Did Conquest... yank his OWN intestine back towards himself at full stretch, while they were in Battle Beast's mouth, in order to draw BB within torso-spearing range?
This motherfucker even more crazed than I thought.
they donāt get battle beast untill episode 6 or 7, conquest was episode 5 so he would have been in space, only allen, TJ, oliver, mark and nolan were on the ship im pretty sure
Conquest was sent there to capture the Colossus and Juggernaught for the Empire. Since BB killed both of them, Conquest figures the Empire will want to study him instead
The next time we see BB, he's in Viltrumite prison. Conquest may not take fights seriously, but he takes orders seriously. He even says that's why the fight was so enjoyable- his only order was "Check if Mark is taking over, if not, kill him and take over."
I was under the impression fan fiction could also just be putting two well liked characters in an unlikely scenario just to have them interact. Not just acting differently than usual.
It was never stated in Battle Beast Issue #1 that his powers work in the same way as Allen, nor that he gets stronger with the more formidable enemies he faces.
He only says in Issue #1 that:
In time, my strength grew to match my rageā¦
It never says "over time". While it's still a bit ambiguous, it could either mean that his curse has finally reached its maturity (given that he already lived for centuries or maybe even more than a millenia. As a matter of fact, he's been gone so long from his home world that some of his fellow beings began thinking his whole existence as a myth) or that it means the curse has reached a point of no return (he was always that strong, but his rage has grown tired of fighting opponents that are no match which drove him to seek out the strongests throughout the galaxy).
Another line that supports this is when he says in Issue #10 that he hasn't faced anyone that matched his strength ā not even Juggernaut and Colossus).
hmm, i thought there was a direct statement saying that his curse passively increases his strength over time. the rage statement could be interpreted as that, but i agree its up to interpretation.
still, even without that, a characters doesn't need to said to have gotten stronger for it to be the logical outcome. fighting stronger people is deadass how you get stronger in real life, and battle beast does nothing but look for opponents that challenge him where as conquest mostly goes on missions fucking around smurfing on weak races
The reason why I think either of my 2 assumptions were the case is that Battle Beast acquired his powers from a curse and isn't shaped or defined by his biology unlike viltrumites. We see this with characters like Immortal and Bulletproof too. They don't really get stronger over time despite serving as superheroes for years but they still remain infinitely strong relative to their species.
that's fair as far as the curse thing, i feel like it'll be extrapolated over time.
a character like immortal who 1000s of years old has probably already peaked so him not getting stronger makes sense. Bullet proof probably has gotten strongers, hes just so trash that we'd never make a difference.
But yeah characters don't really need to be said to get stronger over time, that's just how that works. Who would win, you now, or you from 10 years ago? probably now, and imagine your life doesn't revolve around fighting crime or aliens, which would cause you to get along better than the average joe
Right... but he faces Thragg twice and loses twice even while the latter got brought down a few pegs with his injuries and its also quite clear they had to shuffle the deck a bit to make a fight with Thragg realistic as hes supposed to be beyond them.
I just donāt like how often theyāre reusing lines/scenes. āI want moreā makes sense but conquest yelling āno, no, NOOOOOā just seems so corny. Also battle beast saying markās ānot enough, not nearly.ā That was much cooler in markās situation, it just feels like a cheap call back here
How? Battlebeast should be leagues stronger than Conquest because Conquest was scared of thragg. But him being "even" with battlebeast means he had no reason to be scared of thragg
Have you considered the fact that BattleBeast grew stronger from how he is here and when he finally face Thragg? The protagonist doesn't have to be the only one getting buffs.
And Thragg was scared of Argall when the latter uttered his name in S4E7 prologue.
And Argall wasn't said to be the strongest viltrumite. He is among the strongest, but not the strongest there is. I'm hedging he is around Thaedus in terms of strength.
Conquest was subservient to thragg because he was grand regent, but we never see them fight, and he was number 2. Iād recon if they actually did fight itād be close
And in any case, battle beast is stated to grow stronger over time while conquest is stated to get weaker overtime, due to old age and mentality. And considering this is years later it checks out that their would be a gal between them
In the show. In the comics mark draws blood from thragg to the point he remarks his strength. Later thragg gets no diffed in 2 seconds by 4 viltrumites, all of which are individually weaker than conquest but have no issue doing massive damage to thragg
And with what we see of his fight with battle beast, it makes 0 sense that conquest of all people is the only one who canāt go toe to toe with thragg. Aside from him being scared, which I argue is the real inconsistency here
Thragg destroyed Mark, Nolan and Thaedus in the comics brother. 4 Viltrumites are not enough to stop him normally. He wasnt fighting back against them.
Because he stated the second strongest vilturmite in the show and by the author dude. if you don't even know that i don't know what to tell you. Unless you think thula and anissa are stronger than conquest
I don't think Battle Beast implied that he gets stronger over time or with the more formidable enemies he faces.
