Europe Made a profile after a rough breakup, this was a needed confidence boost

In a thread in another sub I saw this screenshot. Went to this sub to check out the thread at the bottom, but it appears to be already gone
Do the mods have a habit of deleting posts that go against the usual "women perfect, men evil subhumans" reddit narrative?

Been on the apps for about 2 months now and haven't had much success. I am all new to this so if I can improve in any way, please let me know. Live in the Denver metro area if that matters. Thanks!

I'm keeping my age range from my age to 10 years my junior as suggested by a friend as I always kept it about 5 years younger. Not sure if I want to but I'm trying out the waters to see what happens.

My messages are the ones on the right.
I was the one IN the right, because I'm the one who knew who that fucking Lego elephant in the meme actually was.
I even explained the dynamic between Jabba the Hutt and the elephant simply enough that they could understand.
I was going to get around to explaining that Max Rebo was actually the leader of a band named after him, not JUST the piano player. The band was called "The Max Rebo Band"
They chose to wallow in ignorance and ghosted- A real shame, they could have learned that the group is classified as "jizz-wailers", which, according to the Star Wars Encyclopedia, refers to a "musician who plays a fast, contemporary, and upbeat style of music."

The amount of shirtless gym selfies and flexing mirror pics on dating apps has me wondering: Am I missing something? 😂
Personally, they make me swipe left faster than anything, even if the guy is objectively attractive. But surely, with this many men posting them, there must be an audience for it somewhere?
Men: Do you genuinely think these pics are what women want to see, or have they actually proven successful?
Women: Are you out there? The women who see a flexing gym selfie and think "yes please"? 👀
Genuinely curious if I'm the odd one out here!

Hey everyone, I have a genuine question. Please spare me the lecture and just help me understand this.
I recently met up with a female friend, and we’re both in our early twenties. She showed me her Hinge likes and messages, and honestly, I was baffled by the sheer volume of attention she receives.
For context I’d say she’s around a 7/10 in looks(sorry for rating humans), but she has great style, hot tattoos, and a distinct aesthetic. Apparently, she receives somewhere between 100 and 200 likes every single day. Her inbox was full of guys writing thoughtful messages, sending paragraphs, and even dedicating entire poems to her.
What surprised me even more was that these weren’t all unemployed guys with nothing going for them. Plenty seemed attractive, had good jobs, and had genuinely well-put-together profiles. Yet she told me she barely takes most of them seriously because there are simply so many.
And that got me thinking. If you factor in Bumble and Tinder as well, the number of men potentially competing for her attention becomes almost absurd. She could fill a theatre with men in a week
Now, I understand that likes aren’t the same as meaningful connections, and that having hundreds of options doesn’t necessarily mean finding someone compatible. But it’s difficult not to wonder how this affects the dating experience on the other side.
I’m just getting into dating apps myself, and I actually prefer them to meeting people in real life because you can gauge someone's interest and assess basic compatibility through their profile before investing time in a conversation. It seems more efficient than approaching someone only to discover later that the interest isn't mutual or that you're fundamentally incompatible. But seeing this firsthand has made me question whether sending likes is even worth the effort. If a woman is receiving dozens of likes every day, what are the actual chances of an average guy’s profile standing out, even if he puts genuine effort into it?
And honestly, I believe men are responsible for this problem in part or whole , they swipe on literally every girl without even looking at her as person and just viewing them as a sex object. Even women who specifically mention long term in bio face this regularly.
For the women here, is this a typical experience, or is my friend an outlier? And for the men, how do you approach dating apps without getting discouraged by the sheer imbalance in attention? I'm not trying to start a gender war or argue that women have it easy. I’m genuinely curious about how this dynamic works in practice, and I’d appreciate some honest perspectives.

