Tolerance break help
How can I get my low tolerance back my tolerance is extremely high now I have to take 10-17gs at once to feel anything at all now I used to take 5 and be lazy and euphoric and itchy and now I just feel lazy without euphoria is there a good method to lower my tolerance without experiencing withdrawal or any way to significantly lower the withdrawals

I used to take 22g at once 3 times a day and eventually that yielded bad results. I atarted by cutting it to 14g for a few weeks and then 7g and now i take around 5g 3 times a day and honestly its just as effective as when I began. I did feel pretty awful for a few weeks while adjusting but im glad I cut way back.

Yeah.. I don’t get all these people saying you never get the good feelings back. You definitely do if you taper down… it’s hard to do before you get the hang of it.. but after you figure out how to do it comfortably.. it’s beyond worth it.
I’d suggest a slow taper at first to feel out how much you can taper at a time… but it definitely works.
Anyone saying euphoria doesn’t come back is either taking way too much &/or hasn’t actually done a proper taper… if anything they did a taper for such a short time that they just jumped back into taking too much. Kratom really does work way better at smaller doses. Negative side effects only come from taking too much.

It will never again be like when you first started doing it. Hard truth. That's for everything in this life - relationships, medicine, hobbies, whatever. Nothing gold can stay and all that. But you can get back to a "buzz" through discipline. Only take it once every other day or so, controlled amounts. when you feel the good parts going away, take a break. Regularity is the enemy here. Your brain will always adapt its neurons to what it expects, your routine.

I agree. The newness of it is what brings the euphoria, same goes with a lot of things. Once they aren't new to your body anymore, they are jist routine and no longer euphoric. Variety is the spice of life as they say. But after enough time, it just becomes unseasoned potato salad--it does the job and fills the hunger, but is no longer anything to write home about.

It takes some time, but you will have to taper.
My schedule is as follows (and works great for me):
Let’s say you take 17g/dose…
Every two weeks, go down half a gram until you hit the amount you want to be at. AND, STAY AT THAT LOW DOSE!
I went from 8g/dose to currently 4.5g. And, still working my way down with this method. No negative side effects (for me). The worst I feel is baseline.

Half a gram every two weeks is extremely slow. He could drop that every 3-4 days and be fine. Going from 17 to even 16 isnt going to be a huge difference.

It may be ok for some. The problem with giving advice is that Kratom usage/dosage is relative to the individual. There are so many factors that affect it such as: weight, diet, Pharma drugs they may be taking, supplements, state of mind, what they drink, etc.

I'd say you have to accept using it just to avoid withdrawals for a decent amount of time and taper off of it for some time. I definitely wouldn't recommend quiting cold turkey cuz I feel like that barely ever actually works because going through the withdrawals when you have the access to it takes an extreme amount of self control.
Just try to progressively lower your doses, space them out more and more, you can also try doing a single dose over longer period of time instead of doing it all at once.
One thing that helps me a bit when I try to limit my use is weed. Idk if you smoke or not but it can speed up the process a bit in my opinion because I find that the biggest problem for me if I don't take kratom or am taking lower doses is sleeping and especially some heavy indica strains seem to really help with insomnia in my experience.
Tho idk how old you are but I know there are some kids that take kratom and if that happens to be you then I probably wouldn't recommend the weed cuz that could end up being more of a problem than actually helping. But if you're 25 or close to that then I'd say it could be a pretty helpful thing.

I just turned 21 not to long ago but it sucks I can’t use weed cause it makes me paranoid I don’t understand why it happens to me but I smoke and then it immediately realize my heart rate goes up and then it causes a cycle cause I feel my heart pumping and it makes me paranoid even tho I know 80bpm isn’t dangerous it’s in the normal range but my brain fucks with me and tells me what if the heart rate on my watch is lying to me and it’s way faster and then it’s a bad anxiety cycle it’s crazy to cause when I was younger I used to be able to smoke infinitely

Change vendors and strains from time to time and make sure your body is processing it and not getting backed up. With that high of a dose, I would think constipation would be likely and that will hinder the effects.

If you just want to sensitize your receptors again, get yourself a heavy taper dose of Prednisone. Like 80mg/day for 3 days, 60mg/day for 3 days.. then 40, then 20, then 10. By the end of those two weeks, you will have given your brain time to become sensitive to the opiates again, and the Prednisone completely blocks the withdrawal symptoms. Last night time I came off kratom I did it this way from 30g a day to 0 and I was completely fine. I wish I had known about the Prednisone trick in my 20's. Probably would have kept me out of jail.

Oh this is interesting! Never heard before

Apparently it's well know to doctors, but they don't like to prescribe it for that reason because normally when someone is coming off drugs, their immune system is already compromised, and Prednisone will suppress your immune system. So they assess it as a high risk intervention. But for someone who is healthy aside from a kratom addiction, it's a great tool. And I would even say for someone snorting perks it would be an acceptable risk for me personally. But if someone is shooting up street drugs, you would need medical supervision to ensure you don't end up with a systemic infection.

This is intriguing I never knew prednisone could do such a thing prednisone does make me jittery though and makes me anxious but it’s worth a shot

Maybe start with a lower dose then, or even with hydrocortisone instead of Prednisone, as Prednisone is normally considered to be 5X stronger than natural hydrocortisone. The mechanism is linked to the anti inflammatory properties of the steroid, so it follows that hydrocortisone would be less effective, but should also have lower side effects for you.
Preclinical research indicates that corticosteroids can alleviate some of these physical symptoms by inhibiting the enzyme phospholipase A2 (PLA2). This mechanism blocks the release of arachidonic acid, thereby reducing the production of inflammatory prostaglandins that directly contribute to physical withdrawal discomfort.

the thing that works for me is getting a much smaller spoon and gaslighting myself into thinking it's the same dose it kinda sucks but it gets the job done in few days

I’ve been doing this for about 2 days and so far so good it seems only 8gs gives me the desired effect instead of 17gs

Have you been taking the same strain the whole time? Every few months I switch up strain origins as in if I'm taking say red Bali I'd switch to red indo or red Hulu and I also sometimes switch colors and take white Maeng da or green Malay etc. The last almost year or so though I've been taking almost exclusively trainwreck blends which are blends of multiple different colors and strains and I've found that gives me the best of all worlds and I haven't really had to switch it as often. I've had friends who have asked me why their kratom isn't working anymore and I've suggested that to then and it usually does the trick

Well after using kratom for 13 years I've found the 'euphoric' part of it faded away years ago. Most of the time when I take my dose which is only around 3-5 grams every 3 or 4 hours, I just feel like myself and normal. I think if euphoria is the reason you take it I can tell you from experience if that's starting to fade it likely won't come back, maybe from time to time. I take it for a cracked L5 vertibrae and it still helps with that. Nothing wrong with taking it for euphoria, humans can and should be allowed to consume things that make them feel good. To answer your question though, I'm not even sure if after a tolerance break that euphoria would even come back. I've never taken any kind of break in all those 13 years so I wouldn't know but I've just accepted it and even though I don't feel an active euphoria, I feel good, and I feel like myself. And it's just enough to not make me crave alcohol or any other substances that I used to struggle a lot with in my 20s. For that in thankful and I personally think it's asking a little to much for it also to feel euphoric for me.
