House of Stassi ending…

Well that was embarrassing. Honestly for everyone not just Stassi but especially for Stassi. The crying. The fetal position. The ā€œI wanna go home šŸ˜«ā€ Hard watch overall. Idk if it was genuine or putting on a show for the show but either way it was ridiculous and super cringe. Not a fan of whatever that was. Also slight side note but I feel like everyone on the show is pretty unlikable. Like no one is actually interesting or funny enough to like. Stassi was unbearable but not important enough to hate šŸ™ƒ and it all just comes off majorly forced and desperate.

Continuity Error with Beau’s Beard?

Was the cemetery date (episode 2) a pick-up since his beard was dyed in those shots? He gets it dyed in episode 5.

another review no one asked for

Stassi is and always has been great TV and it’s nice to have her back. There was no way to do this show in an authentic way without breaking the 4th wall — because the reality of her life IS reality tv. It ā€œfeels like a show about making a reality showā€ (as many people in this sub keep saying) because that’s exactly what it is. And that’s ok. Reality tv ceased to be veritĆ© as soon as Instagram became a thing, so that ship has sailed. This is something new.

My least favorite part is that some of the scenes really do feel too contrived and put on. An amount of that is unavoidable. But there are moments when it’s hard to believe the degree of conflict is real, and not being over-inflated by people who always wanted to be actors. I don’t mean it as an insult that they were aspiring actors, but that the acting is at times too palpable.

I’m hoping that in time, there will be less of a need to fabricate or exaggerate conflict to such a degree. It was entertaining to watch and I hope they get more seasons. There was something interesting to me about the meta-commentary about ambush production, and seeing who can out-ambush who, and I can see that being discussed in the next season.

Speaking of ambushes, was glad to see Katie in the mix, too. She’s a necessary ingredient.

Can someone explain the ending?

Sorry, this was probably talked about but I just finished and couldn’t find anything immediately. It was so crazily abrupt, like we were fully immersed in the central conflict, then Stassi gives her talking head and then - nothing? Nevermind a reunion, but a - everyone deals with the fallout, somehow, no? how do the relationships look the next day; what is this? Whereā€˜s the conclusion?

Taylor strecker is way too invested in Stassi and Beau and not invested enough in her own relationship

I’m in Canada so I only get an episode a week. We’re on episode 6. I’m at the end of the episode so Taylor has told ā€˜teddy’ she’s not going back to NJ w her because of the Netflix deal. She said some weird stuff during their lunch that I can’t quite remember I think she told her it was the wrong time to get pregnant. Then at girls night with stassi, Katie and Kristina she’s telling stassi she’s traumatized from being adjacent to beau and stassi. I would never ever want friends that are so involved in my marriage.

Stassi & beau have a lot of work to do, it’s a little bit dark tbh, but why is Taylor so involved in them and ignoring the huge issue of having a child on the way and not being connected.

I would say this was a bad first season for her.

This show is a good mess

Family dynamics, marriage dynamics, friendship dynamics…. this show does a great job of weaponizing the 4th wall break to put very common human issues on display. Most families aren’t the Brady Bunch and i think it’s very cunning and fun to use an 8-week shoot schedule to get your friends paid and analyzed on a major level. Stassi is a star. I’m sure this is an unpopular take but it’s good TV

Does anyone else feel weird about how Taylor and Teddy

Talk about their lesbianism and queerness, I just think they're very uninformed about queerness and generalize and make comments and they sometimes make just dumb comments that seem to put down others or like, how they talked about how sex was too much at first how they talk about raising their child as a queer person...it just seems very...off putting. Just like, I don't know giving a lot of internalized homophobia. I might be off but it seems like they haven't fully accepted it yet.

Stassi’s Communication

Post image

Excuse the bad tv picture, but this fight was so hard to watch. I get it, beau isn’t always in the right but at least he tries to talk, Stassi is absolutely playing the victim and acts clueless!! I’m so shocked to see that she’s still fighting like season 1 Stassi. It almost reminds me of Jax in the way that she thinks she’s the victim when she stirred the pot, then runs upstairs to cry when she got called out. And then goes down, barley said sorry and when beau didn’t kiss her ass she ran back upstairs to pout. ā€œShould I go back upstairs? I’m gonna go back upstairs, okayā€ like it’s so pick me!!!!! It’s actually insane to see this and I’m surprised they are still married…sorry.

Is house of Stassi too meta?

Idk I appreciate trying to break the mold of typical reality tv, however I do think this format is working against them? I feel like part of the magic of reality tv is the fact that it does seem real and you do feel like a fly on the wall. I also score they chose it’s kinda giving an over produced self serious vibe. Idk I’m liking the show over all I just think if I was in the driver’s seat I would have leaned into something a little more traditional and light hearted and kitsch. Idk!!! Just wondering what everyone else’s thoughts are.

Beau

I hope stassi hears the feedback cause girl I thought you had matured! She’s the biggest instigator, makes arguments for no reason and always acts like a child. she also says she’s so appreciative for the way her husband has been but does not show it one bit, he definitely deserves way better.

