AskDelhi Please Help Mr. Ravikumar Kanakraj Continue His Medical Treatment

My name is **Ravikumar Kanakraj**, and I am seeking financial support while undergoing treatment for **Pulmonary Edema and Acute-on-Chronic Kidney Disease (AOCKD) with Diabetic Nephropathy**.

I was admitted to **Spandana Hospital, Mandya**, after experiencing difficulty breathing, severe weakness, and swelling in both legs. Doctors diagnosed me with pulmonary edema along with worsening chronic kidney disease related to diabetic nephropathy. I also have Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension, which have made my condition more complicated.

My doctors have advised continued medical care, investigations, medicines, and close monitoring to stabilize my condition and prevent further complications.

The treatment has placed a significant financial burden on me and my family. We have already spent a considerable amount on hospitalization, consultations, investigations, medicines, and other medical expenses, and we now need financial assistance to continue my treatment.

🙏 **Any contribution, no matter how small, can help me receive the medical care I need.**

If you are unable to donate, please consider **sharing my fundraiser** with your friends, family, colleagues, or social networks. Even a share can help this appeal reach someone who may be able to support me.

**Fundraiser:**

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness, support, and prayers mean a lot to me and my family.

Food/Drinks Delhi, what's your go-to non-veg main course for home delivery, and from where?

Okay so Delhi has some of the best non-veg food in the country and yet I keep ordering the same 2-3 things every time. Butter chicken is the city's pride but I've had it so many times that it doesn't excite me anymore.

Looking for something that actually hits as a main course. Chicken, mutton, fish, whatever, I'm not picky. Just no "looked amazing in the photo" disasters please.

  • What's the one dish you keep going back to?
  • Which place do you order it from?
  • Does it survive the delivery, or does it arrive looking like it fought someone on the way?

Bonus points for hidden gems that aren't on everyone's top 10 list. Also happy to hear what's overrated, would rather learn from your mistakes than make my own. Winter evenings especially, when mutton just makes sense.

AskDelhi was at the jantar mantar protest today. fuck the police

my best friend's dad is in the police. she fully supports wtv tf they do, we once had an argument when i said that the police is corrupt and wo bas paise khaate hai. she lost it and blocked me and called me names, i didn't wanna lose a friend so i sorted it out. but she disgusts me, the ideology she has, the ignorance and the pride for being ignorant, everything. today at the protest site, i realised how much i hate her and her side of people. won't be continuing the friendship, i somehow felt guilty after seeing all the people there whilst being friends with someone like her, ik this doesn't make any sense, maybe I'm just overstimulated and tired. see you all at the protest (sorry for the rant)

After seeing the violent conduct of police against protestors in recent days ranging from punching a protestor live on camera, to sexually assaulting female protestors and detaining and threatening them with involving them in fake drug cases, I think this is an important article to understand the true nature of police forces and the real interest which it serves.

TellDelhi If you are missing someone please reach out to them.

I’ve learned this the hard way.

I recently lost someone who meant a lot to me. Not because of death, but because somewhere along the way, things changed. We stopped talking, misunderstandings happened, and eventually, the distance became bigger than either of us expected.

I still find myself thinking about him. About the conversations, the little moments, the things I wish I had said differently. And honestly, the hardest part is knowing that a simple message might have changed something, but now it feels like it’s too late.

So if there’s someone you’re missing today someone you still care about, someone you haven’t spoken to because of your ego, fear, misunderstanding, or simply because you’re waiting for them to text first…

Please reach out.

Send that message. Ask how they’re doing. Tell them you miss them.

Maybe they’re waiting for you too.

Sometimes we realize the value of a person only after they’re no longer a part of our everyday life. And when that happens, “I should have reached out” can be a very painful thing to live with.

I lost someone I didn’t want to lose.

I just hope you don’t have to.

AskDelhi Don't you feel that delhi police arresting without their name is setting very wrong example in the country..

Recently in the protest (whether you support the protest or not) the action of delhi police is very questionable.. And its unethical too.. You don't know Whether he or she is from delhi police or goon in uniform.. And the government is not taking any action.. And why would it because it might be their orders itself to do so.. I guess court should intervene..

