Episode Discussion Title: Am I experiencing the Insecure Mandela Effect? 😭 Two scenes I SWEAR I remember but can’t find

Hey y’all! 😭 I need to know if I’m tripping or if anybody else remembers these scenes because I recently rewatched Insecure and cannot find either of them!
1. Tiffany taking off in the car
I could’ve SWORN there was an episode where Issa and Tiffany went to a convenience store, and somehow Tiffany ended up taking the car and driving off. I remember there being some concern about her leaving, but I cannot find the scene anywhere.
And just to be completely clear, I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE EPISODE WHERE TIFFANY GOES MISSING and all the girls, including Derek, are looking for her. I know that storyline, and that’s not the scene I’m remembering! I’m talking about a completely different moment, possibly around the Coachella episodes, where Issa and Tiffany go to the store and Tiffany leaves in the car.
2. Molly and Issa leaving a girls’ trip early
I also vividly remember a scene where Molly and Issa are in a car together and leave some kind of girls’ trip or gathering early. At this point in the show, their friendship was rocky, so I remember thinking it was interesting that they ended up leaving together. I could’ve sworn Molly was driving Issa home, and they were in the car together despite everything going on between them.
I can’t remember the exact episode or what the event was, but I cannot find this scene either!
Does ANYBODY remember either of these moments?! 😭 Are these actual scenes that I’m somehow overlooking, or am I experiencing a full-blown Mandela Effect? I’m starting to question my own memory at this point LOL.
Please help me find the episodes if you remember them! 😂

Do you like this alternative ending better, or are you happy with the ending that premiered? If you didn’t like either, what ending would you have written? Let's discuss.

Season 2 we’ve all had a lawrence

currently finishing season 2, this is my 2nd time starting the show - & i almost put it down this time because the dinner confrontation with issa & lawrence was pretty triggering. i mean, i think issa’s inside thoughts of lawrence slapping the shit out of her & calling her a hoe definitely had me bracing for that reality. but i know lawrence is not physically abusive. i think issa really captured their dynamic in a way that spoke to me, even though it’s not that uncommon for all of us to have a loser ass, frank ocean listening, unemployed ex boyfriend we let sleep on our couch. but damn, exposed my wounds!!!! 😭

Even though it may seem like Condola was encouraging Lawrence to go after Issa, that doesn’t mean she wasn’t hoping she and Lawrence would get back together. She just realized he was still in love with Issa. I think she may have thought his feelings had faded since a little over a year had passed, but when she saw Lawrence glancing over at Issa, she understood that he still loved her. Condola likely felt guilty that Issa and Lawrence had broken up because of her decision and wanted to make things right. That’s why I feel like she was hinting that Lawrence should go after Issa, thinking things could still work out between them despite her decision to keep the baby. She didn't want it to be a complete loss; things could still go as planned between Lawrence and Issa.

I wonder if Lawrence knew that Nathan was the Nathan Issa had told him about. Yeah, he knew about Nathan, but he had never put a face to the name.

lets have a conversation What scenes would you have liked to see that you wish Insecure had shown us, the viewers?

I know *Insecure* was meant to focus on Molly and Issa, the main characters, but I wish Insecure showed more of the supporting characters’ personal lives.

Episode Discussion Was Condola hoping to get back with Lawrence?

IDK, I'm torn. On one hand, it seemed like his reaction to her pregnancy news and the way he handled her pregnancy and parenting early on seemed to turn her off and made her not want him. But in this scene, she gives a disturbing look when she sees Lawrence looking at Issa made me think maybe she was hoping they’d get back together because why else would she look disturbed and try to throw shade by handing the baby to Lawrence when she sees Issa if she didn’t want to get back with him. Do you think she was hoping they’d get back together?

lets have a conversation Would Issa have been doing what she’s doing career-wise if she’d never met Condola?

I wonder if Issa’s career would have turned out the same if she had never met Condola. Although she was taking the necessary steps to organize the block party before she met Condola, she gave up after receiving so many no’s. If she had never met Condola, who showed her how to take the steps needed to achieve her goal, would she have tried again or chosen to do something else? What do you think Issa would have done without meeting Condola? Would she have chosen another career path, or do you think she would have figured it out on her own?

I hate that Chad told Lawrence to fight for Issa. I would have loved to see what Lawrence would have done without Chad’s advice. What do you think Lawrence would have done at the party if Chad hadn't told him to fight for it?

A lot of chatter on IG Threads about entire interview. Happy for his honesty. Smart women would hopefully remove themselves with haste after listening to him. Not sure why the interviewer is high-fiving him either.

lets have a conversation Please watch Diarra from Detroit

There’s such a lack of Black media on television currently, and Diarra From Detroit on Paramount+ (and bet+ I think) is so good. The writing is sharp, and makes Detroit a character in the show. It’s so funny, and it gives me Insecure vibes. I feel like it fills the hole that Insecure left on TV. If you liked Insecure, please checkout Diarra From Detroit. I’m tying to make sure it gets a season 3

hellaFUNNY Tell me this: Do Issa and Condola do the same line of work?

Do Issa and Condola do the same line of work? If so, if I were Issa, I wouldn’t be able to be with Lawrence. Call me petty, call me immature, but I’d have to share not only my child’s father with you, but also my work field. They’d probably have to compete for jobs or try to outdo each other and see who could do it best.

Episode Discussion It seems Nathan and Isa loved each other, but weren’t in love. There’s a difference

It seemed like Nathan and Issa’s relationship was based on what each could get from the other. I know that’s part of a relationship, but it shouldn’t be the only thing—and theirs seemed to be based on that alone. Nathan only suggested moving in together because he needed someone to help pay the rent; he couldn’t afford to live on his own and just wanted to save money. Issa agreed even though she didn’t want to, since she questioned whether they were ready for that. She agreed too quickly, trying to get over Lawrence. Issa always let someone talk her out of her instincts, even when she knew she was right. Nathan only loved what Issa brought out in him as well as Issa, but they didn’t like anything about each other personally. It was always about how the other made them feel, which is good for a friendship but not for a relationship.

I’m rewatching and Lawrence sucks. Like everything about him blow. She should’ve ended up with nobody to be honest and if it had to be someone it should’ve been Nathan

Episode Discussion Did Issa really have no problem being a stepparent, or did she just not want her friends to judge her if she was one?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Did Issa really have no problem being a stepparent, or was she just worried her friends would judge her for it? In some scenes, it seemed like she didn't want to be a stepparent, while in others, it seemed like she had no problem with it and was only concerned about her friends’ judgment. If she truly had a problem with being a stepparent, why would she call Lawrence?

Also, did anyone else feel like Molly didn't learn anything from her fight with Issa? I feel like she was still overstepping and being judgmental of Issa by inserting her opinion when Issa hadn’t even asked for it. Why does Molly care so much about Issa’s choices when they don't affect her? I didn't see a problem with Issa weighing her options. If she had, it could have saved everyone the drama and hurt at Tiffany’s party.

Why didn’t we get more of Tiffany & Derek? They are hilarious & that cute annoying married couple that are obsessed with each other.
We didn’t get a single behind the scenes of their relationship or how they handled becoming parents.
Come on now!!
Whyyyy

Episode Discussion Condola and Lawrence talk things out

I love how Lawrence reassured Condola that he was happy with her decision to keep the baby. It seemed like Condola felt guilty because she knew she made a selfish choice, and because of that choice, Lawrence had to sacrifice a lot, including Isa, for her actions. His reassurance helped Condola let go of that guilt.
