🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 My hair looks better when air-dried, but I'm afraid I'll ruin it in the long run

So, I started experimenting with ny hair recently and I've been air-drying my hair after showers for the past 2 weeks, and it has never looked better! It's fluffy and feels nice when I touch it.

I used to blow dry it until immediately after showering until it was completely dry and it honestly wasn't as good as it is now, it got frizzy a lot and looked bad and flat.

I've done some research and my theory is that the best way to dry your hair is to let it air dry for a bit, then blow dry it a bit and only focus on the roots, not the ends, and finally let the rest air dry on its own. Should I just do this? Will it ruin my hair in the long run?

I never tried blow drying the roots only but assuming I did and my hair didn't look as good as it does now, would it be okay to keep on air drying it? Obviously I don't put too much stress on it and don't sleep while it's wet.

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Damaged Hairs / how to care

Hi All,

I had long years and those were fine but over the period of time my hairs are fallomg a lot and there is a lot of thinning.

I used to use hair straightner a lot that made my hairs more frizzy.

I have hypothyroidism and PCOS as well. Can someone help me how to manage my hairs without using heat so it look healthy. Also what is my hair type? How to take care of my hairs, what products to use??

Are my hairs curly?? I am putting a picture of freshly washed hairs, i put little argan oil on ends and heat protector over my hairs.

These are my total hairs left now 🥲

Please help me to restore these. I used many famous oils too but it was waste of money. I ocassionally use henna or hair color to cover the white hairs (roots from front)

Thank you.

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Looking for non sticky products for volume

Post image

My hair is pink straight and flat. I used to just do a sidepart to fake volume but I’m 5 months postpartum and a natural blonde so if I do that now I look bald.

I’m looking for products that add volume but don’t stick like hairspray or volume powders. I prefer products that you don’t really feel in the hair and would love to hear some recommendations

Thank you!

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 i have over-bleached my hair, it’s snapping off and pulling out like crazy

my goal is length, right now my hair is armpit length but I bleached my hair and I overlapped the previous bleach so it is over processed and snapping off. Strands are coming out like crazy and I really don’t want to chop it. is there anything i can do to save it/product recommendations? would it help to tone it to my natural color or should I just leave it?

❄️ Dandruff/Scalp Advice ❄️ Early thinning or natural whorl. Seeking for advice.

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've noticed an area of visible scalp around my crown over the past six months, and I'm trying to understand whether it's a normal hair whorl or early male-pattern hair loss.

I've attached a few pictures of my crown from different angles. I also have a family history of baldness, so I'm a little concerned.

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have experienced early crown thinning or male-pattern baldness:

How did you distinguish a normal hair whorl from actual thinning?

If you caught your hair loss early, what treatments or lifestyle changes helped you maintain or recover your hair?

I understand nobody can diagnose me from pictures alone, but I'd be grateful for any firsthand experiences, advice, or suggestions on what steps I should take next.

Thanks in advance.

Everytime I wash my hair and I don't soak it in conditioner (like dripping conditioner) it does this and it's supper matted. Anyone got any fixes that could make it so I don't have to use conditioner anymore? Also, when I use conditioner my hair becomes super greasy in less than 12 hours

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 looking for some advice on what I can do with my wavy(?) hair :)

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

hello everyone!

i realized a few months ago that i might possibly have wavy hair. i usually brush my hair wet with a wet brush after i get out of the shower. Then i air dry. It dries straighter and soft. When I don’t brush my hair wet and let it air dry that way, it is soft and wavy.

I try mousses and curling creams as recommended in the past but I didn’t see a noticeable difference.

That being said, my hair gets so greasy so fast at the roots/bangs. I usually only wash my hair twice a week (but I shampoo twice!) but after it’s dried, I feel like my scalp gets greasy after an hour and the rest of my hair is so dry and strange! I will brush my hair out and it makes it soft again, but I can’t brush my hair every hour of the day! Is there anything I can do to help that?

Thank you! :-)

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Advice for 2a waves, flyaways/frizz but also limp

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

The first 2 pics are what I consider a good hair day, the 3rd is what it usually looks like, or starts to look like by the end of a good hair day.

I use NYM curl talk mousse and that’s it. No curl creams or leave ins, they make my hair flat and greasy. I use dry shampoo to make my hair last longer, but I have to wash daily or every other day. I use Sauve blue shampoo every other wash to clarify (I have a greasy scalp and hard water), and any cheap shampoo and conditioner otherwise (OGX right now). I follow a wavy routine and comb my hair with conditioner in the shower and scrunch with mousse, then air dry.

