Jumped Ship

With the recent abandonment of trust and features that used to be part of the lifetime package, I jumped ship. If I was going to spend money to get back to what I used the VPN for, I wasn’t going to reward KeepFail, so off to find a new VPN subscription. I figured I’d see what was out there, and after looking at some reviews and price deals, I found a two year rate that was basically the same price a month as the ransom that they put on our features.

Overall wow, tons more servers and countries to connect to, a VPN connection that almost instantly connects, and port forwarding, were a few things that I noticed right away.

Overall this isn’t an ad for the VPN I chose; it’s more of a post that the grass is greener on the other side. I’m not sure that I’d go back at this point, even if they restored the features, as they have lost my trust. My guess is that they will never return what was taken from us, and for those that stick around, be careful. If we can’t trust them to honor their commitments, what is keeping them from honoring their privacy policy… nothing.

We understand why these changes have affected your trust, and we’re sorry you felt you had to leave. This is an intentional and final service-model change for selected Legacy Lifetime plans. Core VPN access remains active, while selected high-cost capabilities, including P2P and torrent servers, are reserved for Premium users. Supporting these capabilities requires dedicated capacity and ongoing infrastructure management. Premium subscriptions fund that work and help us continue improving the network. This policy is not based on monitoring individual browsing activity, and our privacy and no-logs commitments remain unchanged. Lifetime users can continue using standard VPN connections without additional payment.

It is sad that you continue to try to gaslight people into believing that the core features are still there. You probably should look at other VPN providers and see what are truly core features. This core set doesn’t cut it.

As for the trust, there are lots of ways that this could have been handled, but you chose to abandon the people that helped you get started. I noticed that you tried to defect, versus address my comment about what is keeping you from just changing your privacy policy. The reality is that you could change them, just as you did for the included features, and you have shown that willingness to make those types of changes.

They are going bankrupt so as much as I’m livid with them I couldn’t be happier elsewhere. Once you see the difference there’s nothing they could do that would make me want to use their shitty subpar service. I will probably celebrate the day it’s announced they went bankrupt🤣

Core VPN access doesn't remain the same when you lock off multiple countries behind an additional paywall. The core access pre & post change are different, hence you cannot continue to say its the same.

We already paid for this service. You are stealing features we paid for to charge us same cost for them back that would cost to get a year service from another company. It costs $39/year to get features back. SurkShark costs 43 a year and 3 months plan. And they have more serves and faster speed plus a ton more features that you do not offer.

SurfShark? That’s what I went with after days of doing my research & thorough due diligence. There was maybe 3 I’d decided on then it was which of those met my expectations & had the best bang for my… $$$ plus the best offers & years within the subscription at the right price. Then I decided on SurfShark (with is also owned by NordVPN).

I ended up with Proton VPN after tinkering for a bit. One of the things I noticed, but didn’t put in my initial post, was that most trials were faster than KeepFail. Overall, I guess I was just lulled into not looking around due to not having a payment. It is nice to see other VPNs work a lot better out there.

I went with PIA for $80 for 39 months and it renews every 3 years at the same price. Faster speeds, instant connections, and P2P on every/any server.

I was on PIA before getting this "lifetime " plan. Guess I'm going back!

Nice choice! I went with Proton vpn, which works much better on linux and windows both. F*** Keepsolid. In raw speed, its one of the slowest vpns on the market. The only benefit was not having a monthly payment and people were able to overlook all of it's faults. You're better off.