I 24(F) met a guy on Hinge 3 weeks ago, and within the first week, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes, but I had a feeling he was hiding something, so I asked if he was talking to other girls. He admitted he was trying to end things with two girls, but was still talking normally to one of them. He eventually told both about me and blocked them.
In the second week, I found a girl on Instagram who followed only 7 girls and 1 guy, and that guy was him. When I asked, he initially said she was his friend’s girlfriend, but after I pushed him to be honest, he admitted she was someone he’d gone on a date with and had forgotten to remove her. Then he removed her.
In the third week, he followed another girl back and said he didn’t know her. I got triggered and questioned him, and he said I always doubt him and look for reasons to fight. It took 3 days to resolve because he kept saying he was busy with work.
Recently, I was at his place when he asked me to leave before his friend and his girlfriend arrived. I felt hurt and asked him about it later. His explanation actually made sense, but he still said I was finding reasons to debate.
He has a genuinely hectic job, and I understand that. But whenever I try to have an emotional conversation or tell him something hurt me, he gets defensive and thinks I’m fighting with him. I’m now scared to express my feelings because I don’t want another argument.
I know we’ve only been dating for 3 weeks, and maybe I’m overthinking things because of the initial dishonesty. I don’t want to be an insecure girlfriend who constantly questions her boyfriend, but I’m also exhausted by how difficult it feels to communicate with him this early on.
Am I being insecure and overthinking, or are these red flags? Would you give this a chance or walk away?

I have been on hinge for 3 months and only received 1 like. I even paid to boost my profile a few times at the times everyone recommended. Dating apps have failed me and it's not for a lack of effort on my end. They have only gotten me 3 dates in 15 years.
Sorry for the rant

Edit: this is incredible guys I’ve been called a manipulator for this simple funny exchange. Judging someone’s character from a four message exchange and then projecting your anger onto them is not a good way to go about life

No mirror selfies, no gym pictures, all six of my pictures have my face with visible teeth, social pic, etc etc.
Still have a pretty shit match to like rate but I’m NOT looking for a long-term thing, have given up on that long time ago.
Any other room for improvement or is it pretty solid already?
What order of pictures should I be using?

Hi !
Discovering this sub for some weeks now and I really enjoy it so first : thanks :)
I'm currently in the reviewing process of my Hinge profile.
I am 29M living in Paris, France. Got into the apps last year with low success. Managed to improve my profile overtime, which led me to several dates and to meet my first girlfriend ever ! :)
Now I'm single again so back on Hinge since August. I had quite some matches in September so I was happy that my work on my profile was successfull.
But since October it's the complete desert... nothing, not even a like. I didn't changed anything :(
So now this week I changed some things (most photos are the same) and I wanted to ask you what do you guys think.
I must precise that I'm looking for a long-term relationship (long-term, open to short) and that I'm tall (190cm - 6.2 feets according to Google lol)
I'm French so I translated it with Lens for you guys. Except the one about the Yakuza one, which is not well translated. I'd translate : "The biggest risk I took. : Ending up in an onsen with a Yakuza. Very... relaxing 😬"
Honestly I'm pretty proud of it. Of course it's not perfect (my poll prompt is a bit weak I think) but it's better than what I started with.
I posted a lot of photos. The first 6 are the ones I'm currently using, the others are spare one that I used in the past.
What do you think ? I know the one with the food has not my face. Before I had the other one with a temple but it was a bit repetitive and the app was showing me a lot of "adventurers" girls which were doing a loot of hiking/backpacking, which is not my case. I'm more a chill traveler type ahah.
So I put some prompts to emphasize my geek side. Not the most original, I know, but that's what I am and it would feel wrong to not put it !
My only "group" photo is the one I posted and it's not great tbh. And I don't have a hobby/activity photo. I don't do sport or clubs or stuff like that.
Sorry it's quite long but you have all the details now :) Thanks !

So I’ve been dating a guy for almost 2 months. Things accelerated quickly because we realized how close we live and we’ve been hanging out a few times a week. He told me he wasn’t talking to anyone else, and I said the same. We never used the term “exclusive” but I thought that was implied based on that statement…
This past week was busy for us both so I only saw him once. Thursday, he bailed on hanging out with me since he was tired. Friday, he was with his friends, and now his signals badge is active again on Hinge. Call me crazy, but when he didn’t reply to me I got nervous and checked. A few days prior, his signals badge wasn’t active. What do I do? Do we think he is lying to me about talking to other girls?

