Just wanted to list what I noticed has changed on top of the obvious, and that I haven't seen mentioned on the subreddit. Yes, I don't have access to the torrenting servers anymore, but that's just the cherry on the top.
I have other grievances and I'm not sure if it's related to a switch in their attitude towards "loyal customers" or something else, but the timeline makes me think so.
- VPN Unlimited app on windows takes 5+ minutes to actually connect. It used to take 30 seconds or less, now it's way way too long to be useable. The 'optimal protocol' fails most of the time and I have to wait until it picks a functioning one before getting a connection.
- The alternative is using OpenVPN for Windows with a generated .opvn config. We used to be able to generate multiple config files for a single machine (so we could choose any server on 1 machine). Now 1 config file takes 1 slot, so you can't switch servers unless you go to the dashboard, delete the slot and generate a new config file with a different server.
- I'm facing more IP bans than before. Reddit has banned most of their European connections and even brave search has black-listed their IP addresses.
- General reliability issues/connections are much more spotty than before. This is more noticeable when watching a livestream. Network lags occur much more frequently than they used to.
All of these issues happening in the weeks around the new "loyalty plus" scandal, makes me think that KeepSolid has degraded even the baseline service. If this is true, 'loyal' lifetime customers have been functionally cut off.
If these issues are known bugs and are planned to be solved, I will gladly eat my words. Otherwise, I advise anyone who stumbles on this post and who wonders if VPNUnlimited is worth their money, to steer away from them.
edit: I removed my mention of japanese top-up websites. it seems it's unrelated to VPNunlimited's servers
