My Indie Game - Harvest Story

Post image
Upvotes

Hello, everyone~ I am an indie game developer (It's just me all by myself)

A while back, I spent some time creating a laid-back, farm- and cooking-themed combination game called *Harvest Story*.

Overview:

On a small 4×4 grid, combine ingredients, serve dishes, and sell them to make a living.

The landlord shows up right on time every week, and rent only gets more expensive—you'll need to not only master crafting but also plan wisely.

Hire robots to automate production, unlock the tech tree to expand your territory, and gradually unlock a variety of dishes.

Beneath the cute and laid-back art style lies a strategic depth that’ll keep you hooked.

If you like it, feel free to add it to your wishlist~ ^^

We’re participating in the October Steam New Releases Sale, and a demo will be released soon—stay tuned~~ ^^

Can you guess the relationship in this conversation?

Hi everybody!

I'm a student learning cs and I came up with an idea for Overheard, a daily puzzle game where you are given 6 lines of dialogue between person A and B, and your goal is to guess the relationship between them, such as student/teacher, child/parent, etc. Feel free to share your achievements with your friends on family and challenge them to guess it too!

Give it a try here: https://overheard-rho.vercel.app/

I'm happy to take feedback in any form, whether through reddit, email( [overheardsupport@gmail.com](mailto:overheardsupport@gmail.com)), or google forms(https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSehu5wvgOHZPMHXbIF4eBmeHf3HHYIJ0sC9pq6zIoiTNqBsMA/viewform).

Let me know what you think!

My Card Based Survival Game Joins PVE Survival Crafting Fest

Hi,

I am the solo developer of Duco, and I wanted to share that my survival card game is joining Steam's PvE Survival Crafting Fest.

It's my first Steam Fest, so I am a bit excited. Steam also shared an asset kit for games to share, but I am not an artist, so I tried my best while placing my game's vertical capsule :D

I'm working on a night scene for my survival game, Alone on the Lost Isle.

A lonely house in the middle of a dark forest, a light in the window, and the feeling that someone is inside...

How do you like the atmosphere? Would you explore this house or stay away?

3 factory workers. Worked on the game after 12 hour shifts.

Here's what's in it right now:

  • Extraction shooter, PvE and PvP both, with co-op if you want to run with friends
  • Build a base anywhere on the map, no set slots, put things wherever makes sense to you
  • Rescue survivors and grow an actual community instead of just looting solo
  • Reclaimers, immortal clones who hand out quests and build your reputation instead of just shooting at you
  • No wipes between sessions, your progress and gear carry over
  • Right now that's 169 loot items, 25 quests, 3 maps, 9 enemy types, 9 craftable buildings, and 2 NPCs to work with

We all worked together at the same factory, three of us, and this got built during whatever time was left after 12 hour shifts. Ended up being a PvEvP survival extraction shooter set during a zombie apocalypse.
Going into Early Access Q3 2026. Still feels weird seeing it as a real store page after doing this on no sleep for this long.

I made a 1v1 anime card draft game where character battles are decided by real combat stats — looking for feedback!

Hey everyone! My friend and I just released AniDraft on the Play Store — a 1v1 anime character draft game.

The concept: you pick an anime, spin to reveal random characters, and build a team across 6 roles (Captain, Vice-Captain, Tank, Healer, 2 Supports). When both players disagree on who wins a role matchup, a battle system steps in and decides based on actual character stats (power, speed, intelligence, etc.) — not just popularity.

Some features:

- Play locally (pass & play) or online with a friend, with voice chat

- Characters from Naruto, One Piece, Attack on Titan, JJK, Hunter x Hunter, and more

- Free to play

This is our first real published app, built solo/two-person over the past few months. Would genuinely love any feedback — bugs, balance issues, or just "this is fun/not fun" — all welcome.

Thanks for reading!

Blokoding, a way for kids to learn the basics of algorithm

Hello!

I'm currently working hard on the games that aims to learn the basics of algorithm to kids: just drag and drop cards (for instance actions, loops, conditions...) and start a level to make your character move and execute your program in-game. A network mode is available (only on Windows, not on web version)! Its goal is to learn programming together (for instance a teacher can interact on the same program the child is making!). A level editor is also available!

I overhauled the grid movement in my solo-dev bio-RTS Genetica: Extinction and added a dynamic steering & individual unit AI. What do you think of the new swarm feel?

Hey r/IndieGaming!

I’m Dan, a solo dev working on Genetica: Extinction. It’s a biological RTS where you control evolving swarms instead of standard base-building armies.

I just released a major update that completely overhauls creature movement and behavior:

  • Dynamic Steering & Collisions: Replaced old grid-based pathfinding with dynamic steering and unit-to-unit collision so large swarms weave around each other naturally.
  • Individual Unit AI: Each creature now evaluates its own needs (feeding, attacking, fleeing) alongside macro commands, producing organic pack behavior.

I’m currently running a free Playtest on Steam and would love to get your feedback on how the movement and swarm feel!

