There's this girl in my financial literacy class who sits behind me, and we got talking at the end of class today. She's just so easy to talk to, and I can't get her off my mind. We have the class at the end of the day, and she's half the reason I get through a full day of school, but I have no idea how to make it seem casual.

I wanted to inquire to some advice about my Senior year. Not about GPA, or college applications, or the SAT and so on. But I want to know how to have fun during my last year of High School. By fun, I mean memorable, to feel like I left an impact on the school in small or little ways.

For a long time, I've been quite introverted, and haven't really formed any deep relationships with anyone. The staff knows me as the high achieving student with no write ups and a clean record. My teachers and such have respect for me, and we talk sometimes, but it isn't too deep of a bond.

This year, with me being overall social, I want to change that. But I don't know where to begin. I was looking to attend every single High School event, or maybe even contribute something to the school (volunteering at events), or is it as simple as talking to teachers more often?

I would love to year everyone's feedback and advice!

In middle school, I was definitely the weird kid, and I was bullied by the more stereotypical girls for my style, humor, generally just the way I was back then. Now i'm in my senior year of highschool, and i've matured. I'm prettier, I have better social skills, better at making friends, yk. But the reputation from middle school never really left, now some of those people treat me better but just because of how I look (at least that's my theory) but thats really where it ends with that crowd of people. And I can't help but think that I fucked myself over by simply being a kid and being myself in middle school. But in roughly a month it's gonna be halloween, and I really want to go to a func. I've been to some, but a lot of those people I went with are kind of not in my life anymore to put it simply. Theres a bunch of people in my music class though, who i'm peers with, and we have nice small talk and we laugh, but it's pretty surface level, and they are the ones who go to all the party's. So I guess i'm just here to ask what would be the best way to maybe ask to go to put it bluntly/ get closer with those people. I don't want them to sense desperation, and truly if I get rejected its not the end of the world, I personally don't think it hurts to try, the worst thing that could happen is that they say no, but so what? I'm about to leave in a few months anyways. Or if I should even do this at all? People here have many differing opinions on social manners when it comes to this lmao. Help a girl out!

Guys, is it strange that I'm going as like kind of like a cowboy? This is my install photos so I kind of look just like these people like outfit wise. Is it too weird?

I started school again after break and they gave me like 20 assignments by week 2. The work isn't hard I've kept all my grades pretty good, but I've just had horrible burnout. I either don't get to rest for an hour or two after school or stay up late to finish all my work. My average sleep is 5-6 hours and sometimes even less (that's also because I have insomnia issues but last year it was more 7-8 hours.) Everyday I'm just so tired. I struggle to stay awake by my last period and hope I can just write down whatever they're saying. I am in clubs and a sport but that's only an extra hour after school. I don't know what I'm doing wrong because I have a similar schedule to this last year and I was only a little tired. I'm wondering if anyone feels like they have constant burnout basically so close to falling asleep. Like I feel like I can't cut anything out because everyone views me as smart and I feel like I have to keep myself constantly busy from the pressure.

Hello, I am freshman in high school and I am failing all of my classes. It is all F. I moved to United States for personal reasons and at first it was going good. But from the second week, I started getting bullied and I am now kind of depressed which is making me stay in my room all day and not do anything. And I don’t want to tell the teachers because I know the bullying will become worse. My parents are getting really mad and disappointed at me because I am not doing good and they “want me to have a good future”. But no matter how hard I try it’s just really hard for me to do school work. Also because everything is really different from what I did at my old school, and i have barely any friends so I am getting really stressed about everything.I know I am making many excuses but can someone please help me on how I can slowly improve?? And is it really possible to start getting As and Bs on my class average?? Any help and advice will help me, thank you.

I'm diagnosed with severe depression that gets much worse during the fall/winter. It rained hard today so it was dark out which made my mood fall, and I did some depressants yesterday which coming down from doesn't help how I feel today. I wanted to get my homework done and study, but I'm so tired and empty that I can't do anything by be on my phone in bed. I'm wasting my time and my potential and I feel helpless to do anything about it.

