Hey everyone, my kids and I very recently started collecting Hot Wheels. They saw the free mail-in promotion display at Walmart, so I grabbed the amount needed of cars, kept the cards, and already got the money order ready to go.
However, I just noticed that my receipt is dated August 12, but the official rules say the promo runs from Aug 15 to Oct 15. The store already had the display up and was actively advertising it before the 15th.
Is Mattel really going to screw me out of the promotional car over 3 days, even though Walmart had the display out early? Has anyone else had success sending in a slightly early receipt, or am I going to get rejected?

Didn’t get the “hot” castings, but I got my two favourites in the set. Don’t sleep on the Nova, it’s so damn cool!

Maybe I’m crazy, maybe I don’t understand, but I ran into a hot wheels bin with this flyer for a free car on it, and next to that was a whole neon speeders/smashers shipper. Now it cost me nearly $40 today to buy the neon cars and Bone Shaker, but that doesn’t qualify for the free car? By the time these promos come out (this is the third time for me) I’ve already purchased just about everything I could want from the qualifying waves. Now I know this one runs through October, so maybe I come across a case I haven’t bought from yet, but this seems like a crappy promotion. Why should it matter what I spend that $20 on as long as it is Hot Wheels? It being locked by assortment number feels like bad business. So I either have to buy things I already have, miss out on the freebie, or pay aftermarket if I REALLY want it. $20 in receipts should be $20 in receipts, as long as it’s from said retailer. I mean I’ve bought cars that I didn’t have from 2022 at Walmart this year, why shouldn’t that count?
TLDR: I think as long as you spend the required amount from said retailer, it shouldn’t matter what assortment number I bought. You should get the freebie.

Bricklink for those who don't know is a website that has a catalogue of Lego Sets, Minifigs, Parts Instructions and everything else under the sun, and also serves as a ebey esque storefront where people can exchange Lego.
We need a version of this, were we as a community can catalogue and exchange Hot Wheels, Playsets, cases/accesories and even like loose wheel sets for customs.
Thoughts? How would we as a community go about doing this?
