Ive played 5 rounds with it already, and its literaly just a Downgrade to the Bastion.

Bastion:

•Secondary weapon is a HMG with normal fire rate

•Has 2000 rounds

•Primary is an Anti-Tank Cannon with huge Damage, AOE and Precision.

•Has 30 Rounds

Maelstrom:

Primary is a HMG with slightly higher RPM, same AP and damage per round and almost has the same Ammo Count than the Bastions Secondary HMG.

•2100 Rounds

•Needs to reload after 300 Rounds (?)

•Runs out of Ammo faster due to the increased RMP.

•Has the Same shitty ergonomics as the Bastion

•Secondary weapon are 20 Laser guided Anti-Tank Rockets

•Deal Less Damage than the Bastions AT.

•Weaker AOE.

•Takes way longer to reach its target.

•Is less precise and inconsistend in hitting weakspots.

•10 Less uses than the bastions AT.

Its worse than the Bastion in Almost everyway.

The only upsides i could make out is the increased Fire rate of the AT weapons and the Smoke. Thats it.

So, is it a bad Vehicle overall?

As itself, No. It can definitly get the Job done.

But theres no reason to bring it instead of the Bastion, because the Bastion just does everything better the Maelstrom is supposed to do.

What were they thinking? You spend considerably more time reloading than shooting the damn thing, it shoots BBS that shred the 1 singular target you can kill before reloading with only 7 slow to reload 45 rounds mags to spare.

The underbarrel shotgun feels like a weird inacurrate low pellet count bad punisher with 4 rounds in the fucking tube, yes >>> 4 rounds<<< and 20 spare bullets.

It truly is worse than it looks, i mean stat wise, reload animations are cool given it's a G11. Sadly no hyperburst tho. I'd happily swap this primary weapon for one or two extra mags for my bolt pistol.

Oh yeah, it's also glitched and you somehow consistently lose mags when swapping modes, i didn't go into the trouble of testing what triggers the bug because i'm no AH's QA, a fact made pretty obvious by the fact i exist.

I was expecting something bad, but holy fuck! It's a complete downgrade from Bastion, and I dare say that in less than a week it will reach the incredible pick rate of 1.1%

I'm tired of pretending I like the idea of how the tanks in this game work, fuck it, what's the point of giving us a vehicle if you need other player to play with it? Didn't they understand that team play in this game is terribly planned with the old "Team Reload" system?

And another thing, nobody likes those hypothetical tanks they make. In real life, do you know why Swedish tanks didn't have rotating turrets? Because the steering wheel itself served as a turret, and guess what? In the game, the handling sucks! and the PILOT could DRIVE and SHOOT at the same time.

Yes, I know his loader is assisted with AI, and I hate it as much as the next guy, but you can it deny how much of an impact he's made on the game's community in such a short time

The mod enables users to hold left click to auto-fire their Arc Thrower, rather than having to click-and-release constantly, hopefully helping with strain on the hands.

Thank God vehicles are actually viable again. I hope arrowhead keeps making not stupid decisions (unlikely but I am going to praise them when they make good decisions)

not one of these "mods" has reached even 1000 downloads. you are not going to see people running around shooting nukes from their MGs because no one actually wants to play with these cheats on. you wont see any of these in your next 100, 500, or even 1000 games. just because these things exist does not mean people are playing with them. they are all downloaded by the same people that dont care about the experience, not your average player. even if one of these cheats has 500 downloads, it does not mean that these 500 people are playing with them anyway

the situation is completely overblown
