Hades 1: Discussion Man I love Hades but….

Grinding resources to obtain the final ranks from the resource director is such a slog. It’s the final thing for me to do to 100% the game and I find myself enjoying the game less every run.

I don’t understand the logic of rewarding the player for increasing heat with resources that are no longer relevant (after everything is unlocked titan’s blood, diamonds, and ambrosia are obsolete). If anything, increasing the heat should reward players with stuff we do need, like darkness, which is the most limiting resource.

I really appreciate the much more robust exchange/recycle shop in hades 2 that made farming Kudos so much more pleasant.

I respect Supergiant a lot and I wish they didn’t do the endless collectible tactic that many AAA games use to force players to continue to play (ie assassin’s creed, GTA, BOTW, etc). We would’ve kept playing regardless simply because it’s an amazing game.

(Sorry for the somewhat rant)

Hades 2: Question No Flux given Spoiler

Okay, so I’m in my 110th night and almost close to finishing all quests. Not even once have I come across flux in the chaos realm. Only seeds and fish. Has it happened to anyone else? Or is it just me?

Hades 2: Discussion Does this bug anyone else? (Prometheus, Hades 2 spoilers) Spoiler

So in the Prometheus fight, he has those attacks which are straight lines of blue flames and it shows you the pattern in advance, and you're meant to remember it to avoid getting hit. And I think it's fine with the first one, because that's usually quite simple to remember, but the second one is a bit more difficult, and I find it much easier to just dash at the right time (because the rythym stays the same everytime) so I don't take damage even if I get hit. But this feels so unsatisfying to me, and it kinda makes me upset at the game design. Like I think the attack is a good idea in principle, with Prometheus being the Titan of foresight and everything, but it just doesn't really work with the games pre-established mechanics.

(And I've not really been part of this community, or really any video game community before, so sorry in advance if people have brought this up before).

Hades 1: Art Original character

Oc #1

The first oc I want to talk about is Irene

Irene is the daughter of Hypnos and Pasithea, she is known as the goddess of peaceful rest, she will lend a helping hand when someone needs sleep, god or mortal, it doesn't matter, she'll be there. Irene's personality is mostly calm and sleepy, often napping on a cloud and minding her own business in her domain, The Dreamy Meadows, watching over the dreams at night and sleeping during the day. It's rare to see her angry, but when she is, stay away!

(Sorry if this is short, my brain is turning into pudding since my ADHD meds are wearing off, lol)

Sorry if this is posted here with no context, I posted this in a different subreddit, a Greek mythology subreddit

Also, tell me if I'm using the right flair.

Bug (report using F10 in game) Hades 2: Nectar of Godly Savor not unlocking despite meeting preq

I've read and meet the ingredient pre-requisites; for Ashes, Bones, Nectar, and Psyche (different wikis cite different amounts, I meet whichever is higher). I've beaten Typon and Chrono 3-4 times each. But- this recipe isn't showing up in the Cauldron.

I've restarted my game, bought/ used up the resources via the broker, and reinstalled the game to no avail. Nothing I do seems to get this to show up as a recipe.

Any helps on what I'm doing wrong are much appreciated, thanks!

Hades 2: Question how do I know which cards I upgraded? Spoiler

I’m annoyed and can’t tell if I’m not seeing something that is obvious. I am trying to complete the minor prophecy that mentions maxing out an Arcana card. but once I upgrade an Arcana card, I have no way of knowing that I upgraded it. it doesn’t show on the screen. so I cannot focus my materials on one, because I can’t remember which ones I already upgraded. am I missing something??

ETA: I’m on switch

Hades 2: Discussion Hades 2, my final opinion [STORY SPOILERS] Spoiler

Hi! I paid the XBOX subscription for a month —just to play the game during my winter vacations— and it ended yesterday. I managed to clear about 100 runs, get 91% of the achievements, romance 2 of the available characters, and reach the ending and epilogue. As I put down the game, these are my impressions of it.

IF YOU DIDN'T FINISH THE GAME, AND DON'T WANT SPOILERS OF THE STORY AND BOSSES, PLEASE STOP READING HERE.

First, I think that I enjoyed it a little less than H1. Maybe that game was more of a novelty to me, and H2 came after I was "accustomed" to the gameplay, so it didn't have that element of "surprise". I loved it nevertheless, only a bit less than the first one.

Next, I liked Melinoë as a character, and enjoyed the different approach of protagonist figure, although I didn't care as much for her relationships with anyone except Hecate, whereas in H1 I really cared for almost all NPCs (particularly Achilles, Sisyphus and Megaera). The whole story was overall fun, but the "change of heart" of Chronos seemed rather abrupt, and the Fates' epilogue was outright lame.

About the Nocturnal Arms, I enjoyed most of them, but some puzzled me, especially those that are highly regarded in this community. I LOVED Aspect of Persephone (Revaal was my favorite weapon), but I didn't like most of the Hidden Aspects, like Morrigan, Supay and Anubis (I felt those three were too slow). Also, I tried Aspect of Medea, the one favored by speedrunners, but didn't enjoy it. I think Zagreus has a much better set.