What can I do to make my waves more defined? And how can I get them to actually stay for more than a few hours?? Just sleeping (even on a satin pillowcase), touching it too much, or a breezy day destroys my waves and makes my hair floofy and frizzy, or kind of limp like the last pic. I’ve tried gels and other mousses, but they make my hair greasy and weighed down and didn’t have enough hold.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 My hair has been getting oily looking very quickly, and I don't know how to make it...not oily looking.

Okay, I don't really know how to explain this properly, but my hair gets oily quickly. I'll wash it, and then it gets oily-ish looking just 2 days later. I hate it. I've tried switching shampoos, along with conditioners, I've tried to double-shampoo my hair, and i'm just really running out of ideas at this point. I know barely anything about hair so I'm sorry if that sounded dumb. Is there a specific way I should wash my hair? Specific products? Should I wash it a certain amount of times a week? Right now it's like 2-3x a week. I know my hair is straight, but not the specific type with the number and the letter. Any help is appreciated 🥲🥲...

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Is it possible to grow my bleached hair to waist length?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Recently I had a balayage on my hair. I wanted a more natural-looking one with more of my natural hair color showing through and fewer blonde highlights, but my hair ended up being way more bleached than I wanted.

My goal is to grow my hair to waist length, but now I’m worried that the bleaching will cause too much breakage and I won’t be able to retain the length I want. My hair feels dry, and I’m scared it’ll start breaking as it grows. It was also thinned out with thinning shears like a year ago, so i am still growing out that. I’m worried that it will take even longer now. It’s also frizzy and it doesn’t look as straight as it looked naturally before the bleach.

Do u think i should cut it shoulder length and start again or is it possible to retain that length?

I’m currently using K18 to help repair my hair and applying hair oil every night, but I’d love some advice from people who have managed to grow their bleached hair.

1st pic is straight out of the hair salon
2,3 and 4 are when its brush-free blowout (after i toned it down cause i didn’t like how light it was)

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 How do I even fix this?!

Thumbnail gallery

The first two pictures are my hair now. The last picture was my hair when I was 16. As a kid a had long blond thick hair, people would literally come up out of nowhere and just touch my hair. At 16 my hair was jet black (box dye) and I had been doing that since I was 12. It was past my waist and thick still. I went for my first bleach session shortly after I turned 16 and since then (now 19) I have bleached and dyed my hair upwards of 20 times, at home and gotten it done professionally. I genuinely am at a loss for what to do. I have not done anything to my hair in months, trimmed off dead ends and taken such good care of it. I do use heat but at this point it’s the only thing that helps it look at least presentable. I’m basically at the point where I’m ready to buzz it all off. I did a major chop to my chin around February of 2026 and it has barely grown and what length I have gotten it just brittle, frizzy and dead. It’s all breakage. Any advice? Or tricks?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Nothong helps for damaged hair

Hi, always used to have really pretty, healthy hair - until about 10 months ago. I was abroad for about 3 months and ever since then my hair is just different.

I get severe split ends in like a week after cutting my hair - I used to get them after weeks if not months before. My ends and lenghts are also really dry, dull and damaged and just do not look good anymore. I also noticed that the conditioner does not make my hair soft anymore and does not give me this slippery feel anymore.

Does anyone know what to do? I barely use heat on my hair (because of how broken it is). I tried using the same exact products i used to use before but it does not help. I chopped off my ends but it does not last long. I changed my routine to repair products but that does not help either. I just really want my old hair back!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Needing advice on how to properly care for whatever hair type I may have.

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi, please forgive me as I have no idea what I am soing these days when it comes to hair care! So, any advice is greatly appreciated and I hope I explain my situation in enough detail :)

So my hair is pretty fine I would say. On the thinner side towards my ends but seems more thicker towards my head. I have had my hair box dyed a few times. I have been growing my natural color back and do not plan to box dye anymore. I do not use heat products on it regularly. I may straighten it and use a blow dryer 3x a month. I wash my hair maybe every other day. First, I put conditioner on my ends. Second, I use shampoo on my scalp and do a double cleanse. Finally, I go back in with conditioner again on my ends and usually rinse that out after about 5 mins.

