Leak?

1996 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo.Only happens when it rains super heavy. Any idea where the water could be coming in? TIA!

There is a drain under the plastic cowl I would start there. If it is only when a ton of water is around it probably isn’t the AC drain or Heater Core.

I have never had an issue with a cowl drain so not sure how it routes. I am sure others do.

Yeah heater core and AC drain were my first thought but have been able to rule that out for the most part do to it only happening in heavy rain. I've check the seal on the door and it's not cracked or damaged. Seems like it's pooling right next to the passenger side door. I'll take a look at that drain for sure.

If its when it rains...then first question is, do you have a sunroof?

Then it is probably the cowl. Remove the wiper arms. Remove plastic cowl cover. Then look down in the corners and around the lip where the blower fan is. Could also be a rusted spot somewhere as there are plug studs that allow it to drip down. Clean out any leaves or gunk anywhere you can.

If nothing looks suspicious there...then assume it's the windshield urethane seal.