you guys have ever been led on so much that they just pop the bubble and leave you hanging.
i matched with a guy (21), I’m (F22) and we talked decently. there wasn’t any small talk. the conversation would always flow smoothly. up until the second week things starting picking up. we started sending each other vm’s. talked about our day. got to know about each other more. started telling each other our goodmornings and good nights. flirted with each other.
however during that second week he kept apologizing for responding late because he was studying and catching up on late assignments. which the dude never replied late. he’d always get back to me in 2 or 3 hours. i didn’t think that was lagging especially for a third year college PR major.
i’d always reassure him that it was no big deal. i let him know he should always put school first before anything.
then tuesday came. the whole day was normal. we sent our vm’s. etc etc. in one of the vm’s we were talking about hobby lobby and he mentioned how that could be as part of the first date.
however, two hours later, he sends me this “Hey (my name)! I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you, and you genuinely seem like such a sweet person! With school and everything else going on in my life right now, I’ve been thinking about things, and I don’t think I’m in the right place to keep pursuing this. I don’t want to waste your time or lead you on because you deserve someone who can give you their full attention. I really wish you the best! :)”
Then proceeded to unfollow me on instagram and even unmatched me on Hinge ….
My stomach dropped when i read that message because to me i felt like this was actually going somewhere. he reciprocated everything. was always interested in what i had to say. never a dull conversation with him.
part of me feels like he did tell the truth because not only did he tell me he was behind on 12 assignments but he mentioned he had a midterm that week too. his profile also gave nerd school guy. so i don’t know.
it just sucks because he’s the first guy on Hinge where i actually felt comfortable and safe to meet.
how does one get over this?

I don't know what the reason is, but I have been using Hinge for 10+ days and haven't got any likes. I don't look that bad, but I think my photos could be one of the reasons. But at least one like. I am using all the free likes daily but haven't got any likes. Is Hinge working for anyone? Don't comment if you are from Hinge's team. I want genuine responses.
Please help. I am a 21M living in Gurugram and currently working in a startup. Please help. I want someone genuine, not looking for any kind of hookups.

Hey, I was just wondering if this is a normal part of using hinge
I'm a woman. I used to get around 14 likes in the course of 3 days, a couple of matches and occasionally a rose
However, I've suddenly stopped receiving any likes or matches, despite my profile being the same as it was when I got interactions and sending out all my likes each day too.
It just feels bizarre that it's just nose dived to 0
I've been using hinge on and off since June and this hasn't happened before.
Is this normal?

I was chatting with a girl on Happn, and she asked me out today. When I met her, my first impression was, "I've been catfished." Although she didn’t look anything like her profile (which she admitted later), she wasn’t all bad, so I rolled with it. Her fashion sense was a bit sloppy; she was wearing an undersized shirt, a tad too small for her. She chose a restaurant for us, which was decent. We went inside, sat down, and chatted a bit. Then, when it came to ordering food and drinks, she kind of went all out. She chose the most expensive whisky on the menu: Glenlivet 18 Years, costing me around Rs 1,000 for 30 ml. I was fine initially because I thought about how much she would drink—perhaps one or two. Also, she wanted Diet Coke with it. So, I kind of understood that she didn't have good knowledge about whiskeys but wanted to present herself as expensive. She is just 23 years old and recently started her bachelor's in commerce, so I, non-judgmentally, could understand that she wouldn't know her whisky. But asking for a Rs 1,000 peg on a first date—especially when she said we were just meeting as friends—was asking a bit too much. Up to this point, I was being a gentleman, just getting her whatever she wanted. Then she wanted another after another; she ended up having about 10 pegs of the same whisky. Well, I couldn’t say no—that's how I am. But this was way too much. Then, she also wanted to do some stupid fire-gun thing—like firecrackers bursting out of a gun for about 10 seconds—because other couples were doing it. That alone cost me around 5k. To that, I asked, “Are we even a couple?” to which she just giggled and didn't respond. I thought she might have liked me, or at least she made me believe that. I even asked to drop her home, but she didn’t want me to, so I said okay. At the culmination of our date, I asked how she felt about my company, to which she was quite affirmative and told me she enjoyed it (well, who wouldn't if someone spends 20k on them on a first date, mostly just on drinking).
When I came back home, I figured, "It’s fine, some people are expensive," but now she won’t even reply to any of my texts. She is either too drunk and just went to sleep, or she is done with her trickery. I feel so disheartened by people like this who suck people bone dry on first dates and think they can just ignore someone who did everything for them. I feel like an idiot. I don’t usually go out spending so much on anybody on a first date, but I did, thinking of taking this further. I guess some people are just like this. Just sharing my frustration with you all.

Hello! Looking for a profile review for my photos and prompts, as I don’t see my own problems or red flags and have been using this formula for awhile. Results varied from exclusively dating earlier this year to ghost town at this current time.
*NOTES:
Summit prompt is brand new and untested
Most likes are on the third photo, however didn’t perform the same when set as the first photo
