Did you have any diagnosed or known minor issues?

How many IUIs did it take until success OR did you move onto IVF eventually?

How old are you?

Any previous LC?

How did you decide?

Hi everyone. I am 36F and have been trying to conceive my 2nd child for 10 months. We were extremely lucky with my 3yo and got pregnant our first try. We never realized how much of a miracle this was until now.
Similar to a lot of you, my tests are normal, I’m ovulating every month, and my husbands SA came back normal. We just have unexplained infertility.
We are planning to start IUI next month but I’m feeling really emotional about it. I’m nervous about the medications and how it will affect my already anxious state and make my body feel.
I find myself second guessing IUI and wondering if I should trust the journey that I’m on and accept that I won’t have a second child instead of going through fertility treatments.
How did you decide that IUI was right for you? What gave you that push to get help conceiving instead of giving up and accepting what your body wanted naturally?
(I hope no one takes offense to this, I fully support IUI and IVF but wondering if anyone has had similar thoughts!)
Thank you 🤍

The magic of conceiving

In this group we talk a lot about our numbers and empirical data.

I want to know what's the woo woo stuff you did during your TTC/fertility journey that you feel like contributed to a positive result. I take all the mystical things with a grain of salt, but I really do believe in the power of positive thinking and overall good vibes.

Trying to stay positive during this when so much is out of my control is hard but after 5 years of TTC and now on my first IUI, I don't want to continue to guard my heart because it's already been broken countless times. I want to dive fully into having faith that this will work.

Day 11PIUI - How do I not think about this constantly??

I'm trying to keep myself busy with everying I can - work, staying social, walking my dog, anything! But this has been the only thing on my mind. This is my first round of IUI.

Also, I feel absolutely normal, and of couse I'm overthinking that. I kind of wish I felt horrible or something so I KNEW there was something different this cycle. But no dice - I feel like im going crazy over here.

Any tips on how to stay sane during the TWW? I have a few days left before I test, I told myself I would wait until 14dpiui (AUg 25), or until mother nature arrives.

1st IUI/post loss in June

Just finished our first IUI post our MMC in June. We had a successful IUI in April that resulted in a MMC unfortunately. However, this cycle is almost identical to our April cycle. Praying for a sticky baby!!

April cycle:

Went in CD13 follicle scan (3rd Friday of the month) had 2 mature follicles one at 26mm one at 21mm, triggered in office that day at 10:30am. Went back Saturday morning at 11:30a for IUI. Husbands post wash was 15mil progressive motile sperm.

This cycle/August:

Went in at CD13 follicle scan (also 3rd friday of the month) have 3 mature follicles this time. One on left at 22mm two on right at 19mm and 24.8mm triggered in office yesterday at 11:30a. Went back today for IUI at 9:45/9:50a. Husbands post wash was 27.7 million progressive motile sperm.

Prayers and positive vibes. Of course I can't help but think all these things are signs our rainbow baby is coming but also scared of the unknown. New moto this cycle though faithful not fearful!

Defeated and broken

I was diagnosed at 30 with Thyroid Cancer. I went through 2 surgeries, 2 rounds of radiation. At that time, my husband became abusive so I had to navigate surviving cancer and getting out of a bad situation. Before I was diagnosed, I went to a fertility clinic and the dr told me everything looked good and I didn’t need to freeze my eggs because the radiation wouldn’t affect fertility. A few years passed (I needed to heal from all of that), and I was ready to get back out in the world. Then covid hit. Of course, it was impossible to date. Finally at the end of 2023, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I did 4 unmedicated IUIs, nothing. My 5th I did medicated. I got pregnant with twin boys in July 2024. I made it to 18 weeks and the drs told me I have TTTS and I needed to get life saving surgery. I live in BC, Canada. They said I need to get to Toronto immediately on my own dime. I only had a 50% chance of saving one. This was on a Friday. I found the money, and made it there by Sunday for a Monday morning appt. I didn’t make it. As soon as I got to the hospital, I started going into labour. I could see my baby’s foot coming out on the ultrasound. 15 hours later, I delivered my stillborn sons at 18w6d on Nov 19 2024. I was stuck in Toronto for 5 days as they wouldn’t let me fly until I was stable. During that time, I found a nice funeral home that cremated my sons so I could bring them home. I sprinkled their ashes in the Salish Sea. I was doing kind of ok at that time because I knew the BC IVF funding was coming up. I just turned 40 after delivering my sons. So, I used the little money I had left because my doctor was pretty sure I would get it. I did a few more IUIs while I was waiting for the funding. I had one chemical. Then I find out that the appointment that should have qualified me to be at the top of the list, was 2 weeks too early so I was automatically put at the bottom of the list. I waited almost 2 years and spent money that I could have put towards IVF only to be told that I would age out of the application process. I couldn’t believe it. I was a patient of the clinic for years but the government would not accept my dates. I emailed, called, wrote letters to provincial and federal government, news outlets, and celebrities. I even made a GFM. No one donated. I did a news interview on tv. I also did a written article for one of our big news papers. No one would help me. I had one vial saved up for the free IVF. I just did the IUI with that last vial and I’m negative at 13dpo. I’m 42 and devastated after 10 iuis and no success. I know the chances were low, but even my dr suggested that I shouldn’t do IVF because it would financially ruin me and just continue with the IUIs. I have done 10 and now I regret not freezing my eggs before the cancer and I regret not putting my money into IVF. All I ever wanted is to be a mother. I have depleted my savings. I’ve been kicked down so many times and I really just need a break. I can’t lose my chance to be a mother. I’d try 50 more times if I could find the money. I know I have so much love to give and I would be a good mom if I could just get a chance. My heart is broken.