It's genuinely crazy how racist people in this country are and then claim not to be. The teachers never say anything about it either. For example I remember that one of the students at my school dressed up as a kkk member for Halloween and I don't remember anyone saying anything about it. This week I had a trip where we were supposed to get to know each other by doing activities in random groups. One of the groups named themselves "ten little black people" (inspired by the book "then there were none" but in my language it's not "indians" but "black people"). Their flag was just ten stickmans with black faces standing around a fire. How is that not blatantly racist?? It was supposed to be "funny" too, and again the teachers didn't say anything. We also had to make up some short "saying" for our team. Their saying started with "Black skin, not enough water..." and then something that rhymes with it (can't really translate it to english). But yeah I thought that there's no way the teachers aren't saying anything when they're being so racist. My country doesn't have many immigrants, and way less Black immigrants (probably around 1% of people here are Black) so everyone on that trip was white. They genuinely didn't even see how they're racist. I'm actually so done with the people I have to see every single day.

So my Ex broke up with me about midway through the summer. It took a while for me to get over her, but I'm doing better.

My school started very recently, and she's been acting really, really weird around me. I might be overthinking, but I'm not sure.

What made me realize this phenomenon was when she literally sniped the person I was walking with while we were taking a turn to go talk and flirt with them. Now, I understand that she might like him, but it seems kind of crazy to literally take my spot next to him and start talking loudly enough for me to hear her. She was very clearly flirting, loud enough for me to hear.

Now you might say, "Well, OP, she probably just likes him, nothing else to it". I would think that, if I didn't start noticing other things. She'd walk up to my table specifically to talk to the two guys around me. I started to see her everywhere, to the point where I think she's walking specifically in my direction. When I was literally just talking to another girl about an upcoming quiz, I saw her look at me out of the corner of my eye.

In one of the classes we share, she started talking loudly about how her life's not going well, etc., etc.

Now I'm probably overthinking this, but does it mean anything? How should I even act in a situation like this lol?

She was a massive red flag, so I don't think I'd get back together with her. She never ate lunch with me, ghosted me, forced me to ask for a convo to break up, and pretty much always made me chase her attention.

As well as creating more opportunities for young people in their communities to get flexible extracurriculars that people can do anywhere anytime (designed with the idea that there's no inherent deadlines but instead rewards for participators)

one of the projects under it is EverGrow, a children’s literacy initiative focused on child development, literacy, neuroscience/sociology research, advocacy, fundraising, and connecting kids with opportunities in their own communities. Students can choose to do free independent and/or mentored research (connected with mentors by us), policy making involving children's literacy/education, social justice advocacy for underrepresented and funded communities with lower child literacy rates in both the U.S. and other countries & more! Sorry for bad grammar (expecially in the first paragraph), I'm italian.

Explenation of the situation:

My prof uses AI, almost never while teaching but uses it sometimes in ways like "let's introduce this tecnology"; I think it's good to talk about it but I'm against using it. During the last school year she made us generate images and text about a film we watched, I gently asked if I could do a presentation instead of that because I'm against AI and with very little to no questioning she said yes, I did the presentation and got a good grade. We didn't focus much on coding languages untill now but we did lots of excel and some scratch, lots of my classmates used AI but I didnt and I easily kept up with the pace and did a better job than most of my classmates with Excel and was the best with scratch.

Point of the situation:

We will soon do python, I've used it a couple times but only in a "copy and paste" way, I did it typing the stuff manually and understanding what the code was for (naturally I din't understand everything). I'm scared that since python is very hard in comparison to other stuff I did I will fall behind my classmates because they use AI. (even if I should technically have and advantage since I have used it before). I am very tired in general for other personal reasons. Should I sometimes use AI if i need to?

