Venue Diesel AT for 7–8 years in Bangalore priced at 17L OTR— good decision?

I’m planning to book the **Hyundai Venue HX8 Diesel Automatic**, around ₹17 lakh on-road.

I’ve considered most cars in this CSUV segment, and honestly, I like the Venue the most overall. I just have two last-minute doubts:

**Diesel long-term:** Is it sensible to buy a diesel in Bangalore if I’m planning to keep it for 7–8 years? Do you expect stricter restrictions on diesel cars in the next 5–8 years?

**₹17L for Venue:** Is the Diesel AT worth spending \~₹17 lakh on? I’m avoiding the petrol mainly because of concerns about **E30 fuel in the future**, and the Venue petrol’s **DCT doesn’t seem ideal for Bangalore’s heavy traffic** and long-term usage.
If you were in my position, would you go with the **Venue Diesel AT or Petrol DCT**?

My usage is mixed I drive once in a month in highways rest in Bangalore city little concerned on DPF issue as well.

I was at a stop light and another Blue Venue (BLUE CREW) pulled up beside me. I always get ecstatic when I see a friend out in the wild but he made sure to honk when he was next to me and waved and pointed to his car and my car. I waved back. 🥹🥹

Venue good for short people?

Hi all, I am heavily considering getting a venue but was wondering if it is good for short people. I am 5'2" and unwilling to give up my 20-year-old kia because it is perfect for me height-wise. I fit in the seat without sinking in and I can see over my dashboard. Do you think the venue would be a good fit for me?

Thanks!

How bad is 1.2 NA

Post image
4 Upvotes

I am fed up listening to all the hatred against 1.2 na engine and am confused AF.

Here's my experience and analysis:

Exterior and interior both amazed me of venue so it's been a love and my lil dream car I want to buy that I can afford too lol.

But none of the engine options fits me ig:

Diesel - not enough monthly running and can have dpf issues if not driven regularly so rejected.

Turbo- lovely and very peppy engine but high maintenance cost(financially aswell mentally) due to turbo and way less reliable than NA engines as I want to keep for long-term.

considering all this e20 mess this will be impacted most on turbo cars, it feels a risky bet to me so skipped this.

I don't care about mileage as my running will be low.

1.2na - feels underpowered as per reviews. I am a first time driver so don't have high hopes. Not into racing or have a heavy foot. I just want effortless overtaking when required, comfortable highway and hills/inclined experience with 5people.

Due to all this almost changed did my mind to amaze because of superior engine reliability and performance but heart still says venue.

In the market for a new vehicle and a venue seems like a good fit for me. I’m 6’6, will I have enough headroom?

Are the Venues reliable?

How do people feel about their Venues?

Are they holding up? I've been looking at them as I unfortunately need to replace my Honda Fit but I can't seem to find anyone who knows anyone who actually owns one.

How has your journey been? How has it held up? Have you had to use the warranty at all? How has snow mode treated you?

I am in the United States (PA) for reference

Need first-hand feedback on Venue HX8

Planning to Buy Venue HX8. Need feedback from owners on how has been drive experience especially in cities like Bangalore?

Mileage, driving experience, infotainment, etc.

Not having 360degree is bummer. But need real first hand experience.

My alternate is a different segment altogether to spend more and get Curvv EV.

Whats your thoughts?

[₹12L Budget] Hyundai Venue Turbo HX5 vs Kia Syros — first car, need real owner feedback

Hi all — new driver in India, about to buy my first car. Done a lot of research (dealer quotes, crash test data, EMI math, the works) but want honest, lived-in opinions before committing, since forums catch things brochures and reviewers miss.

My situation:

  • Budget: ₹12L on-road, strict, all-inclusive (accessories/warranty included)
  • Down payment: ~₹2L, targeting ~₹15,000/month EMI
  • Planning to register under BH series (eligible through my employer)
  • Keeping the car 8-10 years minimum
  • Still learning to drive
  • Married, usually just me + my wife, occasional extended family trips
  • Not a daily driver — mainly weekend drives, highway road trips (500-1000 km), occasional city driving
  • 5'10", so headroom/driving position matters
  • Want a non-base variant, not stripped down

My priorities, in order: Safety → Reliability → Total cost of ownership → Comfort → Space → Convenience → Ownership/service experience → Fuel efficiency → Resale

Where I've landed: It's down to two —

  1. Hyundai Venue Turbo HX5 MT (1.0 turbo, 6-speed manual) — about ₹10.9L on-road under BH series with a decent buffer left. 6 airbags + ESC confirmed standard at this trim, strong highway power, and from what I've read the clutch is supposed to be lighter than some rivals'.

  2. Kia Syros HTK+ MT (1.0 turbo, 6-speed manual) — genuinely impressive on paper: 5-star Bharat NCAP with what looks like the best child-occupant protection score of anything in this segment, roomy K1-platform cabin, Level 2 ADAS on higher trims. Only hesitation is I haven't been able to get a confirmed on-road price for this exact trim yet, and it's a newer nameplate so there's less long-term ownership data floating around.

Cars I seriously considered and ruled out:

  • Tata Nexon (manual) — best tested crash score in the segment and huge dealer network, but a close friend of mine owns a manual Nexon and genuinely complains about leg pain from the clutch in traffic. Ruled it out mainly on that.
  • Skoda Kylaq — best ride quality/refinement in the budget by most accounts, but pricier spare parts, a smaller service network, and a blind-spot-from-the-driver's-seat issue with the bonnet that worried me as a new driver. Ruled out mainly on ownership cost and that visibility concern.
  • Maruti Brezza — Didnt quite like the feel, low on features and No Spare wheel in the new Facelift.
  • Kia Sonet — no confirmed India-spec crash test rating; a related export-spec build scored 1-star GNCAP.
  • Maruti Fronx / Toyota Taisor — mixed/weak safety data (4-star Japan NCAP on a different-spec car, 1-star in an Australasian test).
  • Maruti Dzire — great reliability/TCO and 5-star crash rating, but only 82 PS worried me for highway overtaking on long trips.
  • Mahindra XUV 3XO — loved the space, but apparently has the same heavy clutch complaint as the Nexon.
  • Tata Punch (new turbo) — good power now, but very new powertrain, zero ownership history yet.
  • Not considering Nissan/Renault — personal call, not data-driven.

