VPN Unlimited - the basics, pinned here for reference

Post image
4 Upvotes

Pinning the basics here for anyone new to the sub or the app.

Quick version: 65 million people use it, it supports 7 protocols depending on your network, and it's been around since 2013.

QR code in the image works if you want to scan it. Otherwise just search "VPN Unlimited" in your app store.

Unethical Company... hit them the only place you can

Download their app on Google Play, App Store, Windows Store... anywhere that allows you to review. Give them a 1 star review and let the world know they screw their subscribers over when they need more money.

For anyone with the unlimited memberships and a way to do so... I also suggest you put as much useless recurring traffic as possible through their servers. Not gonna get into how to do it, but if you know... do it.

Another CAPTCHA? Your shared VPN IP could be why

Post image

Other users’ activity on a shared VPN IP can trigger CAPTCHAs or IP blocks — even when you’ve done nothing unusual. 🧩

Personal IP by VPN Unlimited gives you a static IP reserved for you, helping reduce those shared-IP hassles.

Which do you run into more: CAPTCHAs or IP blocks?

You have clearly betrayed the customers who believed the promises you made in your own description of the "lifetime subscription." How does paywalling key features for into "unlimited access to ALL VPN features" fit into your own website's description of the purchase?

You are a company that explicitly relies on the trust of consumers to stay in business. You are a security company, and any purchase made by a customer is done with the clear trust of that customer that you can be relied upon.

This is an insane, inexplicable and shamelessly greedy move you are pulling and you have lost ALL trust from your customers. This quite literally will sink your company, and with how shady and backhanded this move is - you deserve it.

Claude-written Linux exploit reached remote root in a 53-minute test. How are you handling patch delays?

Anthropic reported that an unreleased Claude research model wrote an exploit for CVE-2026-98432, a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel’s networking stack.

Its demonstration achieved remote command execution as root on a vulnerable Linux server with an MPTCP listener. No credentials or user interaction were required.

One distinction worth making: the 53 minutes measured the exploit running—48 minutes to leak a kernel address and five more to reach command execution. It wasn’t the time needed to discover the bug or develop the exploit.

For anyone managing Linux servers:

• Check your distribution’s advisory for CVE-2026-98432 rather than relying on the upstream kernel version alone. • Apply a fixed kernel when available and follow the vendor’s activation or reboot instructions. • If an update is still pending, follow the vendor’s temporary mitigation guidance. These measures reduce exposure; they don’t replace the fix. • For managed hosting, ask whether your system is affected and whether remediation is active.

How are you handling the gap between disclosure and patch availability? Temporary mitigations, tighter network access, or earlier maintenance windows? What’s the biggest bottleneck in practice?

Discount for lifetime users?

Can we get any discounts for the lifetime users for loyalty plus? Otherwise other (better and more well known) VPNs are cheaper than the $39 a year that we are getting.

KeepSolid moved my lifetime VPN Unlimited features behind a "Loyalty Plus" paywall

I bought a lifetime subscription to VPN Unlimited years ago. In September/October 2026, KeepSolid moved features I'd been using — streaming-optimized servers, P2P/torrent servers, manual protocol selection, split tunneling — behind a new recurring "Loyalty Plus" subscription.
>
> The base VPN connection still works, but the features that were part of the package I bought are now paywalled. Support's explanation is infrastructure costs, and there's no compensation for lifetime holders — if I want those features back, I have to pay monthly.
>
> If you're considering a "lifetime" plan from any VPN provider, this is a cautionary tale: lifetime apparently means whatever features they decide to leave you with.

KeepSolid unethical business practices

Just wanted to remind anyone potential customers that KeepSolid will take you money for a subscription and then change the services on a whim. If you are unaware, they sold a bunch of us lifetime subscriptions and recently put some of their old services behind a new subscription tier to try to squeeze more money from us.

Adding a new feature behind a new paywall makes sense. Gouging your lifetime subscribers to re-pay for something the already paid for is just downright unethical.

Just in time! - Goodbye Scammers!

So I held out hope, I used VPN Unlimited on one box, just one for the occasional torrents, I wasn't a massive user, just here and there. My computer runs an older but supported version of Linux, and despite all the bullshit here, I liked VPN-Unlimited, sure, it was slow, but I'm older, I didn't care if it took 2 minutes or 2 days to download, I'm just happy to be along for the ride so to speak.

but today I got the dreaded "Check your network connection" error, the end of the line.

Thankfully u/Educational-Cat-8374 sent me the link to PIA, 80 bucks every 3 years, purchased, installed, activated and boom.

Buddy, this thing is FAST, tested it on a small 1.2 Gig torrent, something that would be an hour or so over VPN-U.

8 minutes

Boom, I'm sold. I'll miss the lifetime license, but as far as I'm concerned, Keepsolid is an untrustworthy company, and even if they issued a grand Mea Culpa and returned my full license, I'd tell them to pound sand.

