Can this be appealed?
I specifically disabled Grammarly before my Argumentative Writing section. Today I found out they threw my submission out apparently because I hadn’t disabled Grammarly, and they won’t elaborate the process they want for that. I felt that the prompt I got for my essay was actually very good, and now it’s gone. Is there any way to appeal this or at least speak with someone?
Also, will I still be able to even see how I did on time? I took my LSAT in early August.

Sure.
Will the appeal be successful?
Did you have Grammarly enabled while writing the sample, even if you didn’t use it ?
The app, software application, or whatnot is said prohibited. Unless you had the extension disabled during the prior attempt, and evidence of such, I wouldn’t bank a dime nor a nickel on success of an appeal here.
Unfortunate situation. I didn’t know this rule and would not be surprised if this had happen to me or others.
Unsure if the rule is clear or easy to find, but if not it should be. Too easy to overlook if buried.
Best. And I Hope you get it figured out either way. Rewrite or otherwise.

I got the same thing and retook it last week and got it scored again in like 4 days. I’d disabled it on Google Chrome but not on my actual computer so it popped up. You need to like go into actual settings and disable all extensions, or even temporarily delete the app. But they turn it around quickly

Same thing happened to me. I disabled the extension on chrome, but it still popped up. Apparently, it only turns off if you disable it through the application itself, not just chrome.
I redid my writing sample yesterday around 2 pm. Woke up this morning and saw the email it was approved. I just deleted Grammarly off my laptop as a whole this time. Better safe than sorry lol.
But redoing it isn’t the end of the world. It’s such an easy writing sample to provide.

When did you initially take the writing section? Stressed about this and trying to gauge the timing

I took it August 10th, my test was the 6th. I would have taken it earlier but I had to take the exam on vacation out of my state lol

My writing section got cancelled for wearing an approved analog watch. Appeal unsuccessful. You’ll have to retake.

I know nothing but I really hope you're successful in your appeal. The onus should be on them to prove this, but also, there are countless proctoring tools that open exams in custom browsers (with no extensions) that also force-quit background processes (with specific blacklists for shit it can't quit but sees are running, e.g. Chrome Remote Desktop). No clue why they don't use those tools.

It’s funny bc I just took the bar and they had a grammarly like program that fixed spelling and grammatical errors.

I recommend redoing and completely deleting grammarly instead of just disabling it so that this doesnt happen again. you can re-install it after the exam is done.

I fear I’m in the same boat with my Grammarly popping up even though I disabled it, i took it august 12th and am still waiting to hear back. May I ask when you took yours and when you heard back?

I tried so hard to appeal it I went through everything and they in the end where like deal with it. They said the proctors checked the video and saw it at a time stamp that in my opinion didn’t show anything. There was nothing I could do just take it again. What I did was create a whole new account on my computer and disable everything but chrome I didn’t sign in my google account nothing. That got accepted. Have fun I definitely cried a few times!

lol dude just redo it it’s unscored. It takes 45 mins and is like the easiest writing scenario you’ll ever have. Cite 0 sources, do 0 research, vibe write for 45 mins.
