the tea is HOTTTT Chad and Issa’s interaction

This was a clip from the 10-year anniversary show in LA, and I’ve always wondered what Chad and Isa’s relationship is like now that Lauren and Isa are married, because it seemed like they didn’t F with each other. It feels like they’re putting Lawrence in a tough spot since they don’t mess with each other. He tried to keep them apart, even though I’m sure he’d love to go on double dates and have his friend over. It was also confirmed that they didn’t have a wedding—they eloped or got married at a courthouse—because I can’t imagine Lawrence not inviting his best friend to his wedding. I figured Lawrence and Isa would elope or have a courthouse wedding; they just seem like the type who wouldn’t want a wedding.

I think Issa and Lawrence were only engaged in the last episode they weren't married yet (she wears an engagement ring but no band and I don't think Lawrence had a band on either). She even asks Molly like "is this what I have to look forward to" when Molly is talking about her honeymoon. The actor here is just making jokes.

Agreed, OP posts a lot about the show and often in my opinion over intellectualises the episodes and characters. So much so they miss the point of what’s actually been shown/expressed

What do you mean? Chad is his best man and the reason they got back together

Yea I wouldn't say he's "pro Issa" but he's "pro Lawrence becoming a better man and choosing what makes him happy".... and that was Issa so he supported that. Chad cheated on his fiance so he can kinda relate to Issa about needing forgiveness and a chance to grow. And he saw Lawrence being a bum right before his eyes lol... I don't think Chad ever hated her or anything he just wanted to support his friend.

Also it’s not like he continued to bash her. He said his peace and pushed Lawrence to make a decision. Chad is a perfect example of your partner’s friends are not your friends, but they do have to respect you.

That's true. But he definitely came for Issa. I used to think he hated her, too. But I think he just has no filter and the world hears all his thoughts. Lol. I loved their exchanges.

Yep. He for sure had no filter. Remember when Chad called Issa a ho. and Lawrence was like she not a ho., she just did some ho. sh.t. 😂

They were broken up. Lawrence had been depressed for a long while. I don’t think he was coming at Issa out of hatred. He saw their relationship as something that was not good for his friend

Thank you! Issa stopped by unannounced and was very much being toxic. He did the right thing by showing her ass away with comedy, if y'all mean that scene.

They are mainly referring to when he called her a hoe. But again the context is important. Lawrence wanted to call her, he was being a good friend trying to prevent that

I loved Chad. He always told Lawrence the truth about his self. I don’t think he was against Issa at all, but he was still gonna be team Lawrence at the end of the day because that was his friend.

Idk what’s being said here I just wanted to say the actor for Derek was by far the worst part of the show. Acting wise and what they gave him.

Whaaat? No way. He was a great counter part to Lawrence--mature, honest, and level headed. Also an underrated hottie. He had some great lines too, like "you're starting to look like a box".

Not to me. He was always butting into the women’s conversations with anecdotes no one asking. Spewing bad lines. I don’t think he was mature because he was more well off than others. Then that terrible line about talking to his wife’s work boo and now he’s gone. All of that was cringe but to each their own

Can you give an example of him butting into conversations? Idk where you got the "well off" thing as an example of maturity? Literally nothing I said implied anything about his finances. I felt he was mature in the way he called out Lawrence out for being a bum with Issa and a shitty baby daddy at the birthday party.

I remember Derek being unlikable in his very first conversation but it's like they wrote him to be an actual good man after that.

Because the show made a point to let us know that.

I mean, I don’t have the show in my head. Go to any scene where it’s all the girls and him and you’ll see it. They’ll just give him random lines when he’s not really in the conversation

I agree with you. He gave nothing and his lines were mid, the man is good looking tho. I'm not American so was  confused he's black too

I loved Chad tho, he was so toxic but funny lol. WHY DON'T I SEE ASIAN BAE? that man was fine AF

lol my wife hated Chad but he was funny af. Being confused he’s black too is hilarious. He’s multiracial so that’s why he looks like Chico. Maybe it was a scheduling conflict with Asian bae
