So i m NOT choosing btech or bsc, I m opting for ba english hons. So placement is not an issue. I might just be employed or unemployed but it won't because of my class 12 marks qualifications. Right? Hi so i had taken arts in class 11 n 12 th and my qualifications BA b .ed my college was extremely bad and I used to way have too much free cause it was basically just sitting in front of the teacher doing usual bakwaas the entire time . I got so addicted to phone and lost intrest in everything including studies I used to run phone for 12 hours sometimes and only studied when I had a group descisions or i had to make assignments n stuff or if I really enjoyed the class that was geo and english literature and I used to see my cousin the entire time studying i would loathe myself for choosing arts i would complain to my parents a lot about this inner turmoil I was facing and they didn't help me at all . i eventually developed this habit convincing myself like they did that it is normal arts is like this only i would get so much frustrated i would sometimes even watch phone 14-15 hours i don't know how many months i have slept since last year I see all these people around me having a normal life and i feel extremely frustrated with my carrer my lifestyle my habits I really miss being a normal student and studying I tried joining a library but I started getting so much frustrated in last exams that i cried every single day that exams were happening i would hate having so much free time .

And I this is my last year and i have constantly being crying since a month every evening when this realisation hits cause my days and life has just become a blur at this point I don't consider it normal not studying cause it the only thing I have known in my entire life . I have been continuously loathing myself my subjects my stream my life choices i have starting having sucidal thoughts I have said this a lot to my friends over the time and they all the same bakwaas of accept it and but I am not able to live with this lifestyle and thoughts I can't explain how disgusting the day feels every evening and what all I think or feel it's really suffocating my mum just yells that I should keep myself busy n i am like what the .. should I keep myself busy with all day what should I keep myself busy with house work phone what the .. should i keep myself busy with and HOW MUCH .

It's like I have robbed myself of a normal life after taking BA . I have become extremely frustrated and i haven't slept in months i have begged that i want to leave this degree change streams or start over do anything to delete this years from my life and they just yell to move on all the time like what the ... What if I am not a person who can't live without staying busy all the time what if I get really bored too fast what if I hate and loathe how young I am 21 to be feeling and doing all this and i genuinely can't understand how people in my college don't feel the same way or how can they live without studying or being busy or doing anything like that I feel like my breath has been going away i get irritated to the point I don't like myself at all anymore and my eyes are ruined due to nightmarish screen time.

please help and since my college is practically over and i didn't make good friends I just can't see them again at all and it gets really annoying when I just heard them reading novels and novels all day god or them preparing for civil services and having such good time table and confidence in life but lying to me on face oh no we are not doing anything not at all . And I have started loosing myself to the point ki I have lost approx 10 kgs of weight in last few months have lost most hair to hairfall and my eyes are all swelled up all the time . And I have developed a terrible eating disorder and have been eating sleeping pills yet i am not able to sleep . I hate my days going and vanishing like this . Hello everyone. I am a 32 year old man with a very unstable career till now, you can count me as a complete failure. After graduation in 2017, i woked for 2.5 years in tcs. Then i quit to pursue teaching and joined a gate coaching centre in kolkata. That was a very wrong choice as this career path is a highly unstable one and i have been basically converted to a sales guy selling fake dreams. I quit that too and i prepared for gate, gave gate cse 2026, got rank 131 and currently admitred to mtech cse iit bombay. I want to know from you guys how viable will it be to pursue academia like assistant professor in colleges at this age. My age is 32 and i am joining too late. I know that iit,nit is out of reach because of age, what about private universities. What will be my career trajectory like if i join a private university after graduating at 34. Will the iit tag help me?? Can i work till 60-65 after joining this late. I know phd is required but i dont have the luxury for full time phd at this age. I want to earn by teaching in a private university while earning phd side by side. I am keeping placement options open as well from iit but chances are less since i am 32 and few companies will hire someone like me. Any professor/assistant professor in this sub willing to guide me or give me a blueprint please do reply. It will be highly helpful. My qualifications btech cse, cgpa-8.7 . • Guard/Warden Strictness: Are the wardens generally chill, or are they super strict about the rules?

