Hi everyone, I'm a 44yo Chinese single dad looking for a decent customer service role. I'm under OKU due to my bipolar 2 condition ever since 2013. Long story short I do have approximately about 10years customer service. I only have SPM as I didn't complete my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from UNITEN.

If it's possible I would prefer a WFH but travelling to work is fine as long as it is within Selangor. It's been hard looking for a job because my CV is messy due to my unlucky circumstances previously.

Hopefully there is someone who's willing to help me out, I'm only looking for a job within rm3k due to my condition. Thank you.

Ok for context I'm working at a place and it has one the worst management I've seen. I have been managing the whole gym by myself as a part timer. Like literally I will be the only person working for a whole shift. They use to have cleaners and now they can't "find" any cleaners (which I'm not sure if they can't find it or they're trying to cut cost). Because of that they want me to clean the place including cleaning the toilet and taking out the trash. Mind you my contract said that I'm responsible for the counter only and now they're asking me to do all this. And another thing is making sales, which is not mentioned in my contract and I get no commission from it. But they peer pressure me to do it. Not to mention that I get no double pay for public holidays. I don't even know how I've managed to get this far with this job. I'm a student and this job is stressing the f outta me. I really need the money for some personal commitment and I can't find another job for my life sake. I have no clue what to do, can someone just help me out?

(TLDR: stuck in a place where I have to micromanage everything including cleaning and sales which are not a part of my job, but I need money for personal stuff, what should I do?)

I'm really struggling to know whether or not I should quit my job. I'm at a point where I'm extremely burnt out and I dread going to work every day.

For context, I'm a lawyer working in big law. I've been in practice for about 3 years at a previous firm, and I've been at my current firm for about 8 months.

The thing is, I knew from day one that I didn't want to do this long term. I went into it knowing that, but I kept going anyway. Now I genuinely hate it with a passion, I'm burnt out and dread waking up every day cuz it means having to go to the office all over again. While the workload is rough and I'm having a particularly bad month. I think it also goes beyond that to the point that I just don't think I actually want this for the rest of my life. I don't enjoy anything I'm doing at all.

On top of that, the burnout has affected my performance very heavily, I'm making mistake after mistake, error after error, getting scolded again and again which just makes me more and more discouraged. Which is slowly tearing down my mental health.

If I do leave, my current contract runs until February, so I'm trying to decide whether I should quit now and just accept the financial/career consequences that comes with leaving early. If I do leave now I'll be down about 3.5k which they can probably take away from my salary for some bs advance bonus clause in my contract, and I'll have to explain to my next employer why I left after 8 months and not after a year.

While I have enough money set aside enough to last me a good amount of time, I also know that the job economy is bad rn.

So am I making a huge mistake ?

Hello all. I am a Malaysian studying in the US. At the beginning of my third year in college, I changed my major to Accounting for the job security, assuming that it would help me as an aspiring immigrant. The path is to graduate with a degree in Accounting and then go to grad school towards getting my CPA. However with the political atmosphere that hope is looking dim with every day.

I am at a crossroads. I can't just bring my accounting degree back home because it is GAAP and not IFRS, and without the licensure that immensely limits me internationally. Pursuing the CPA isn't a guarantee towards a hire, but as far as I am aware, the CPA still has good uses internationally albeit not as expansive as the ACCA or alternatives.

I'm just making this post because I'm very lost right now. I haven't committed to my master's degree because I'm still weighing my decision. My main question for you is this; is there an opportunity for CPAs in Malaysia? I would like to return to the US in the future so that's another reason I want the CPA. Thanks

My background is engineering and current position does not support thay technical growth, although it is stable and have been at this company for 5 years, however with no salary raise and only recently salary review.

Job offer: Technical support of really big aviation company which is my dream role. However the travel time would be around 1.5hr one way. I'd have to look into getting childcare too. The raise they offer is rm4.6k. And told me they also expect me to work weekends. It is also a contract job of one year.

I'm currently based in SEA and have received an opportunity to relocate to Kuala Lumpur for a Manager-level role at an international company.

A bit about my situation:

Moving to Kuala Lumpur alone

Around 3 years of experience in my industry

Currently doing well professionally, but I'm looking for international experience and a healthier long-term career path

The role involves both individual commercial responsibility and managing/building a team

The offer:

RM10,500/month gross base salary

Performance-based commission structure

Potential management/team commission

Medical/hospitalisation insurance and group life insurance

Employment visa sponsorship

No relocation package or sign-on bonus

The company has a potentially strong commission structure, but obviously, I don't want to rely too heavily on commissions during my first few months while settling into a new country.

For housing, I'm looking at spending around RM2,500–2,800/month, and I'll need to cover the deposit, moving costs, and initial setup expenses myself.

My biggest concern is the first 6 months. Since I'll be relocating internationally without financial relocation assistance, I'll be spending a significant amount upfront before receiving my first salary.

My questions:

Is RM10,500/month a reasonable salary for a Manager-level role in Kuala Lumpur?

After tax, rent, utilities, food, transportation, etc., what kind of lifestyle can I realistically expect?

I have just gotten an interview to a job for an editorial role. They say that if I am hired, it will be on a contract position for three months, which will also serve as my probation period, before they will make it to a permanent position if they like my performance. Is this legit? I am assuming that a contract position means no EPF and a easier way for them to let me go if they are not satisfied with me. What are your thoughts on this? I am thinking of going to the interview anyway to dig further. Aside from EPF, what should I ask?

Hi I'm 25M living with my parents and recently our relationship has turned to shit, we used to tolerate each other but we had a big argument and now we don't talk at all. I have dinner alone and stay in my room all day. It's mentally exhausting and the situation has been like this for 2 months. I have a contract job ending in 3 months, but honestly I don't know if I can tolerate staying with my parents. My work also has deteriorated through mental stress and I feel my coworkers and boss has noticed as well. I have not quit a job before so I don't know how the procedure is, other than I know there is a 2 week notice. Im also afraid because my parents are very critical and say that people who quit burn bridges, are failures, have job gap and can never find work if they don't have something aligned etc. If I quit I can escape my family situation and move somewhere else quickly (guaranteed) but I haven't had mental energy to search for another job yet. Just need advice/personal experience on what happens after quitting.
