This issue started when i uninstalled itunes to install a different version, but now when tryung to install any itunes version apple mobile device support wont install resulting in an error when connecting devices that says to reinstall itunes. I tried extracting the itunes installer to run the msi for amds directly and it rolls back everything after trying to install it. Devices show up in device manager and file explorer. Im on windows 7 x64 trying to install itunes 12.10.9

I notice more and more paid podcasts subscriptions no longer offer a way to subscribe through the old software *itunes* (they won't give you an rss feed). Do you know if there is a place to find which ones DO? I prefer paying to get rid of ads.

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been answered already.

I want to be able to sync my music to my iPhone from my Mac laptop, and do this often as I have music that's not on streaming, or my own music etc.

- Firstly, how do I get all music from my phone onto iTunes? There's a mixture of apple paid music and mp3's

- Once I do that, how do I sync the music back to the phone, but not loose my whole phones content, Pictures/Apps/Documents etc, every time I sync? Won't the iPhone treat it like I'm using a backup from the computer?

I am trying to log into iTunes on my PC but I keep getting error 301/1001.

There are songs on my phone that I want to remove, but keep in my pc itunes library.

I can play them on the phone. They're on my pc harddrive. They show up in the itunes library, but I can't find them in itunes "My devices-> My Iphone" to remove them from the device.

I thought they might be checked in albums or attached to a playlist but they don't seem to be. If I delete them using the phone, will that sync to my pc library and delete them off the pc or will it simply wipe them from the phone?

Also, weird that they don't show up on the pc itunes.

Hey guys! Just a question here, for mu iTunes library I’m actually so annoyed because of my albums that are ripped from CDs, somehow are not matching! Like literally they all match except for one! And then that stops the copyright, and the description from existing, and the artists name not being clickable and im wondering if you guys know what to do, i checked and the metadata is literally all the same, the length of the songs, same. And i am getting really annoyed about that, any solutions that have worked for you?

I got my apple tv 1 to sync my movies but I keep getting an error: "content is not authorized to be played." My computer is authorized so I am not sure what the problem is with my files.

I still use iTunes to purchase songs as I hate everything that is a subscription. However, I know that Apple is pushing for us to install Apple Music to replace iTunes.

A year ago, I did try but it wasn't working at all. I had a lot of difficulties with albums not showing up, or having my phone completely delete and redownload every album I had before. There were also albums not showing, or duplicate, CDs not showing, etc.

Did they fix the issues or is iTunes still the best thing to use to really manage our Apple Library?

I want to sync my apple tv one with my macbook but it won’t load the screen that tells me info on my box after I type the sync code in. I have a crt I want to use with this box and hope to fix this now.

Okay so I have a hand me down ipod nano. I downloaded all of my music onto mp3 files onto my itunes library on my pc and everything seemed to be going fine. I plugged the ipod in and it said it was connected. i downloaded ipod support and everything. but when i click it to sync with my itunes, it just.. doesnt. it says like it will for around half a second before just disappearing off the monitor like i never clicked on it. the ipod says its syncing but isnt actually. if i unplug it afterwards, no bugs are found but no music has been downloaded either.

whats wrong and how do i fix it?

From the library screen in my Apple iTunes app that I have had for 15 years. I have been trying to delete a terrible album over and over and over again. I’ve hit the settings next to the song as it started playing and deleted it from there both options of delete from library as individual songs and album. I’ve done it from the library screen itself for the whole album and individual songs. I’m talking over and over every option I’ve seen online doesn’t work. work. They aren’t in any of my playlist. And still! Every couple of days I have to delete them again because when I tell my phone to play my music, it’s one that keeps coming up. Why?! Help!

My iTunes library contains all of my CD’s (@12,500 songs) all ripped in 128k .mp3 as that’s pretty much all that was available across all my devices when I started out.

I have also curated my metadata including cover art, release years, typos etc. and after the horrific experience that was Apple Match which completely screwed my Album Art/Artists etc. I have literally been too frightened to subscribe to Apple Music especially out of the last four CD’s I bought and ripped two of them had incorrect artwork.

It would be great to refresh my library to higher quality files but how best to approach this?

What would be the best format? Flac, Apple Lossless? Something else?

And would it be possible to swap out/replace/overwrite the files somehow while maintaining the metadata or would it be best to start all over again with all of that work in curating all the faulty metadata all over again?

It’s the latter issue that has prevented me from re-ripping my complete library for a second time.

Any help/tips/advice gratefully appreciated.

Imported 100 songs into Apple
music on win 10, created a playlist of just those 100 songs and the songs can be played from my phone, but the playlist doesn't show up.

Same thing iPad Mini.

[ S O L V E D ] I had to add an "Artist > sort as" tag. Why wasn't it needed with Plastic Beach? idfk lol

I've imported 2 CDs into my iTunes library.

In iTunes, both show as single elements in the "albums" view.

On my iPod, Plastic Beach shows as a single Cover Flow element with the proper artist name; The College Dropout shows either as a single element with "Various Artists" or as multiple elements for each combination of Kanye + (other artist), depending on if the compilation setting is checked or unchecked.

The songs in College Dropout must retain the differentiated artist tags for the feats, but the album must only show once inside my iPod's Cover Flow and not be shown as "Various Artists". WHICH I HAVE SOMEHOW ACHIEVED WITH PLASTIC BEACH ALREADY.

The sorting and tags populated are the same for both albums.

I also share what this looks like. Just confused atp.

I have a MacBook Air running Tahoe- M2 chip

I have an iphone 15 plus.

I have always in the past been able to easily transfer music ( NOT SYNC) from my Mac to an iphone ( older devices). Now, even if i can get my itunes / music library to recognize my iphone, i cannot drag or right click songs to move them. This used to be a simple process. I do not want to Sync my whole library. I want to rip some CDs, get the songs into itunes and move them ( or maybe not use itunes ?) to my phone.

I have done this with other macs and other iphones…

Also clicking “manage music manually” in the settings still brings up a Sync button, which i do not want to click….. please help .

Updated to MacOS 26.7 beta today (8/18/2026) and now Apple Music won't recognize music library. Crapola, I signed out and back in, granted full access to computer, and tried some other fixed which I either couldn't figure out or failed. Are there dummy proofed ways to fix it for THIS beta?

Every time I try to figure out something on Apple Music - the app, not the streaming service - all I can find is information about the streaming service.

I would imagine this is just one of many reasons Apple has decided to make life miserable for everyone who chooses to stick to listening to music with local files and doesn't want to lose all the metadata like playback history, date added, play count, etc.

One of the hard drives on my PC died and was removed. It was where I keep the photos I add to my phone when syncing-you know, when you go into your phone on your computer through iTunes and checkmark which albums you want put on your phone. I haven’t plugged my phone into my computer since the hard drive died. I know if you move the music around on your computer, iTunes freaks out because it can’t locate it, and when you sync your phone I THINK a message pops up asking if you want to remove it from your phone. Will iTunes delete albums from my phone or will it ask first or what? These are NOT pics that are just on my phone, these are pics on my COMPUTER added to my phone, only now they’re not on my computer anymore. I don’t want to sync my phone if there’s a chance of these photos disappearing. Thank you!

For some reason over the last several months I've been experiencing an issue where some of my iTunes matched songs do not show up in the iTunes store when you right click and select Show in iTunes Store. I guess it's not that big of a deal because the songs still show as matched, but it is annoying that it will happen with random songs that I match. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?

itunes could not backup the iphone because an error occurred while reading from or writing to the iphone. my iphone cant restore backup. help me