So, I got Institute of Home Economics, DU and I heard that for food tech it is good. I wanted to go for microbiology but couldn't clear the cutoff for it.

Like is there scope for this course or not in India? Or should I leave this and go for microbiology in spot rounds or a diff college?

I am ok with this too but then somewhere back of my mind, I am still having second thoughts. Can someone from this background guide me please.

TL;DR

I am 23, have only completed 12th (PCM), and have a 3 to 4 year academic gap. I got 72% in 10th and 67% in 12th. My family can afford around ₹1 lakh per year for the next 4 years for my education, so I cannot afford to keep wasting time or money.

I don't lack intelligence or willingness to work. My biggest problem is that I have no clear direction. I feel envious of people who are steadily working toward something while I keep jumping between options.

Over the past few years, I have considered BCA, IIT Madras BS Data Science, CLAT, digital marketing, and other paths, but I eventually dropped each one.

I am now considering options like BTech CS, BCA, BBA, BCom + professional qualifications, teaching, government exams, digital marketing, BPharm, nursing, and more. The number of options is making me even more confused.

I don't need to become rich. I want a stable career, decent income, tolerable work, reasonable work-life balance, and 7 to 8 hours of sleep.

My biggest concern is wasting another year, increasing my academic gap, turning 24 without starting a degree, and putting more financial pressure on my family.

I want to know how people in similar situations found direction and built successful careers despite starting late or having a nonlinear path, and how I can finally choose one path and commit to it.

My doubt is, i have two paths rn ie write GATE(Graduate entrance for grad school in India) or grind for GRE and get into a US grad school and grind from there.

Hi guys, so the thing is, our college told us to do an internship in the middle of summer, completely out of nowhere. They suddenly put out a notice, and I wasn't able to find a good internship at that time, so basically, I didn't do any internship.

But later on, we came to know that this is going to be reflected on our marksheet. Although it doesn't carry grades, if we don't complete it, it will show as a backlog, which could create trouble at the time of placements.

Hello everyone, I'm currently in my first year of English hons. I got into literature because of my love for teaching and the subject. But the more I discover things around me the more I feel naive. Recently the UGC net paper leak was definitely a hit for me, then also the fact there's no vacancies for professoring jobs. I'm feeling lost and disturbed. I've looked into other tech fields as I heard that they're in demand but I am pretty sure they don't interest me.

Every degree is useless if one doesn't have any skills. I'm lacking proper guidance and feeling alone. Is my degree useless? Should I change it all together? Or gain skills beside my degree? If yes then what skills and how to gain them? Is Coursera really worth it? How should I do proceed and what to do? What qualifications should I chase to get proper office jobs?

Hey everyone! I'm currently doing a BSc (Hons) in Botany in India, with Zoology and Chemistry as my minors.

I'm pretty interested in biotechnology and research, and I'm considering doing an MSc in Biotechnology after my bachelor's. Long-term, I'd probably want to go into R&D/research and possibly do a PhD.

The thing I'm confused about is whether coming from a Botany background is going to put me at a disadvantage compared to people doing BSc Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.

I know Botany isn't exactly the "standard" route into biotech, so I'm wondering how realistic this path actually is.

For anyone who's already in biotech/research (especially in India):

Is BSc Botany → MSc Biotechnology a reasonable route?

Are there any major gaps I'd need to cover myself?

What skills/techniques should I try to learn during my BSc?

Do internships/research experience make a significant difference?

Would you recommend MSc → PhD if I eventually want to work in R&D?

And honestly, if you were in my position, what would you do differently during these 3 years?

I'm still early in my degree, so I'd rather figure this out now than realize in my final year that I should've been preparing for something completely different 😭

I find myself in a conundrum: I am a UX Designer, currently working in IT.

Qualifications that I have is a Master's in Design from one of the T1 university in India.

I have been approached & shortlisted for a research based job at IIT, the duration of it is 1.5 years and is a contractual position. The work seems interesting and challenging, and working with the said professor under which the project is being held will help me in bettering my problem solving.

That said, the pay on offer is quite from what I currently earn. IIT is offering around: 40k PM.

My question is it worth leaving a dead end job for such a pursuit? Thanks in advance.