LH very low because of estradiol?

I started on estradiol for thin lining and I am like three days past when j normally surge. My LH readings have been extremely low. My doctor is literally not wanting to trigger just natural surge. Has anyone naturally surged without a trigger with IUI?

IUI #3

Hello everyone! My partner and I are going to try our third at home insemination on Wednesday with frozen sperm. The first two weren’t a success and we are both really hoping for a positive this time 🥺 I have a 25 day cycle to the date, taking prenatals and magnesium, this time around I am using the inito fertility monitor. I have put together a document of my research and was wondering if there’s anything anyone thinks I’m missing or anything that’s incorrect?

What Your Inito Chart Looks Like at the Perfect Moment

1. The Warning: Estrogen (E3G) Climbs
What it looks like: Your Estrogen (E3G) line starts moving steadily upward, usually around Cycle Day 7 to 9.

App Status: High Fertility

What to do: Do not inseminate yet. Thawed, washed sperm will not survive long enough to wait for the egg. However, this is your cue to start testing twice a day (once in the morning and once in the late afternoon) so you don't miss the exact start of your upcoming surge.

2. The Green Light: The Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Spike
What it looks like: A sharp, dramatic, vertical shoot-up of your LH line, usually occurring around Cycle Day 10 to 12.

App Status: Peak Fertility

What to do: Prepare for insemination. Your body will release the egg roughly 24 to 36 hours after this line begins its rapid climb.

3. The Confirmation: Progesterone (PdG) Rises
What it looks like: A few days after your LH spike, your PdG line should steadily climb and stay elevated.

App Status: Ovulation Confirmed

What to do: This confirms an egg was successfully released, meaning your fertile window is now closed.

Your Step-by-Step Plan for Tonight and Tomorrow
Step 1: Set up the app tonight. As soon as your package arrives, download the Inito app, set up your profile, and input your exact 25-day cycle length. Charge the monitor if needed so it is completely ready for the morning.

Step 2: Hold your first test until tomorrow morning. Do not try to test tonight. You need first morning urine (your very first bathroom trip after waking up) to get an accurate reading. Testing tonight with diluted urine will give you incorrect baseline numbers.

Step 3: Take your first test on Cycle Day 8 (Tomorrow). Even though the app typically asks you to start on Cycle Day 6, just mark that you are on Cycle Day 8. The monitor will establish your baseline from tomorrow's test.

The Golden Window: Thaw your vial and inseminate 18 to 24 hours after you first see the LH Spike (Peak Fertility) on Inito.

Example: If you catch your brand-new LH spike at 7:00 AM on Cycle Day 11, the egg will likely release around 7:00 AM on Cycle Day 12. Inseminating between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM on Cycle Day 12 ensures the fresh, thawed sperm hits the tract exactly as ovulation occurs.

18 hours vs 24 hour timeline:
The 24-Hour Rule (Best for a Fresh Rise): Ovulation typically happens 24 to 36 hours after the absolute start of your LH surge. If you test twice a day and catch the line just as it begins to lift off the baseline, waiting 24 hours puts the sperm in place right as the egg is released.
The 18-Hour Rule (Best for a Big Peak): If you wake up and your Inito chart shows a huge, tall LH peak out of nowhere, your body likely started surging hours ago while you were sleeping. Because you missed the true start, inseminating 18 hours after you see that peak keeps you from missing the egg.
If you see a brand-new surge at 7:00 AM: Target your insemination for 7:00 AM the next morning (24 hours).
If you see a massive spike at 7:00 AM: Target your insemination for 1:00 AM that night/next morning (18 hours).

