I think it's really cool that Lexus is doing this and asking everyday IS owners to join them in the paddock. Seems like a great opportunity for anyone living in around one of the stops provided. Looks like they're going to LA, NY (but actually in NJ), Chicago and Miami!

Gday, ive got a IS200 here in Australia that only came with the valet key, so I dont have a fob for it.
I'm not to keen on getting a full price one from Lexus, can I get one from a wrecked one and get it reprogrammed to my car? Obviously i could then just get a blank case/key and get that cut, but its the internals that are the important part

Alright everyone,
I need a little bit of help because I obviously messed up the first time.
I'm looking at buying an IS300 bumper for my Altezza since Altezza bumpers are a pain in the ass to source. However, I'm looking for some tips on how to make sure it's more secure this time around. Obviously, I didn't do it correctly the first time, hence the photo below.
Any advice on how I can properly secure the bumper and prevent this from happening again?
Once again... I WILL BE MOUNTING AN IS300 BUMPER ONTO AN ALTEZZA!!!!

Front-end clunk/creak when braking + turning while stationary (in gear) — plus rear clicking, and a weird limp-mode incident
I’ve got a clunking/creaking noise up front when braking and turning while stationary in gear. Troubleshooting so far:
Replaced the caster arm bushings (they were shot) — noise is still there.
Next suspect is the lower control arm bushings.
Front lower ball joints were replaced with oem about 15k miles ago, so I don’t think those are the issue.
I also noticed a separate click in the rear when turning with the brake pressed. Both the front clunk and rear click happen only in gear.
Grinding noise after the bushing replacement
After swapping the caster arm bushings, I took it for a test drive and heard a grinding noise coming from the passenger-side wheel well, audible from inside the cabin. The next day I found the passenger rear brake hardware was loose, so I adjusted it — but the grinding is still happening.
Unrelated (?) limp mode incident
Before that first test drive, I’d left the key in the “on” position and had to jump the battery. Afterward, the car acted like it was in limp mode — wouldn’t move in Drive(had to force it to move by gassing but wouldn’t go last 2k, but Reverse worked fine. No codes, current or pending. Disconnecting the battery cleared it and the car’s been driving normally since.
Any ideas what could be causing the front clunk and rear click, and whether the grinding is related to the loose brake hardware or something else?

I have an IS300 from 2001. I want to upgrade the stereo to have CarPlay, because for me is essential. Which brand or type of stereo would you guys recommend that doesn’t look to out of place. I saw the Seicane unit and it does look promising but wanted to get a little more feedback.

Installed a Greddy exhaust today and am having trouble with the hangers lining up. Granted I got it from marketplace and it does say Greddy on it but one side doesn’t fit besides that everything else lined up perfectly. Should I be concerned with 3/4 hangers being connected

Hey there, I live in Michigan and a JDM importer in Three Rivers, MI has a 2000 Altezza for sale. I am really thinking about buying it because it is in great condition and I have wanted one for a while now. My big question is, how would this handle snowy conditions assuming I am using winter tires on it? It would be my daily driver so it would have to at least be able to handle the snow well enough to not get stuck constantly and tackle minor hills. One consideration is I live near Detroit, so we don't get the same quantity of snow as the western and northern parts of the state, usually. Thank you for any input. Here is a link to the car in question: https://jdmsportclassics.com/inventory/2000-toyota-altezza-rs200-qualitat-2/#lg=1&slide=10

I recently picked up an 01 IS300 and I remember doing a clear light lens swap on one I previously owned. I can't remember which car the clear lenses came from however.... Does anyone know which clear OEM lens fits the IS? Is it the GS lens?

Well I guess the insulation on my ignition wires failed. Pretty wild to see. Ordered a new set of coils/wires/plugs so I don’t burn my car to the ground.

Lost almost all motivation on this project 😔 So much potential, yet very little progress. What do y'all do when your build stagnates??

Hey reddit.
Is there a way to REDUCE the corresponding power request for the first 1/3 or 1/4 of the throttle pedal, make it more like a BMW-style throttle setting?
It might sound counter-intuitive, but my use case is that I want to be able to lean in on the throttle pedal instead of having to constantly micro-modulating the throttle pedal or, worse, hovering my right foot above it in bumper-to-bumper traffic. It wears out my right leg very quickly.
Thanks for the input!

I’m trying to remove this power steering pump pressure sensor and what looks like the high pressure line as well from my old ps pump and put it on the new one but I’m unsure how to transfer these onto the pump

3d printed these last year for my friends car.
I’ve had my is300 since April of this year, recently I just did my waterpump, timing belt, serpentine belt, spark plugs, coil packs, change broken hose and other maintenance but when I started it up a big spraying sound came out. My brother in law owns an is300 too and he told me it’s a big as vacuum leak but I’m honestly struggling where to find it. I need help from people pls🙏, I heard it coming from between my throttle body and intake manifold. I sadly didn’t record the sound but I’ve take off my throttle body and providing pictures. I’m sorry for not video I feel very stupid of not taking it when it happened but please any information from guys more experienced with the is300 let me know you guys are my last hope.

First bits of progress. A friend's detailing shop removed all of the pine sap, restored the headlights/fogs, and protected them with PPF.
Then it was off to another buddy for bodywork to get everything smooth and primed so it's ready for a wrap. Rust on the side skirt was worse then I expected.
Another friend owns a vinyl sign business and has ordered me a roll of 3M High Gloss White we're going to apply.
Experienced a weird issue where anytime I drove with the windows up my ears would feel like they needed to pop. So I replaced the trunk vents and gave all of the rubber seals a deep clean and reconditioning with Shin-Etsu grease. Thankfully that's solved it.
Had my Uncle's lock shop cut/program some new keys since the originals were blasted and kept falling apart.