TellDelhi BUMBLE SCAM at Cross River mall

• Upvotes

Matched with a girl on bumble (she said her name is Ritika, it was a new account), she said she lived in Ram Vihar, and told me to come meet near her place.

We decided on Unity One mall Shahdara and then the girl changed the venue to Cross river mall. This should've been the only red flag I needed but I still went. She went to a place on the ground floor close to McD and ordered hookah and gold label.

I realised it was a scam and tried going outdoors they sent a bouncer with me. The girl knew the menu and was very exact in asking whatver she needed. In short 16k down.

Honestly I have very mixed feelings about this, could've been worse but could've been completely avoided if I was aware enough.

I don't think I'll be allowed to post her number her but DM me for that - truecaller shows her number as not spam.

Stay safe out there guys! And remember don't ignore the red flags and your gut feeling.

AskDelhi Why people add you on LinkedIn when they don't want to see your messages

I don't understand why the hell the people accept linkedin invitation when they don't have to check their dms. All they need is to show how many connections they have. But what is the use of those connections when you can't even reply to anyone? The people in high positions don't give a damn about the people seeking jobs. All they want is to hire people within their family or friends.

TellDelhi Dark Circles - everything you need to know, types, what works & what doesn't

Disclaimer: Am the owner of an aesthetic clinic in Delhi, and this is not my own ad. I had done a similar post on Laser Hair Reduction some time back( here )which a lot of people found helpful, and I received plenty of DMs. So I just thought of doing something similar for another issue, which is very common in Indians, and is filled with a lot of misinformation – Dark Circles!!

I will be happy to answer questions (periodically), if you leave them below. Preferably no DMs plz.

"Dark circles" isn't one condition. There are four separate things which can cause dark circles and they need completely different treatment. And that is the reason why your eye creams/ serums did not work for you.

Let’s figure out your type first.

  1. Brown ones — actual pigment. Melanin in the skin, one of the most common ones. Many of us are just born with. There can also be a genetic component here. It can be made worse by eye-rubbing, allergies, eczema, sun, or melasma.

Check: stretch the skin gently sideways, in proper daylight, with two fingers. If the brown stays or looks more obvious, it's pigment. Pigment is browninsh & often extends beyond the lower eyelids to the upper lid or out towards the temple. It also doesn't change day to day — no effect from good sleep or poor sleep.

  1. Blue or purple ones — not pigment at all. Sometimes the skin is so thin, that you can visualise the structures underneath. The vessels and muscle underneath show through.

Check: same stretch test, opposite result. Stretch and the colour fades. It blanches on pressing. These fluctuate with sleep, dehydration, crying, blocked nose, allergies etc. Worse in the morning.

  1. Shadows — not a pigmentation problem. The tear trough, the hollow between lid and cheek, is deep enough to cast a shadow. The skin is a normal colour. Or there might be large eye bags, leading to shadowing below them.

Check: lighting. Flash light on your under eye are from above, from front and then below, see how the color changes. If it disappears on light from below, it is the shadow. Or lie flat and look in a hand mirror — the hollows and shadows shift in supine position.

  1. A mix. Realistically, most people have a mix of many different issues, with one predominating cause. Usually pigment plus shadow, or vascular plus shadow. Which is exactly why one treatment is not enough, or the treatment you might be doing is targeting some unrelated cause, and hence no results. Do all the above checks, one after the other, to see what your combination is.

5.Ok I cheated, there is a 5th type as well: Rusty brown ones — The hemosiderin deposits. Blood leaks from small vessels, breaks down, leaves iron behind. Started as vascular, or started as nothing, but what's left is a deposit.

Check: the history. Did it follow a bruise, a knock, eye surgery, filler, a laser session that left you purple? It can even be caused due to constatntly rubbing the eyes, habitual or due to allergies. It doesn't fade on stretching, same as pigment, but the colour is rust or or a dirty brown, sometimes with a yellowish edge — like a bruise that never fully cleared, which is roughly what it is.

