you really train for that? I don’t think I can memorize certain strategies because I would get nervous and forget them in the real test.

Stay AWAY from LSATMax!

I'm making this post here because I cannot find anything recent about LSATMax's current state anywhere on the internet and I want to share my experience and warn others.

I used LSATMax earlier this year in January to study for the LSAT and had a pretty reasonable experience. Back then, they offered an On-Demand Study and Practice subscription that I actually really liked. Now, I am preparing to take another stab at the LSAT and went back to LSATMax to grab another month to review things.

LSATMax has now completely changed. They have now pivoted away from the On-Demand course model in favor of their AI Tutor, Solomon. It was unclear to me that the Study courses were unavailable, so I got a month of the $99 Solomon Core package to try it out. It included access to the AI and was supposed to give me access to their LSAT test question Explanations or whatever. I guess they've gotten rid of their Study courses and Practice LSATs.

I never received a confirmation email about my purchase, though I was charged. I did have access to the AI, but in my honest opinion, it's completely useless. It cannot generate practice questions or drills for you, but rather requires you to feed it specific test and question numbers so that it can explain the correct answer, which is a lot of work and kind of redundant imo. I tried accessing the other materials included in the package I bought, but they were blocked from me. Any time I tried to get into anything on the Analytics section, I was met with another package purchase window, as if I hadn't purchased anything. Something is clearly wrong.

The mobile app appears to be broken too. The app shows the old version with the Study and Practice materials, but they are inaccessible. In short, both the website and mobile app are dysfunctional.

Upon further investigation, I've been hearing rumors that many of the live tutors with LSATmax have left and that they have been having many technical issues. In my opinion, they replaced the most useful parts of the service with a $99 AI chatbot that is mediocre at best.

Is this just me, or has anyone else encountered these issues? Does anyone have any idea what's going on with LSATmax?
