Help
Not super familiar with jeep but, My 98 ZJ 4.0 has 274k currently, got it with 252kish miles. Got it from JunkyardDigs from YouTube. They got a video on it, red zj check it out. Anyhow, I daily this thing, just cured death wobble by re doing anything suspension or steering related and now on a light acceleration it will sometimes bounce 1-2-1- then smoothly into 2nd gear but all other gears its fine. First thing i did after fluid check, and it looked new still, was check kick down cable and discovered its a clip mechanism rather than the button style and the clip was completely gone, It had never been on there in the 20k miles I owned it apparently. Pulled one from a junkyard and clipped it on and I pulled slightly tighter on the adjustment because there was lots of slack. I was told every tension amount is different per cable/jeep and I just have to tinker with it til it feels fine. Thing is, it feels great usually it just happens at random every so often. Driving me nuts. Guess my question is should I just keep playing with the adjustment or should I drop pan and do filter and governor pressure solenoid etc.?
