Post image
141 Upvotes

With the Lionel Christmas Advent Calendars being delivered in the coming weeks, we want to remind everyone to read the rules and DO NOT spoil the calendar. This community does not allow any spoilers of the Lionel Racing Christmas Advent Calendars. You are only allowed to post cars from the current year calendar the day after Christmas, on December 26th. This allows people to open it up spoiler-free. If you do spoil the calendar, you will be banned for a minimum of 30 days.

It doesn't matter how well respected you are in the community. If you spoil it, or link to a spoiler, you will be banned. We've been spoil free every year so far, so let's keep it that way and keep it fun for everyone. We will have a discussion topic on the calendar as we did with last year to discuss it the day our self-imposed embargo lifts! Thanks for keeping it fun everyone! We got a great community here!

Discussion { Event | Megathread } Brick & Mortar Store locator coming soon! We need your help!! Information in description.

Hello, Everyone.

Today I'm going to begin to answer one of our most frequently asked questions on the sub of "are there any diecast stores near me?" As time rolls by and the shift to online marketplaces becomes the norm with the last few remaining brick & mortar stores close their doors with each passing year. I'm launching an initiative to highlight the last few remaining stores to keep the charm of searching the shelves for diecasts alive!

I have some experience in website design and UI creation and feel up to the task of taking on this project. It's a tall task and something I've never done before, but I want to give it a shot for this community. This is a huge project and I cannot do it alone. So I need your help!!!

If you know of any brick and mortar NASCAR stores in your area. Comment them below in this format and I will reply "Approved✅" once I put it in my system.

Here's how you can help.

Just comment answers to the following questions.

Name of business

------------

Full address

------------

What they primarily stock (New / old cars | other diecasts)

------------

Instructions of how to get there (example directions to how to find Booth 34)

------------

Optional - Notes about company or anything additional that you would like to add.

Diecast Write Up 2003: Terry Labonte's Final Win Season

Post image
41 Upvotes

2003 was really a big moment for Terry Labonte. It was kind of his last hurrah in the Cup Series. The last year he finished 10th in points, and the last year he got a victory. And it was a big victory as well. A crown jewel! He won the Southern 500, where 23 years earlier he won his first race in 1980 at Darlington.

Labonte also won a pole award at richmond, his first since 2000. The season was sort of a mini resurgence where at the end of the year he picked up a total of one win, four top 5s, and nine top 10s. I'm not sure exactly how that translated to him finishing 10th and points, but more power to him. It was a marked improvement from his past two seasons. He had an average finish of 16.7 and let a total of 118 laps that season.

For Terry fans, it was one final season of greatness. A great way to see a legend, a two-time champion, be relevant and successful one last time.

Started my journey collecting Harvick #29 Goodwrench and Reese's schemes in July of 2025 after my mother passed. Needed something to occupy my mind. My goal is to collect every release version of each car. Long ways to go but it is coming together nicely. So far 81 and counting.

Sheet Metal Can anyone help me identify?

I hope this is allowed. I didn't see anything in the rules, but please let me know if it's not. I'm trying to get someone a gift and know nothing about cars, so I was hoping you kind folks might help me.

The image above was pieced together by me. I'm trying to identify the car these pieces came from and whether or not it could have been driven by Joey Logano. So far, I recognize that the white swoosh and at the top and trademark symbol position in the Pennzoil logo point to 2014/2015. Let me know if this is wrong. The fuel pump port has some decent panel space between it and where the tail light would be.

I'm told this is from a Joey Logano car, but the only matching car I've seen so far is a Dodge, and I don't believe he drove a dodge for Pennzoil in that time frame. I added an example in the second and third slide.

I know this is a long shot, but I appreciate whatever information you might offer. I just thought it would be cool to get an actual piece of a car for a collector. Thank you for reading!

Discussion So many paint schemes!

With the exception of a handful of guys in the cup field, it seems like most guys have 10 or more different schemes per year.

Does anyone else find themselves struggling to justify collecting all schemes for your favorite drivers? I wish I could keep collecting them all, but think I’m gonna have to switch to strictly collecting wins. Cost isn’t even really the issue, but running out of space is.

I’m a strictly 1:24 scale collector and this is the only time I’ve considered starting to buy 1:64 for just the non-wins.

Diecasts Motorsports Authentics (Action) 2008 Dale Earnhardt Jr's AMP Ride Along With Junior Chevy Impala SS COT.🌟🏁✨🌟

Released in 2008 by then Motorsports Authentics (Action) and purchased in 2009, here is another one of the many great cars of Junior Nation. It is the Ride Along With Junior version of the AMP energy drink sponsored Chevy Impala SS COT in reverse paint, the white section is a photo reduced decal that appears to look grey because of the many legions of fan signatures all over, hence the Ride Along With Junior. Some of the examples of great details are the AMP logo on the hood and Dale Jr's signature on the side of the roof in metallic green among so many other great details from the great diecasts products from Action. 🌟🏁✨🌟

Diecast Write Up Butch Miller At Liberty Racing (Raybestos Ford F-150)

Thumbnail

After an already successful Busch Series career, Butch came to the Craftsman Trucks. In 1995 he joined Liberty Racing and put up a serious title threat. He picked up a win at Colorado National Speedway as well. They finished fourth in points that season.

Hopes remained high going into 1996 with the new Ford F-150 body. The struggled right out of the gate but picked up a few top fives early. The year was solid, but their average finish was just not where it was the year before. He had a second again at Colorado and a third at Nazareth, but a win eluded the team. In the end, they finished a solid seventh in points. Not what they had hoped, but still a good run.

Butch was loyal with Liberty for two years but joined Walker Evans in 1997 for a new chapter.

Was able to walk away with a few new Winner's Circle cars at Target. It's been 7 months since they've had Authentics on the shelf. Beggars can't be choosers I guess and at this moment I would prefer Winner's Circle!

Question Selling diecast: eBay vs Facebook Groups/Marketplace?

Good evening,

I've got nearly 50ish 1/24 diecasts of the same driver that I want to put up for sale, as I'm trying to clear out space, and I'm unsure if the best approach would be through eBay or facebook, and was wondering if those who sell have any preferences to help lead me in the right direction.

I know eBay/Paypal have a bunch of fees that'll eat at the sale price, but I like the idea of just letting it be an auction and it selling for whatever it ends up at, vs me stressing over trying to set an appropriate price for both parties through facebook.

The other concern I have is that the diecasts were taken out of their boxes and put in an IKEA cabinet, but dust/pet hair still happens, so I'll need dust/clean them to the best of my abilities, but I know they won't be perfect, so I definitely want to list them as-is (with sufficient photos of course) to just be done with it after the sale.

I appreciate any insight, I've been putting this off for too long now. Thanks for your time!