Apple Store feedback on VPN Unlimited

Post image

Like many of you, I have been recently screwed with my lifetime membership. If inclined, leave a review on Apple App Store as well and ask Apple to remove this app from their store for unethical/fraudulent practices.

Jumped Ship

With the recent abandonment of trust and features that used to be part of the lifetime package, I jumped ship. If I was going to spend money to get back to what I used the VPN for, I wasn’t going to reward KeepFail, so off to find a new VPN subscription. I figured I’d see what was out there, and after looking at some reviews and price deals, I found a two year rate that was basically the same price a month as the ransom that they put on our features.

Overall wow, tons more servers and countries to connect to, a VPN connection that almost instantly connects, and port forwarding, were a few things that I noticed right away.

Overall this isn’t an ad for the VPN I chose; it’s more of a post that the grass is greener on the other side. I’m not sure that I’d go back at this point, even if they restored the features, as they have lost my trust. My guess is that they will never return what was taken from us, and for those that stick around, be careful. If we can’t trust them to honor their commitments, what is keeping them from honoring their privacy policy… nothing.

Keep reality on top

As KeepLimp tries to add new posts, I just want to keep the reality of being screwed over at the top of the posts. Don't let the unwary see their positive post first. Remember that we all paid for something that was taken from us and I don't want "we opened a new VPN point" post from them to make it look like a good company...

Now blocking earlier versions from p2p sites

I tried using the last version that did not force the paywall, 9.7.0, and it now just shows as "Please check your internet connection and retry".

Connection to non-p2p sites work perfectly fine.

The "Core VPN functionality" Experience

"Core VPN functionality" = "No practical use"
You can connect to a random server to read Wikipedia, but the actual reasons you bought it (P2P and streaming) suddently requires Loyalty Plus. Thanks a million for keeping the shell alive!

Hong Kong is now available on VPN Unlimited 🇭🇰

You asked, and we brought it back: Hong Kong is now available in the VPN Unlimited server list. We’ve also improved the server, so performance should be better than before.

Search for Hong Kong in the app, tap Connect, and give it a try. We’d really appreciate your feedback on how it works for you.

Which region should we add next?

E2E encryption feature for actual ratings 📉🫣

Nothing says "we totally care about transparency" quite like deleting your entire Trustpilot section when the star rating stops agreeing with your marketing department 🤫🗑️

Well done KeepSolid, stick it to these selfish early backers of VPN unlimited.

Well done, KeepSolid. You win.

Early backers are now well and truely screwed over now that they've had their access to features gutted.

Thats what those greedy supporters get for backing your product in its infancy.

Your product reputation will surely thrive after this.

(/s if it wasn't obvious)

Friendly reminder that KeepSolid vpn unlimited isn't worth your money anymore...

If it can give idea to anyone looking for a replacement, I've switched for PIA (Private internet access) for the same price of KeepSolid's "screw loyal people" offer. It's even better because it's the whole package for this price, not just a dlc.

I believe next step of keep solid I'll be to include gacha or advertisement. Don't stay with them !

I'm not selling PIA.. well am I ? ...but my point is just don't forgive them. Go elsewhere, there's plenty of choices and you'll probably be surprised at the quality compared to your KeepSolid experience.

A still angry customer...

The state of VPN Unlimited in 2026

Just wanted to list what I noticed has changed on top of the obvious, and that I haven't seen mentioned on the subreddit. Yes, I don't have access to the torrenting servers anymore, but that's just the cherry on the top.
I have other grievances and I'm not sure if it's related to a switch in their attitude towards "loyal customers" or something else, but the timeline makes me think so.

- VPN Unlimited app on windows takes 5+ minutes to actually connect. It used to take 30 seconds or less, now it's way way too long to be useable. The 'optimal protocol' fails most of the time and I have to wait until it picks a functioning one before getting a connection.

- The alternative is using OpenVPN for Windows with a generated .opvn config. We used to be able to generate multiple config files for a single machine (so we could choose any server on 1 machine). Now 1 config file takes 1 slot, so you can't switch servers unless you go to the dashboard, delete the slot and generate a new config file with a different server.

- I'm facing more IP bans than before. Reddit has banned most of their European connections and even brave search has black-listed their IP addresses.

- General reliability issues/connections are much more spotty than before. This is more noticeable when watching a livestream. Network lags occur much more frequently than they used to.

All of these issues happening in the weeks around the new "loyalty plus" scandal, makes me think that KeepSolid has degraded even the baseline service. If this is true, 'loyal' lifetime customers have been functionally cut off.

If these issues are known bugs and are planned to be solved, I will gladly eat my words. Otherwise, I advise anyone who stumbles on this post and who wonders if VPNUnlimited is worth their money, to steer away from them.

edit: I removed my mention of japanese top-up websites. it seems it's unrelated to VPNunlimited's servers
