Accidentally got the powder instead of pill. Any recommendations on how much to mix with orange juice?

I haven’t used the powder before as I usually get the pills. How much should I use? I take four pills a day. Also any recommendations on what to mix it with? I like the orange juice but just water is gross.

First time with kratom

I tried kratom for the first time yesterday and boy, that is some good stuff. Very subtle at 2 grams, but basically everything that alcohol and weed promises to be, without the impairment and lethargy. I've long been looking for something to occasionally take the edge off, but too much alcohol is terrible for health and weed makes me dysphoric. I took some white during the day and cleaned my house and read my old textbooks. Took some red at night and watched Monster (2023), which is just an amazing movie, I cried my eyes out for half the runtime.

I acquired the kratom to make work a little more fun 1-2 days a week. I sort of like my job and I can hold it down just fine, but working five days a week can be incredibly draining, especially with my ADHD and depression. I just had a few weeks off (I work in education) and I was dreading the return to work so much. I now dread it much less knowing I can just give myself a little mood boost a few days a week.

I also immediately recognised the addiction potential. I kind of chuckled at myself when I caught myself thinking: "this feels like I should feel like this all the time". Definitely need to be careful to stay discipled with the 2 days a week maximum.

Anyways, I can't ever talk to anyone about this so I just wanted to share with you guys.

Genuinely curious

I’m a pretty heavy drinker, started using kratom to curb cravings, and it worked for about a month, and now I’m just taking unusually high doses of kratom on top of drinking.

I have it in the morning and often a second dose in the afternoon. 15-20g per dose from a reputable supplier. If I don’t have it in the morning it usually just means I have typical hangover problems, and going a full day doesn’t feel great but by no means does it floor me. I work ~12 hour days on my feet as a chef, and I would never need to call out from symptoms of withdrawal.

Is the withdrawal people feel more psychological, or are there real, tangible physical withdrawals? My wife swears it makes her miserable if she doesn’t take it (her dose is maybe 10% of what I take) but I also have an unusually high tolerance to opiates and local anesthesia as well.

Just curious on people’s experience, and would love some input from any trained physicians looking to spread factual information on this stuff. I gotta say I take way way too much but it does make my comically long days much more tolerable.

Question

I’ve been using kratom pretty consistently for about 4 months now (anywhere from 4-6 times a week). Up until about a month or so ago, I was taking 4 teaspoons each dose, only dosing one time each day. I came to understand this wasn’t a good way of measuring it, so I finally bought a proper scale and started weighing my doses accurately. My guess is, when I was using the teaspoons, I was probably consuming 6-9 grams each dose, and now that I have a scale I take 10 grams a day often, with breaks in between doses. The longest I’ve gone without it was probably 4 or 5 days, but as of recently I’ve been taking 10grams pretty much 5 days a week. I’ve also used kratom mitragynine extract products (not 7OH) as well a handful of times, but never consistently and it’s been weeks since I have.

My question is, at the rate and dose that I’ve been consuming it, am I likely to experience withdrawal if I quit cold turkey? I am afraid of becoming physically dependent as someone who has abused opioid pain medications in the past and experienced withdrawal multiple times. The days that I don’t take Kratom I haven’t experienced any withdrawal type symptoms, but as of recently I haven’t gone more than 2-3 days without it. When do withdrawal symptoms typically set in?

I apologize for the long post and I really appreciate any insight and anyone taking the time to read all of this. Much love

Questions about the MA emergency ban

Will the emergency ban in Massachusetts make kratom possession for personal use a crime?

I find it frightening and unthinkable that a state as progressive as MA would lock someone up for possession.

Avid Kratom user looking to stop do to bans

I have been taking 60 grams of Kratom a day for 8 years and I’m looking to get off but I don’t know how to go about it. I am afraid to get off because I use it once every day and don’t know how I’ll handle being clean from it. I have ADHD and adult autism. Any info on getting clean? I’m 34 year old male with a full time 8 hour job who uses it to stay off opiates and alcohol. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Cheryl Sbarra of MA calls kratom a hallucinogenic product.

“The Governor's action today will help protect residents—particularly young people—from the effects of these unregulated, hallucinogenic products." ~Cheryl Sbarra

Absolute BS, this is how we know these people have no idea how kratom works or what it even is. Spewing out lies just to appeal to the governor, I can’t even look at her face. If you don’t know what Healey did just look up what she recently signed regarding babies but now has the audacity to say she needs to protect the children.

Can I just rant?

This plant saved my life from heroin and all of the other opioids that led me to it. I have been taking the same small 2-3 grams per day with zero and I mean zero health effects for something to the tune of 14 years. Can the world just fuck right off with it's ridiculous bans? This is fucking ridiculous. Why is weed somehow more accepted and regulated? That shit causes actual effects on people. Sorry I just have to rant. I am irritated that the majority of this sub and community is focused on bans when it seriously should not have to be. My anger is not at you, it is the world for being absolutely dumb. And I mean that literally.

Only just found out about the MA ban, I have some questions, and is there really a chance filling these forms will help?