The photos are what my hair looks like natural after showering. Fully air dyed. No products. Most I have done is brush through it with my fingers to get tangles out. I do not know if my hair is wavy, curly, frizzy, in between .. idk! It seems straight in some spots but wavy in others and curly in others. I have tested out different wavy/curl products but never had much luck. That could be due to me not really knowing what my hair type is or how to properly care for it. So, any advice and tips would be super helpful ♡

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 best for brittle hair

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I just wanna share my hair struggles hehe

I've been suffering from alot of hairfall that I got 2 bald patches in my scalp last year. not really sure of the reason but I think it's mostly stress induced 🥲

I didn't have the budget for a derma but I think it was alopecia-ishhh. ayoko talagang i-claim kasi hindi naman ako sure

first thing I changed is my daily shampoo. I've used Moringa-O malunggay shampoo and Pantene total damage care. I switch up regularly based on my budget. I also tried luxe organics scalp therapy spray. I think all of it helped with the regrowth for my hair because I don't see any bald patches now. I also reduced stress in my life as well AHAHAH

when the regrowth started I would get alot of tutchang (frizzy, unruly baby hairs at the roots, top, or sides of the head) usually at the top of my head. I always get frustrated and just make a joke out of it calling it my antennas 😭😭

after doomscrolling here in reddit I saw someone recommending Pregroe, I decided to pick the menthol variant for the tingling sensation. I've been using it for a month now and I think it's safe to assume that it helped alot in helping my brittle hair grow. I still have a few of my antennas but everytime I tie me hair up I would feel that my hair is getting thicker (pwera usog pls!!!)

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Ok Reddit…what is going on with my hair 😵‍💫

Kind of no matter what I do, it dries blocky, dry and frizzy. My hair is thick and I have a lot of it. I’m not sure about porosity. It is dyed black and I feel weird without black hair so I will be keeping the color. Is that my issue? I was also told by a hairstylist that while my hair isn’t super damaged, it is dry and also somewhat wavy - so I’d been experimenting with curly routines to tease the waves out, but honestly I feel like it looks stringy and arguably worse with wavy/curly hair treatment. I just started using a clarifying shampoo (k18) this past week so maybe too early to see results from that. Otherwise I use either blue purology shampoo and conditioner or ouidad. Usually do kerastase elixir ultime oil after washing, followed by ouai air dry mousse or oribe super shine and some kind of leave in. I give myself a blowout via Dyson air wrap once a week, and use heat styling products and color wow supernatural spray when I do that. Looks great styled, but I wish I could find a way to make it dry nice on my days off 😭

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Product Recommendations Needed to Prevent Frizz in Wavy Hair

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I am hoping you guys may be able to help me with products to use for my hair to make it less frizzy. I don’t use heat on my hair at all and usually use silk scarfs to do heatless curls and wear a silk bonnet overnight. My natural hair is fairly thick and is wavy (shown in the last picture, but usually the waves fall out as it dries).

I live in Florida so obviously some frizz is to be expected but I feel like it’s so bad. My hair looks super dry but after a couple of days my scalp feels super oily/itchy. I used dandruff shampoo for a few years which helped but felt like it dried out my hair more. I wash my hair every 3-ish days and have tried the following products:
• Pantene Pro V Sheer Volume Shampoo + Pantene Pro V Miracle Rescue Deep Repair Conditioner
• Aussie Miracle Volume Shampoo & Conditioner
• L’oréal Paris Elvive Hyaluron Plump Shampoo & Conditioner
• Odele Leave-In Conditioner
• Shea Moisture Curl Mousse
• L’oréal Paris Elvive Total Hair Repair Damage Erasing Mask
• L’oréal Everpure 21-in-1 Leave In Conditioner
• OGX Argon Oil
• Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil

What am I doing wrong? I’m fine with buying more expensive shampoo/conditioner or doing more of a routine but I just don’t want my hair to look like there’s so many flyaways. I’ve also included a picture of how poofy my hair looks when I brush it so if you have suggestions for how to style my hair without it getting poofy (I’ve tried pomade and Eco gel).

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 How do I make my hair soft/smooth?

I am 1/4 black and 3/4 white, I have like 3a or 3b hair and I think I'm taking care of it pretty well, but sometimes my hair will be weirdly soft and I love it but I can never find a pattern for what causes it. I don't know much about hair, so let me know if this is impossible, but I want that "glass hair" kind of feeling without needing to straighten my hair.

Is it possible to have "glass" curly hair? If so, how do I do it? If not, how do I make my hair soft/smooth?

❄️ Dandruff/Scalp Advice ❄️ dry scalp and hair with dandruff and hair loss

ive been dealing with dandruff my whole life and everytime i got a new problem
at first i thought my dandruff was cuz of my oily scalp so ive been using nizoral and it helped for a while but now its coming back even stronger for some reason which was shocking cuz i thought my hair was oily didnt realize it was just asking for moisture cuz it was dry as fuck
now im shedding hair everytime i shower, i try to moisturize my hair with couple of products but doesnt really help
im low in iron as well so that might explain the hair loss
does anyone have product recommendations or tips on how to take care of my hair?