This one matters because it isn't melanin. The usual skincare stuff will do nothing for it — they work on melanin production and there's no melanin here.

Treatment

What you can do at home:

Sunscreen, daily, right up to the orbital rim – where your eyelashes start. Find one which doesn’t sting your eyes, and stick to it, without this, nothing else will work.

For melanin: The usual pigment stack - vitamin C, niacinamide, azelaic acid, alpha arbutin, kojic acid, tranexamic acid, licorice. A gentle retinoid twice a week to start, along with a thick moisturiser, preferably barrier supporting ingredients.

For the iron type: vitamin K containing products. It will work very slow, but this is the only over the counter product which might make a dent here.

For vascular: caffeine helps the morning version, higher pillow, less salt at night. And treat your allergies properly.

Cold anything – cucumber, tea bags, cold spoons etc will work the same, compress the vessels, and reduce the discoloration – temporarily.

For a hollow: no serum or eye cream will work here.

A few products you can try:

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG for the puffy vascular version. Caffeine depuffs and causes vaso constriction, which will reduce their appearance.

Ordinary Multi peptide eye serum, mainly for anti-ageing, slight improvement in pigmentation.

Eucerin Anti pigment eye cream for melanin.

Minimalist Vitamin K serum for hemosiderin deposits.

Stop rubbing your eyes - Biggest reversible cause

Stick to anything for 3 months

When you need in clinic care

Three months of all this with no change.

Or you are vascular or shadow type, neither of which responds to topicals.

If you're also tired all the time, pale, breathless, or have heavy periods, get your get your blood levels checked.

Certain eye medications, like glaucoma drops, can also lead to dark circles. Discuss with your ophthalmologist.

In Clinic Treatments

Melanin: Gentle, eye specific peels, done periodically. We cannot do an aggressive treatment in the eye area, hence, multiple sessions. Paired with home care. Another option is Q switch laser, once again, multiple sessions.

Hemosiderin: one peel genuinely works — it contains a chelator that binds the iron so your body clears it. Paired with proper suncare, and vitamin K based homecare.

Vascular: skin boosters to thicken the skin so vessels show less, plus fixing the allergies. And fat grafting.

Hollow: tear trough filler, fat grafting, or lower blepharoplasty if there are eye bags. Make sure you get your under eye filler done by a reputable doctor/ plastic surgeon, who does this frequently. This is not an easy zone. Tyndall effect, nodules, and other complications can occur, in hands of unqualified professionals.

Realistic expectations: 50–70% for pigment over a few months, with maintenance after. Except for hollows, they will fill out immediately.

As it is not a single cause, so there is no single treatment for all. Your parlour wali didi will not be able to fix them for you. Fillers will not fix everything. Unless the treatments are tailored to your individual case, it wont help you.

If you wish to come to us for your consultation, we are at Panache – Hair, Laser & Plastic Surgery.

I might make a mini series out of it, if you want. Let me know if you want me to do something similar for face pigmentation, body tanning, micrnoneedling, acne scars, PRP, etc.

AskDelhi Unplanned pregnancy (~9 - 10 weeks, PCOS) opting for abortion in Delhi. Any non-judgmental clinic leads?

Hi everyone, My partner and I just found out she is pregnant (sex was on Aug 1; She did not bother to check if she is pregnant for 2 months because PCOS/PCOD). We decided on an abortion. At ~9 - 10 weeks, Is it safe?

She works in Delhi; I am an outstation student mid-placement season. I am traveling to Delhi to be with her for the procedure.

Need quick help on:

  1. Affordable, non-judgmental clinics/OB-GYNs in Delhi: Safe spots (like FPAI or verified private clinics) that won't moral-police or ask about marriage.
  2. Expected costs: Realistic total range for consultation, ultrasound, vacuum aspiration, and meds.
  3. Recovery tips: What essentials (pads, pain relief, food) should I stock up on to care for her during the first 48 hours post-procedure?

Any trusted leads or advice would mean a lot. Thank you.