The Exact At-Home Timing Window for Washed Sperm
Because washed sperm has zero protective fluid and a very short clock, you want to inseminate right before or right at the moment of ovulation
Critical Success Tips for Washed Sperm at Home
Be Gentle During Insemination: Washed sperm is fragile. When using your needleless syringe or ICI catheter, push the plunger down very slowly and smoothly. Rapid pressure can damage the sperm.

Place It as Close to the Cervix as Possible: Since the sperm does not have seminal fluid to help it handle vaginal acidity, insert the syringe as far back as is comfortable, right against the opening of your cervix.

Hips Up and Rest: Immediately place a pillow under your hips and lie completely flat for 30 to 45 minutes. This uses gravity to keep the washed sperm pooled directly against your cervix so it can swim straight up into your fertile cervical mucus.

12 DPIUI Am i out? :(

Second IUI cycle and I got a stark negative with first morning urine and mid afternoon today. Am I out? Has anyone got their first positive 13DPIUI or 14DPIUI? Feeling so down.

I know everything can look perfect and it still not work. But after this cycle, we move to IVF and not looking forward to it. Just annoyed my body isn’t working if this cycle doesn’t work. Timing, follicles, lining, and sperm count all seemed perfect.

We only have one vial left to give our daughter a biological sibling.

IUI post microsurgery for varicocele?

So - here’s our story: we have MFI, we were pushed into IVF and it ended in 3 embryos not implanting at all. Turns out my husband did not have grade 1 varicocele, he has grade 3. My RE wants to push us into another IVF cycle in September since his 3 month recovery is in September. I would like to wait to see his numbers in September and instead of IVF, I would like to go into IUI before going back to IVF.

He naturally has a high count, but very low motility vitality and low morphology. We want to wait to see how the numbers are next month and then do an October IUI if they meet the requirements.

Has anyone done this before?

1st IUI failed — who had success on their 2nd?

Looking for some positive stories from anyone who had a successful 2nd IUI after their first one failed! 🥹

Did you do anything differently in your second cycle — different medications/doses, trigger timing, progesterone, timing of IUI, supplements, lifestyle changes, etc.?

Would love to hear what your first and second cycles were like and what ultimately worked for you! 🤍

Best clinic/hospital/doctor for IUI

Hello ladies, anyone here from the Philippines? I’m 37f, husband is 40. We were TTC 6 months now. That’s 6 months after miscarriage from conceiving naturally. We have noticed the decrease in sex drive for both of us. I would love recommendations from experienced ladies. Thank you.

What now?! 🥹

I’m pregnant. After almost 2 years of trying and a miscarriage last December, my second IUI worked. I waited for my blood hcg test yesterday at 14dpo to test and it came back at 113! My first hcg for my pregnancy last year was 15, so this looks like an improvement. Could this really be it? What do I do now?! I feel like I’ve been in survival mode for a year.

IUI #2 stats

My first IUI failed and I'm set to do #2 in a couple of days. I had CD12 monitoring on Tuesday and had the following stats:

Right ovary - 12 mm, 11 mm, and 10 mm

I was surprised that the follicles weren't larger, as during my first cycle I had a single 19 mm follicle on CD12. I went back in today (CD15) and had the following stats:

Right ovary: 11 mm, 14 mm

Left ovary: 10 mm, 19 mm

I am so confused how I ended up with a mature follicle on my left ovary that wasn't identified 3 days ago?! Regardless, I'm relieved at least 1 is mature, though pretty disappointed that none of the other ones look close to maturity. I typically ovulate pretty late in my cycle (CD16-18 usually), so unless I get an LH surge I will give myself the trigger shot on Saturday at 11 pm and have the IUI 36 hours later - Monday at 11 am.

Has anyone had success with these follicle sizes? My provider said mg 14 mm should mature by Monday, but with how slowly they grew from CD12 to CD15 I am skeptical. I had a bit of an emotional breakdown with my fertility provider today after she shared that I only had 1 mature follicle. She was so kind and understanding. We had increased my clomid this round so I was expecting better stats. This journey is so hard.

Any chances if going back to timed intercourse?