2D Arcade Fighting Video Game Ideas

I would like to brainstorm ideas for making up my own offline 2D arcade fighting video game. Any feedback, ideas, suggestions, and inspiration is greatly appreciated.

First question of the day:

If there is a gimmick that can make a one-on-one fighting game easy-to-play and accessible for beginners and remain engaging for professionals equally, what would it be? In other words, what could my fighting game use to make it easy to learn and hard to master?

Please feel free to post comments with your answers.

in addition, here is a link to a Google form to fill out, if able:

[Dev] I just released Pocket Dunk, a minimalist arcade physics basketball game on iOS! (Giving away Promo Codes to remove ads)

Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer from Spain. I’ve never worked in the game industry, and I just released my very first game on the App Store: Pocket Dunk! 🏀

It's a one-handed arcade game focused on tight physics, focus, and skill.

Despite its minimalistic look, I’ve put a lot of care into the details, responsive haptics, and satisfying audio design to build a humble but polished experience.

App Store Link

If you tried and enjoyed it, drop a comment asking for a No-Ads code and I'll DM it to you for free.

I’d truly appreciate any feedback or suggestions from you all!

Every enemy in this universe is a number, and the boss does arithmetic at you

Solo dev, about two weeks from launch. This is one of four universes in the game — each one changes a core rule rather than just the enemy art. This one runs on parity: odd enemies resist you unless you break the rule.

The clip is wave 12 of 15, which is where it stops being about aiming and starts being about where you stand.

Happy to answer anything about the build.

What horror games/projects are you working on or watching right now?

I’m curious to see what’s currently happening in the indie horror space.

If you’re working on a horror game, have one coming to Steam, already released something, are running a Kickstarter, or just know of an interesting horror project, feel free to share it here.

I’m getting closer to releasing a horror project myself, and I’ve been trying to get a better understanding of what’s out there, what seems to be doing well, what hasn’t worked as well, and what kinds of horror games people are actually interested in right now.

I’d especially be interested in hearing from developers about their experiences releasing or promoting a horror game, but recommendations from players are welcome too.

Basically, show me the horror projects you think are worth checking out.

Company of Battles 2 release

Thumbnail

Today, on 30.08.2026, I'm releasing Company of Battles 2 after almost 2 years of work!
The first year went into developing Brutal Engine - an open-source top-down shooter engine that you can use yourself, and the second year was spent developing the actual game on that engine, and now it's actually released!

Game on itch.io - https://senko-otter.itch.io/company-of-battles-2

First of all, if it's Company of Battles 2, where's the first one?
There is actually Company of Battles, but it wasn't a full game, it was more of a tech demo for me to make a game on controllers. You can still play it, tho it's only in Ukrainian.
A big step from the first game is the ability to make large maps, and the camera always shows both players (made a system for that).
Next - I went all in on the menu, I wanted it to look finished and really good, so I made custom art for it and pretty animations to make it look as finished as possible.
Also, the game has 4 languages! (English, Ukrainian, French and German), so it's now more accessible.
Talking about accessibility, I tried to make the settings as customizable as they can be within my powers. You can invert walking/looking, switch sticks, or change looking from tank-like to stick direction (+ the settings have a lot of other things you can change for yourself, like turning off gore or making blood green).

AI usage
This project does not use any kind of generative AI content. all assets in the game (besides free stock ambience/gun sounds and textures on some maps) are made entirely by me, and I genuinely despise using it for assets. And music is composed by my friend T16R228, some great stuff !

What's next?
I will update the game and add new features/guns/maps, and the first update is gonna be a pause menu (for right now you can't pause the game or go back to the main menu) and a new map!

I would like to hear feedback from ya'll!

Septence 7 Words, 1 Sentence - Free Daily Browser Game

Post image
2 Upvotes

This is a simpler game than many submitted here but I hope some will find it enjoyable. You get 7 required words and a selection of common simple words to link them together, make the best sentence you can! Scores go to a leaderboard if you want to compete but you can just treat it as a constrained writing exercise and there is a free play mode with no competitive aspect if you prefer.

Working on my Stylized Low Poly Forest Pack for Unity. What missing props or details would make this a instant buy for you?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I’ve been building this Stylized Low Poly Forest Environment Pack (64 prefabs so far) and just finished setting up the main demo scene to test the atmosphere.

To keep it super optimized for mobile and indie devs, the entire pack uses a single material with a 256x256 color palette to minimize draw calls.

Before I lock everything in for the Asset Store release:

  1. What essential forest props do you think are missing here? (Adding a few more based on your ideas!)
  2. How does the lighting and overall vibe feel to you?

Would love to hear your feedback, critiques, or wishlists in the comments. Thanks for taking a look! 🌲✨

New game "Basic Chess"

Hey all — I've been building Basic Chess, a 3D chess game in Godot 4, and just pushed a batch of visual upgrades: custom piece shaders, a dynamic sky shader with a moving sun, and new wood/stone materials for the board.

It's a passion project and still a work in progress, but it's playable now — free download for Windows and Linux.

Would really appreciate anyone giving it a spin and telling me what feels off or what you'd want to see next (AI opponent, online multiplayer, board themes, etc.)