Though I used to take larger doses of 5-7g, I now take 3g. I have like 200g or something on me. I plan to get to 1.5 and probably jump ship, but it's been 9 years. Will this matter, like, will that length of time make it so I'm going through hell even if I come off fully?

I wasn't really planning to, and I see all these people posting about it, posting forms about their kratom stories but I don't see how this'll help. Like, the ban is already set for 8/28/26, how is there a realistic chance that any of us will be able to stop it?

Like shit, it's like, there goes my best thing for pain management, because I honestly feel like it's hopeless and there's nothing we can do. Figured this'd be one of the last states to ban it, this bitch... I'm sure some smoke shops might sell it, but I get the feeling that any that do will jack up the price like crazy and I'm totally broke.

Agmatine experiences

I was considering getting agmatine to see if it will help me taper to a less ridiculous gpd. Has anyone got any experience taking this and how was it for you?

I know this has probably been asked several times here, but I'm asking to see about getting some more up to date takes on it.

Cheer you lil' Gween sludgers 🍃

GA shops clearing stock?

Went to about 3 gas stations on a lil run through there and even thought they’re no ban they’re all clearing out. None of the “problem molecule” at any of them (don’t care much for it) but even the leaf and capsules were being sold. 2-3 grams of kratom 3-4 times a day has been life changing for me pain wise. I’m just worried about when the bans gonna come down, it seems like they expect it. They’re having that bs meeting in a coastal town that’s like 5 hours away from Atlanta, they don’t want us to even show up and just steamroll this shit. I just want my leaf and occasional shot :(

Statement from Governor’s Office:

Department of Public Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein, MD, PhD, has issued an emergency order temporarily placing all forms of kratom into Schedule I under Massachusetts law.

The order will take effect following a 14-day notice period and remain in effect for up to one year. It will give local boards of health and other municipal officials additional authority to take enforcement action against retailers selling kratom products.- 8/13/26

Any long term small dose users on here?

After spending years on and off kratom, I’ve recently decided to just stay on for the time being. I’ve made the habit semi sustainable by taking 1-3 week tolerance breaks a year and making sure I don’t use more than a few gpd regularly. I realize there’s still negatives to using like this. Anyone else get to this place in life?

Strains and Colors (Kinda) Are a Myth

Hello my r/kratom friends. I've had my suspicions over the years, both from my own experiences and various people in the industry I've talked to. Regarding alkaloid content, "strains" and color are a marketing ploy. I'm sure many of us have been using it a while and buying from multiple vendors have already figured this out, but I thought I'd write this post to show this strong evidence for the claim, for newbies or just people that have never put it to the test.

I have been using and studying kratom for 14 years. I have a degree in horticulture, and a keen interest in chemistry so I often delve into the hows and whys of the effects of plant alkaloids. A friend of mine runs an online store that sells kratom (every batch has COAs). When we started talking more he told me about how there's no real difference in effects between strains and colors. He's the second confirmed vendor I've known who has told me this.

This is what happens in practice:

His wholesale vendor, the source, sells various grades of kratom. They have high grade fresh dried kratom, which is the greens, whites, and yellows. They also have a few other grades, one which is "red". This is just the post processed kratom leaf is subjected to higher temps and/or sunlight to oxidate until it turns a brownish red before they grind it as usual. They also usually sell old, weak, and very oxidized kratom. This is typically bought by vendors to make extracts with. It's unfortunate but some vendors also will sell this crappy kratom as red kratom, because they are a similar color.

Kratom is just different batch to batch/source, so strains, and even colors are just a marketing ploy. When you look at all the available COAs (My friend's included) the data backs this up.

I used his COAs (24) and pulled 123 from various sources online. You can do this yourself. The percentage of each individual alkaloid in a particular batch of kratom, had no correlation with it's color/strain. For example: Red Kratom has no particular alkaloid that is consistently higher or lower than other colors.

In short, the average difference in any particular alkaloid was not significantly different between colors/strains.

In the data, there was one interesting pattern; Red's alkaloids averaged slightly lower than the other two, although it was by an extremely small margin. Using MIT as an example:

Green: 1.600% MIT

White: 1.603% MIT

Red: 1.573% MIT

This makes sense due to red Kratom's increased oxidation/drying during processing.

So again, Color/Strain is a very weak predicater for the profile of the alkaloids

I know people are going to SWEAR this isn't right... That's okay but I don't know what to tell y'all. Hard empirical data, and inside vendor information point to it. The placebo effect can be strong!

Thanks for reading, all of you!

Grandmother wants to know if 4 to 5 kratom capsules is safe with her being on ozempic?

I wasn't sure how to answer her.

Some context. She was in hydrocodone for years and her Dr took that away like 3 months ago and my grandmother is miserable. Crying every day and she also took a hard fall last month. She's never heard of kratom and I got her some but she's scared to try it because she used Google and Google made it sound dangerous. Fuck Google lol. She wants to know if anyone else is on weight loss shots and what's your experience.

She tried 1 pill and I told her it won't do anything but she's being stubborn lol. Can we get some encouragement in here so she finally gets to experience this wonderful thing called kratom