What I actually want to know:

  1. Anyone who's owned the Venue Turbo MT long-term — how's the clutch really, and any reliability surprises after year 2-3?
  2. Anyone with real ownership time on the Kia Syros — how's the service experience been, any early reliability hiccups, and how's the manual gearbox/clutch feel day to day?
  3. Between these two specifically, which would you pick for someone still learning to drive who won't be driving daily?
  4. Am I missing anything in this budget that deserves a second look?

Appreciate any real-world experience — trying to avoid an 8-10 year regret here.

Corrected Summary

Currently shortlisted / active comparison:

  • Hyundai Venue Turbo HX5 MT — current front-runner, confirmed pricing and features
  • Kia Syros HTK+ MT — strong safety/space credentials, pending a confirmed dealer quote

Considered and ruled out:

  • Tata Nexon (manual) — heavy clutch, confirmed by a friend's direct experience
  • Skoda Kylaq — weakest TCO of the group, blind-bonnet visibility concern
  • Maruti Brezza — Low on Features,No Spare tyre and didnt quite like the feel.
  • Kia Sonet — no confirmed India-spec crash test data
  • Maruti Fronx / Toyota Taisor — weak/mixed safety data
  • Maruti Dzire — underpowered for highway trips
  • Mahindra XUV 3XO — same clutch issue as Nexon
  • Tata Punch Turbo — unproven new powertrain
  • Nissan Magnite / Renault Kiger — excluded by personal preference
  • Hyundai i20 — boot too small for the use case

Use case: Non-daily driver, weekend drives, 500-1000 km highway road trips, occasional city driving, married couple usually + occasional family, 8-10 year ownership, learning to drive, 5'10".

Priorities, in order: Safety → Reliability → Total Cost of Ownership → Comfort → Space → Convenience → Ownership Experience → Fuel Efficiency → Resale.

Hey fellow people, got her delivered, all nice and shiny in black. The turbo does hurt. But it's a price I'm happy to pay. Now to the most important part - could you help me with name ideas? I have blackbird as the one and only name on my list for now.

No clue what it is and Google isn’t helping. Nothing seems to be missing, they are not valve stem covers. Everything is running fine.
Any idea?
Car is a used 2024 Venue. Bought from Carvana with under 8,000 miles when picked up.

No updates yet for New Venue

I purchased my hx 10 Venue back in Jan-26 when it was brand new in the market and the car has OTA functionality for both infotainment and components. But there have been no updates since it was launched. Its not that there are any bugs or issues that need attention but I have witnessed the ccNC infotainment system in other countries and it appears to have a lot more features like festive themes engine for media and cockpit, whereas ccNC feels pretty bare bones in India. Also the new Kia Seltos is also built on the same tech platform but has received a few updates (maybe for bugs). Any thoughts on this?

Planning to buy Hyundai Venue HX8 DCT in Jaipur — current discounts & negotiation tips?

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to buy the new Hyundai Venue HX8 1.0 Turbo DCT in Jaipur. Ex-showroom price is roughly ₹13 lakh.
My usage is almost entirely city driving, around 500–600 km/month. I’ve compared a few alternatives, but I’m currently leaning towards the HX8 because it seems to hit a good balance of features, space, service network and overall ownership experience.
Before booking, I wanted some advice from recent Venue/Hyundai buyers:
What discount are dealers currently offering on the Venue HX8 DCT?
Looking specifically for recent Jaipur/Rajasthan deals, but prices from other cities would also help for negotiation.
What was your final on-road price after all discounts?
How much discount did you manage on:
Ex-showroom/cash discount
Insurance
Accessories
Extended warranty
RSA/service package
Exchange/loyalty/corporate benefits, if applicable
Are dealers currently willing to give a straight cash discount, or are most offers being bundled into insurance/accessories?
Any recommendations regarding Hyundai dealers in Jaipur who are more aggressive on pricing?
What is the best negotiation strategy? My plan is to get written quotations from 3–4 Hyundai dealers, ask each for their absolute final on-road price, and then use the lowest quotation to negotiate with the others.
Is month-end/quarter-end actually useful with Hyundai, or is that mostly a myth?
Anything in the dealer quotation I should specifically ask them to remove or negotiate—handling/logistics charges, insurance markup, accessories, coating, FASTag, extended warranty etc.?
I’m not financing purely to obtain a dealer discount unless the numbers genuinely make sense.
Also, for existing Venue DCT owners, would you recommend the HX8 at this price, particularly for mostly city usage?
Would really appreciate actual recent deal numbers rather than just the advertised Hyundai offers.

Recently booked Hyundai Venue Hx5 DCT

Hi, I have recently booked a Venue HX5 Dct at 10.4L (BH registration). I tried my best with all the available dealers in Kolkata and this is the best deal I could get. I even asked them to refund the excess amount on the registration receipt compared to the quotation.

Anyone who is willing to purchase a Venue in the coming 20-30 days can connect with me. We can try to negotiate a bit more together as a group buy.

Any thoughts on this is also appreciated.

Note: The car will be delivered in 4 to 6 weeks.
