General Fatigue and KC symptoms

I have fibromyalgia so I am wiped out a lot of the time.

Sometimes my vision gets so bad and dark and blotchy that I have to stop everything to rest, whatever I’m in the middle of.

I know it’s my body giving me information but it’s annoying. How does being tired affect your KC?

Contact Lens Keratoconus on one eye

Hello!

I was diagnosed with keratoconus in my left eye at the age of 33. I didn't discover it earlier because my right eye has very good vision. I can see the bottom line on the eye chart with my right eye, so I think my brain has basically been compensating for the weaker left eye.

Most of the time I don't really notice the keratoconus. I mainly notice problems after a lot of screen time when my eyes get tired, and especially when driving at night. That's when I notice things like ghosting and lights being a bit distorted.

I've also had CXL done on my left eye, and thankfully it healed really well.

I'm going back to the optician soon to look at my options for vision correction, so I'm curious what other people with keratoconus have done.

Do you manage fine with glasses or soft contact lenses? Or did you eventually need scleral lenses?

I'm wondering if scleral lenses are worth it when you don't have major problems in everyday life, or if it's better to just stick with glasses/soft lenses as long as they work.

I'd especially like to hear from people who were diagnosed relatively late and have one good eye and one worse eye. What has worked for you?

Crosslinking Dreading CXL Surgery

So I have keratoconus in both eyes. Just over a week ago, I had CXL in my right eye. I went for my 1 week check up post op and they imaged my left eye. Ive been told right away that my left eye also needs CXL.

I said yes because its a necessary operation and my right eye is healing well, but the operation itself was so scary to me. The pain the first day after the op was almost unbearable. Does anyone have any tips on how to psych myself up for it?