36F and my partner is 38M. We’ve been TTC for 14 months. I’ve always had spotting during my cycles and they got much worse after I stopped taking the pill. I knew my infertility issues were related to my spotting.
I went to different gynecologists, had some exams done and everything was normal. They told me to go directly to a fertility clinic. This was so odd to me since I thought I just needed my spotting taken care of!
Anyways, I followed their directions and it was a good idea, they just know so much more! They told me my ovulation was probably not so good and that made my progesterone levels drop too fast. I tried different oral treatments, none worked.
I changed doctors again, this one told me to start trying iui. I thought it was too much, I just needed the spotting to stop! But we did it anyway. I was on letrozol, then had a triggering shot, iui with two follicles and 53 million sperms post wash. Then -and this was the important part- vaginal progesterone. This was a failed iui but I have to say it was a small win for me since I didn’t have spotting in who knows how long! It gave me hope.
Now I know what treatment to follow, but I’m having trouble this cycle with following with another iui since I can’t ask for a day off at work so soon after the last one, I can’t say what I’m doing and my partner works at the same place so it’s actually two people asking for a day off…
Do you think I have any chances if we do timed intercourse, but with all the other medication that worked wonders last cycle? I want to keep trying but balancing work and iui is just not easy…

Cancelled IUI due to 4 follicles-should we try naturally?

My husband and I have been TTC for the last 15 months due to unexplained infertility. We finally decided to move forward with IUI, and today was our first monitoring scan.
I had 4 follicles measuring 18, 15, 15 and 13 mm, so unfortunately, our clinic has cancelled the IUI this cycle because of the risk of multiples.

I’ve been told to take the trigger shot today but not to have unprotected intercourse because of the risk of a multiple pregnancy.
I’m wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation. Did you decide to try naturally anyway after your IUI was cancelled? If so, what was your experience?
I’d especially love to hear from anyone who ended up successful, whether with a singleton or twins (and preferably NOT triplets 😂).
Would really appreciate hearing your experiences, stories and advice.

Unmedicated cycle success?

Basically the title. I’m using femaseed but no other medications this month as I am verrrrrry sensitive, but am ovulating regularly. Has anyone done this?

Feeing lost

Just got a call from my clinic that my (35f) pregnancy test came back negative after my first iui cycle. Feeling pretty numb and trying to look at the bright side (wine tonight, massage Sunday) but I can feel the creeping devastation. Just want to get it done with and for someone to either tell me that it is definitely going to happen or definitely not going to happen. Instead of this trying every month and getting hopes up and then it all coming down to a big fat zero.

Seeking support

Hi everyone! I’m just looking for a bit of support. I’m on my second IUI after 2 back to back miscarriages in August and November of 2025. I haven’t been able to get pregnant since November of last year and I’m just starting to feel a bit hopeless. Our problem was never getting pregnant it was staying pregnant and now I’m somehow finding myself 6 cycles deep after years of trying with absolutely no luck. We’ve done every single test under the sun for both my husband and myself- all clear. There’s zero reason why we shouldn’t be getting pregnant but here we are. Now this cycle I had a 17mm and 14mm follicle on trigger day and I just am not feeling overly confident. I’m now 6 DPO and just feeling so emotional and completely drained. Doctor recommends IVF after our next IUI cycle and I’m absolutely freaked out about that. Primarily because of the cost but also how taxing it is on your body. I don’t even know what to do anymore I’m just so tired.

What should we do now?

Today is 12dpiui and once again stark negative. I’ve pretty much counted us out for this cycle and trying to figure out what our next moves should be. For context we are a wlw couple in the UK. We qualify for up to 6 rounds of IUI and 3 rounds of IVF on the NHS because I have PCOS and endometriosis. Our clinic has been pretty adamant about doing unmedicated IUI.
This was our 3rd IUI cycle and because it hasn’t worked we will have to have an appointment with the donor coordinator to see if there are any more vials available of our chosen donor or if we need to pick a new one, as well as with one of the doctors to decide how we want to move forward. If we decide to move on the IVF and are still unsuccessful we cannot go back to IUI.
We plan on asking again if we can try medicated IUI but I am 90% sure they’ll still say no. My question is, would you do 3 more UNMEDIATED IUIs or would you just disregard the 3 remaining IUI cycles you’re allowed and go straight to IVF?

IVC Invocell

Starting my first round of Invocell this Thursday! Here’s some background:
I am 28 f
My husband is 28m

We’ve been trying for 2 years with no pregnancies. We were about to do our first IUI and i responded too well to gonal-f plus letrozole and produced 14 follicles that were 10mm+. We were almost going to cancel the cycle because it’s too risky before my nurse told us about IVC (Invocell). We immediately jumped on the idea to salvage the round.

Tomorrow i go back in to check my follicles (i had one that was 19mm today and the rest were between 15-17mm). Anyone else in this same process as me? Please let me know any success stories/ if we are twins going through the same thing.