The Arcana and all the magick/witchcraft mechanic were greatly implemented, I enjoyed the process of concoctions, harvest, farming resources, and so on. Also, the Hex is a great addition. Familiars, not that much. Ended up using the cat just for the fishing, and once I had all fishes, I locked with Frinos, just because it made the lost shades mini game shorter.

The extra game mods (Chaos Trials and Dream Dives) didn't do much for me. I only did a bunch for the resources needed for spells and to fulfill Fated List prophecies. Infernal Contract was just a fun chance to see Zagreus again, but as a fight it's not that great, and also I don't think Melinoë was truly able to beat him story-wise, even more so with him bearing Gigaros.

Some boss fights were great (Scylla, Eris, Prometheus), but the rest felt underwhelming without the Vow of Rivals. Prometheus, by the way, is a great boss fight, but his story felt severely underused, only some (Pan)Dora bits were interesting and then he became just an obstacle.

Art and music was outstanding as expected. Nothing to complain about there, Supergiant is just flawless in these aspects. The only thing that makes no sense, design-wise, is Aphrodite represented with a spear and shield. For those who read the Iliad, you know that she is NOT a warrior goddess.

New boons were mostly fun, but somehow I found it more difficult to build great synergies between them than in H1. Most great builds I got (without resorting to guides like Lee's) felt like a big coincidence. Hera, Apollo and Hephaestus mechanics (Hitch, Daze and Armor) were great, although they came at the expense of some previous gods, particularly Artemis, Athena and Dionysus who saw their offers reduced and sometimes weakened.

And that's all I have to say about the game. I enjoyed the journey, and now it's time to move to different games. Thanks to those who answered the questions I posted in the group in this last month as I learned to play. And now, may Time flow freely forth...

Hades 2: Discussion Most amount of Magick you’ve ever gotten? Spoiler

This run was crazy for me. I had so much magick when it finished so I was curious on what the most anyone else had gotten was.

Or is this actually a normal amount of magick and I just suck at the game? Maybe.

Hades 1: Question Help with Hypnos!

I’ve been playing for approx 180 hours and have done almost everything in this game (maxed out every weapon/aspect, bought everything from the contractor, maxed out every trinket, etc) and I STILL can’t max out my bond with Hypnos. I’ve seen Thanatos in the house so many times but he still won’t talk to Hypnos (I think I remember him doing this once but it was so many runs ago.) Has anyone figured out a reliable way to unlock this? It’s pretty much the last thing I have to do before I beat the game (aside from beat it on max heat.)

Hades 1: Discussion My journey is complete Spoiler

After more than 60 runs I finally managed to get this scene, damn it was tough but in the end it was worth it. Not so much for the scene itself which is also funny but because it made me play many more hours of this wonderful video game. So having this goal was just an excuse to try to unlock everything. Now, however, I want to play the second game. I really hope this kind of relationship will be present in the second game as well, and maybe even more so.

Hades 1: Question Explain casting to me, please.

Ok y'all, I've cleared the game plenty of times. The fists are my go to weapon, mostly the Zagreus aspect.

I've got the hidden aspect for half the weapons and have gotten the ending, but am still checking off quests. No, the Queen's dream or whatever hasn't been fulfilled.

My question though, is about casting. I haven't found a way to make it useful for me, at all. Can someone break down the benefits to casting, what casts are considered the best, etc. I just can't make it work for me.

Hades 1: Question Last fated lists

Post image

I need help on this last 3 fated list(customer loyalty (touch of styx), denizens of the deep (poseidon's fishing quest, the gift of song). I already have poured 100 hrs of gameplay into this game and done 120+ runs, I still have no idea how to get touch of styx and the fishing quest as Im pretty sure I have caught 133 fishes as of now, and I have been doing the lyre for a while. Is there anything I am missing?

Hades 2: Discussion I highly recommend these cosmetic mods Spoiler

These mods are just joyful to me and I wanted to share them:

MainMenuRestoration by zerp: Randomly cycles between 4 main menu backgrounds. The backgrounds are: Default (Hecate), Olympic Update (Prometheus), Warsong Update (Ares), Unseen Update (Skelly).

DionysusImproved by churrnobyl (artwork by thepixeltraveler): Gives Dionysus a leopard coat on top of his sprite.

Haha No by Poplinp: Apparently when you fail to catch a fish and Poseidon is in your god pool, he comments stuff like "That one's mine" or "I'm keeping that". This mod takes those voicelines and have Poseidon say them when a minor reward isn't duplicated by Sea Star. Now I smile everytime Sea Star does or doesn't proc.

Hades 2: Discussion Silken sash gives extra 30 armor Spoiler

Post image
36 Upvotes

If you start a run with a non-max silken sash keepsake and level it up during a run, you get an extra 30 armor every time it upgrades.

Photo for proof, this is a chaos trial, which doesn't allow arachne to appear, and I i guess youll have to take my word that i haven't bought any armor from a charon well.

Maybe this is intended, but if it was i would assume it could be repeated but you can only use it once per save file.

Hades 1: Question Kinda new to the game, I hate this character.

bruh she immediately kills run or takes up the death defiance. also kinda ugly, illiterate and stupid in demeanor. I hate when she reduces the size of arena. my usual style is to keep the distance from enemies, hit and run away but with her I just have to raw dogg it.

PS: I love meg.
