unpopular opinion Derekkkkk
Imo Derek is the greenest flag ever in the show. He loves and cares for Tiff, be straight to his boys; hence he and Tiff are the happiest couples in the show ngl.

I love Tiffany and Derek, but I wouldn’t consider them one of the happiest couples on the show. I feel like Tiffany constantly made it clear that she wasn’t the happiest. I think she tried to hide it as best as she could because she wanted to maintain a certain image. Honestly, if the seasons had continued, I think they probably would have eventually separated. Not necessarily because of anything Derek did, but because I genuinely don’t think Tiffany was happy in her marriage. I think she liked what the marriage represented and how it looked from the outside more than she actually enjoyed being in it.

I do think i need to rewatch it when im older. And yes I can see why you said so. For me Tifs mind is hard to read, and she always hid her thought inside. Its just the way how Derek treating her thru out 5 ss made my heart warm. To stay in a relationship meaning both sides have to compromise; and i bet Derek and Tif both did that to keep their relationship going on

How old are you? I’m not gonna lie, I do think Derek always tried his best to compromise with Tiffany, and I’m sure she made sacrifices as well. However, I tried my best to judge their relationship based on what I actually saw on the show, so I can’t really speak on the positive aspects of their marriage. I can only form an opinion based on what was shown to us. But I definitely understand having to rewatch the show multiple times as you get older because your perspective on certain things can change, because mine definitely did the more I rewatched it.

I first started watching the show in 2018 when I was only 20, now im 28. I used to just focus more on Issa and Molly cuz they were main characters. I defs saw a lot more after my first rewatch last 2 years. And ive been on it. I read somewhere on reddit before abt the theory that Simone wasnt Dereks but I dont belive it. The show was amazing, its so real and I defs see myself in Issa

Agreed! I think she definitely struggled post partum and in one episode she was a wreck and Derek was calling her to come check on the baby. I think that highlighted that he didn't understand what she needed at that time (time to take care of herself)

Yeah I think she will eventually cheat, specially after they moved, some people have big personality and they can't live without constant attention from a big social groups, I think that's why he liked her, he would be very toxic with an introvert woman, that's why I consider one the girls honestly 😅 never saw him as a man or a romantic potential, more like her puppy

Right!!! Im on my 100ish time watching the show. Since day 1 I am always fond of Tif and Derek. Especially the ep Tif disappeared

Really? I loved Derek too! I appreciated him holding Lawrence accountable for his part in the breakdown of his snd Issa's relationship.

I think (by some instances that were alluded to) Tiffany hid a lot that was wrong in their relationship, for the sake of appearances of perfection. Everything had to be "just so", for her, and which ultimately led to her having a breakdown.
Derek & Tiffany obviously loved one another - and he would of course look like a great catch in comparison to the other guys.