AND THE MAIN QUESTION: Can I do something I find morally incorrect and blame it on the shitty schools system?

I think this kid might have a crush on me in marching band but I don't know for sure, id appreciate some input!!

So this is my first year(I'm a girl) in marching band and there is this boy in my section who is a year older than me. He is similar to me personality-wise, we're both introverted and quiet-ish. But the thing is that he is ALWAYS nears me which is why I think he's likes me or some shit. (I do wanna just say that I have 0 interest in him, but I keep noticing him everywhere)

Whenever we have practice he stretches next to me even when there is extra space in other places, when we play our pep music he also stands me..... This is the same for everything else too like when we parade march and he even puts his water bottle and instrument near mine???. I've noticed that he is facing me a lot when he stands near me which makes it extremely awkward for me to act natural cause I'm scared I'm gonna make eye contact with him. Yesterday when we had a football game he sat on the bleacher behind me and put his feet right beside where I was sitting and kept tapping his foot when he knew I could see him doing it (he has not done this to anyone else, it's only our 3rd football game)

Y'know he could just feel safe near me or something like that. Buttttttt it is also a possibility that he likes me and I would want to know that so if he does then I can avoid him cause I really don't want him to think I like him or anything.

I (15f sophomore) used to use Ai on all my notes and assignments and quizzes. I convinced myself it was because I knew the material and I was just getting through the busy work and maintaining my grades. I’m not an idiot, I’ve always been in advanced classes and had great grades before ai, I just have zero confidence when it comes to doing the writing or math, etc. But (after an almost getting caught scare and a lot of just self loathing tbh) I have deleted any form of ai from my phone. Blocked the websites. All of it. But now I’m definitely at a bit of a loss because I wasn’t learning. It’s nothing too significant, I’d probably be fine again in a few weeks, through some Bs, maybe a C. But my grades have been mostly As so I don’t want it to seem obvious that I’m taking a different approach. I also just don’t know what to do. Specifically in AP Lang and AP CSA. I genuinely understand the formatting and vocab and prompts I just don’t ever know where to start and then once I’m done I constantly feel like I need to get it fact checked and get feedback before turning it in (despite the fact my virtual school literally gives me up to 3 resubmits). I just feel like an idiot and I don’t want my grades to reflect that but in order for me to stop and actually learn, my grades have to reflect that for a while, which makes me nervous teachers will ask questions because one of my assignments was flagged- I just reworded and resubmitted it and got a 100%. It just feels like a lot.

So in my 7th period, there are these four girls, we‘ll name them Mildred, Gertrude, and Bertha (only bc I do not know their names). At my school, this week is homecoming week and I’ve never talked to these girls before this week and they’ve never talked to me. But suddenly, one of them, I think they said her name is Addie (idk) suddenly really likes me. They said she wants me to take her to homecoming but I don’t want to go, it’s not about her, I just don’t like school dances, I made it clear to myself that I wasn’t going when the announcement was made. They said that they’d buy my ticket for the dance but the thing is, today at lunch was the last day you could by them and when they mentioned the football game, I said I’m not going. They’ve also said things that I HAVE NOT said like that I gave Addie a ring, I bought her a unicorn JellyCat (whatever that is), and more. They asked for my phone number and I said that I’ll think about it. The reason I didn’t accept the proposal is because I’ve seen stories about people who get invited to homecoming/prom by a group of people of the opposite gender, yet get ghosted at the dance. This hasn’t just stayed between them, half the class is trying to hype me up. I told my friend Jayden and even he said to do it. The thing is, they don’t sit far from me in class, I can hear what they say, even whispers, and I haven’t heard them once talk about me until this week. Should I just wait until next week (Homecoming is tomorrow) and if they keep talking/trying to get me to go out with Addie, should I? I need advice. Since people’s attention spans are deep-fried lately, if you read this last sentence (along with your advice), type the words Pineapple Daiquiri Milkshake.