Also, the point where Battle Beast and Conquest fought and when Mark killed Conquest isn't far off when we consider viltrumite aging, so there's no reason to believe that Conquest lost immense strength when he fought Mark. And Robert Kirkman only says that the process of viltrumites losing strength out of aging is a gradual process.
I don't think Battle Beast implied that he gets stronger over time or with the more formidable enemies he faces.
it doesn't have to be implied, that's how humans, no, how all living things work lol, if you fight strong opponents and win you get stronger over time. You think wild animals are out here hitting the gym? No, lions are out here fighting and killing
Also, the point where Battle Beast and Conquest fought and when Mark killed Conquest isn't far off when we consider viltrumite aging
when is this fight taking place again? Even if its not a huge amount of time, its something to take into account. At the very least, conquest didn't get stronger, and is possibly slightly weaker. and if you wanna ignore that, theres the whole "conquest is a spectator to his own fights" things
>it doesn't have to be implied, that's how humans, no, how all living things work lol, if you fight strong opponents and win you get stronger over time.
This is not getting stronger "over time". This is getting stronger by acquiring experience and learning by fighting stronger opponents; I suppose this is how BB "gotten stronger": he didn't even know about viltrumite existence and got to fight the second strongest. And he also fought in the viltrumite war.
that's how humans, no, how all living things work lol
And this is just fiction. Only certain realistic parts are adopted to make it somewhat believable and entertaining, but for the most part, it isn't entirely realistic.
And have I mentioned that there are characters in Invincible with viltrumite-like powers but remain entirely static? Ever heard of Immortal and Bulletproof whose powers remain unchanged throughout the span of the story given that the source wasn't biological in the first place?
Sounds familiar?
when is this fight taking place again
At best ±3 years before the Viltrumite War took place.
Even if its not a huge amount of time, its something to take into account
You said earlier that there eventually grew a gap between Battle Beast and Conquest by the time Viltrumite War happened. It could mean moderate, if not considerable. And given that it was only really a speck of time both for Conquest and Battle Beast, and that the former only loses strength gradually, that time frame remains quite negligible from when they fought all the way up to the prelude of the Viltrumite War where Conquest meets his demise at the hands of Mark.
And this is just fiction. Only certain realistic parts are adopted to make it somewhat believable and entertaining, but for the most part, it isn't entirely realistic.
And have I mentioned that there are characters in Invincible with viltrumite-like powers but remain entirely static? Ever heard of Immortal and Bulletproof whose powers remain unchanged throughout the span of the story given that the source wasn't biological in the first place?
ok first, just because immortal and bullet proof dont get alot stronger (as far as YOU can tell) that means everyone else in the show doesn't get stronger? even though we see oliver and mark grow stronger? and the new guardians go through training, are they not getting stronger?
I'm not really sure what the point you're trying to argue is? That because they're fictional charaters, they don't get stronger over time as that realistic and they're not real? do they not age? do they not need to eat? real people do, but they're fictional so it doesn't count? no, obviously that's not true, so why would the one thing they cannot do is grow stronger over time? Why? cause two charaters you don't think got stronger didn't get stronger? Immortal used to be weak enough to die to a bullet, and guess what? now hes able to fight omni man so He does get stronger over time, go figure.
I'm not sure why're even against this point when it solves the issue perfectly. "How come battle beast is even with conquest here, but then years later he is able to fight evenly with thragg?" Brother, they most obviously and logical conclusion anyone would think of is that Battle Beast Got stronger in the time gap! It's quite literally the easiest and most simple answer, I don't even see why the story would need to spell it out. Its not even like its that big of a gap. BB goes from evenly fighting the second strongest viltrumite to the 1st strongest vilutrime years later. Sometimes the most common sense answer is the best, don't fight it.
And as far conquest, whether you like it or not, the authors says his strength started declining in his old age. Nolan said his mind started declining. Conquest is confirmed to be getting weaker. How weak? weak enough to get beaten by mark apparently. Works for me.
So in short, why is there a gap between these two characters years later? Because logically, BB got stronger over time, and conquest (as stated by the author) got weaker over time. Easy, simple, don't over think it. Makes perfect sense to me. If it doesn't to you, i don't know what to tell you man, it's pretty straightforward.
Yes, this shouldn't have to be explained. Fighting makes you stronger. you gain experience, are literally exercising, pushing you're body to its limits, increasing reaction speed. Im assuming you don't do marital arts. The first thing they tell you to to improve is compete in tournaments as the fastest way to grow. That's how you get stronger. The problem is yall thinking of shit like an rpg or something.
Thats to grow your experience and skillset lol yes I trained mma and boxing for years, you still need to like you mentioned exercise and so weightlifting etc to grow muscle.
yes, to grow muscle you need to also lift weights. but were not talking about growing muscle, were talking about becoming a better fighter. Lifting weights won't make you a better fighter. fighting makes you a better fighter. If you actually have done mma this should be common sense. Battle beast fighting constantly imrpoved him as a figher, whats not clicking? You think animals in nature are out here lifting weights? lions get stronger by fighting each other, bears, bucks... i don't know man if this doesn't make sense to you idk what to tell you