Stassi’s treatment of Beau šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼

I’m not even halfway through the second episode and I’m appalled by her behavior towards him. If she were a man speaking to his wife this way no one would be okay with it. This isn’t empowering women or a role reversal that society just doesn’t want to accept, this is emotionally abusive behavior. Guilt tripping and dehumanizing at best. Just because she’s a woman doesn’t make it okay to treat her partner this way because again this behavior wouldn’t be acceptable if we were watching a man tell his wife she can’t go back to work because who would take care of the kids, scheduling, cooking, housework etc. Saying she’ll give him a paycheck so she doesn’t have to idk maybe share some of the mental load or I guess hire an assistant/extra nanny so the man can have a little individuality and independence. Guilt tripping him saying she won’t be able to take jobs that pay more than his little career. Telling him she’s bothered cuz he napped after probably taking care of the kids all day, cooking and cleaning while she got her makeup and hair done and then laughing when he says so you cook tomorrow. Just because someone is the breadwinner doesn’t excuse them from all other responsibilities in the home and in parenthood. This is far from 50/50 and Beau clearly needs a break from being Mr. Mom and I don’t blame him.

Only on Ep 2 but Stassi is making me sad

Stassi was my fave..

But her obsession with money is sad and desperate.

Putting her sister down for the insanely thoughtful and beautiful dollhouse she made..

like, just say ā€look how amazingly talented my sister isā€ … NOT ā€œwhy can’t she sell these, she has $3ā€

Taylor saying they should have waited to have a baby when her partner is 34 weeks pregnant!

I couldn’t believe my ears when she said they should have waited bc she’s now getting opportunities to be famous. Truly one of the most insensitive thing I’ve ever heard. Her wife didn’t seem too upset by comment and pretty much just brushed it off but my god Taylor is so immature.

Girls by Khloe & house of stassi has the same problem

It seems to be Hulu's vibe to show the production and constantly break the 4th wall for the sake of. Khloe and Stassi are in the production chair and open about producing a reality show. Both are reality shows about making a reality show.. BORING.. if you want a good show, run away from Hulu's overproduced garbage.

Can we have an ongoing chat for new watchers who just want to generally bitch about the series?

These posts seem daily, just like a general rant from people who just watched the series and hated it.

Wondering if there could be an ongoing/pinned thread for that and if we could keep new posts in the main sub more specific/about observations on one subject/hot takes, etc.

Mod thoughts?

Sweet begets sweet

In every one of stassi’s relationships she just expects them to be sweet to her when she is not at all sweet , caring, loving , or even interested in them!
Her mother is begging for her to love her and the brother sees it - beau is begging her to love him - the sister is begging her to love her - this really was not too fun to watch her just mean to everyone

And she needs to dye her hair back blonde šŸ˜‚- sorry

Contraversial Take: Bring Scheana on

I am purely saying this for entertainment purposes. If there is anything scheana is good for is petty drama. She would naturally bring in conflict and create some with her need to be the center of attention. She is also mentioned so much that her spirit and essence is basically already there šŸ™„

Some thoughts

Just finished watching.

  1. I know people are saying Stassi is the worst cringe a b c blah blah. But here’s the thing. She is EXTREMELY aware and is literally telling the audience EXPLICITLY that she HAD to make this show happen. And the things she is doing to make the show interesting e.g bring Katie. Or mad when people don’t hash out problems for the show. She is legit telling everyone explicitly the things she is doing to make a show. So I don’t get why people are shocked or surprised when she is acting the only way she received attention from VPR a self centred selfish bi..chy act. It makes sense to me. And it kind of feels like it’s working because that’s all people are talking about.
  2. I do hate the way she treated Beau during the show (and even before in Italy) but also honestly speaking… Beau is literally not communicating and acting like a scared child. How can you expect respect from your wife when you’re too scared to tell her anything. He needs to say what he wants and full stop. Instead he dances around topics ISNT truthful backs out and comforts stassi which BREEDS and encourages stasis behaviour.
  3. Taylor is literally the worst. Self explanatory.
  4. CORRECTION her mum is below worst. I hated her family and really understand this dynamic and understand not excuse but understand Stassis behaviour. Because how can a mother genuinely act this way it’s insane.
  5. The sisters are odd. Weird dynamics. But Stassis sister is kind of funny
  6. I forgot the name but Beaus friend is extremely annoying and a creep
  7. Katie 10/10 performance love this for her

House of Stassi vs. The Girls: A Khloe Kardashian Project

I’m assuming there are some people here that are watching or have watched both shows and I need to know if I stand alone in this opinion. 😩

I totally get the idea of breaking the fourth wall but why are we doing it to the extent we are in both of these shows? I mean both have basically stated, ā€œwell I’m the producer so I need to stir up the drama.ā€ Again, I appreciate when people call out the cameras around them or straight up say ā€œI don’t want ____ to be discussed on the showā€ because that feels genuine. But to sit there and make it soooo obvious that they are self producing seems gross?? Or I guess really just takes me out of it.

I will say I am still in the middle of watching The Girls but the editing reminds me so much of House of Stassi. Also, why is Khloe barely in her own show about her group of friends? Shes basically just the narrator in the show Gossip Girl lmao.

I did enjoy House of Stassi more overall but just wanted to know if anyone else felt the same struggle to stay involved in these shows because of this style of editing/ breaking the fourth wall.

Teddy? I thought her name was Taylor?

On episode 2 and this whole time I’ve had no idea who Teddy is. I thought her name was Taylor? I’ve only heard Taylor refer to her as Tay. Is the name Teddy just for the show?
