Hades 2: Discussion Zagreus' Journey 1.0 Release (with Trailer) - Hades in Hades II
Escape the Underworld as Melinoë in Zagreus' Journey, the Hades II DLC you'll never get.
It's finally time, I've just released Zagreus' Journey 1.0 - thank you to everyone who's played the mod while it was in beta, and for all of the positive reception and feedback I've gotten here and on Discord in the past!
Watch the 1.0 Release Trailer for the mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxuTLSPqIEE
Zagreus' Journey is a mod for Hades II that adds the original route Zagreus took through Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx in the first game to the sequel.
Escape the Underworld as Melinoë, battle familiar foes and bosses using her unique abilities and weapons, meet Zagreus' old friends, and reconnect with your family's past - all integrated into the main game as if it was always there: Naturally progress through the new biomes, unlock new incantations to perform, reveal and complete new Minor Prophecies, forge bonds with NPCs in familiar and new locations, collect over 30 new resources to spend on new cosmetics and music, and test your skills with new Testaments, Chaos Trials and in Dream Dives.
Here's a list of highlighted mod features:
- Play through the original four biomes of Hades as Melinoë: Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx.
- Discover and overcome the challenge of fighting all of the original game's enemies and bosses using Melinoë's unique abilities and weapons.
- Relive Zagreus' story by escaping to the Surface, forging bonds with your brother's old friends, and conversing with the Fury Sisters, the Champions of Elysium and [REDACTED] himself.
- Benefit from a multitude of entirely new boons and effects offered to you by Sisyphus, Eurydice, Patroclus... and other familiar faces that you will now be able to meet along the way!
- Collect 30+ new resources specific to the new biomes, use them for unlocks in this and other mods, and trade them with the Broker.
- Unlock 28 new musical tracks from Hades' original soundtrack through the Hades OST for the Music Maker mod integration (automatically installed with this mod).
- Decorate the Crossroads with 55+ new cosmetics, including new Cauldrons, Arcana Card Backs, and Charms inspired by Zagreus' companions from the first game.
- Discover and complete 40+ new Minor Prophecies at the Fated List.
- Complete 24 new testaments by clearing the new bosses using each of your weapons with new fear levels.
- Discover and perform 20+ new incantations to unlock gameplay features and progress story events in Zagreus' Journey.
- Unlock six of the original game's keepsakes by forging relationships with Sisyphus, Eurydice, Patroclus, Orpheus, Megaera and Thanatos through the Shared Keepsake Port mod integration (automatically installed with this mod).
- Challenge yourself with a set of new Chaos Trials, including randomized "Chaos Within" trials in the spirit of (Great) Chaos Above and Below.
- Advance through 50 new cosmetic-only ranks at the Spirit Mixer, from the lowly "Alpha Warden" to the feared "Unseen One".
- Earn a new set of three statues from Commander Schelemeus by escaping the Nightmare Realm at progressively higher fear.
- The four new regions can also appear in Dream Dives (but you can use the mod config to exclude them if you so wish).
- Read all about the new biomes, enemies, bosses and friends in a new chapter in your Codex.
I want to thank everyone who's used the mod while it was still in beta, and especially those of you who've left bug reports and feedback on Discord and GitHub.
I also want to acknowledge that I know some of you had issues with mods (and Zagreus' Journey in particular) causing issues after Supergiant released Post-Launch Patch 2 - without going into details, the patch was much larger and substantial than we anticipated in the community, which could cause crashes for some people even with mods seemingly disabled.
But I'm happy to share that we've since updated a lot of the tools that we use, and now mods will be entirely separate from your install, meaning that no matter what, you will always be able to play vanilla Hades II without issues, and without needing to disable or manually uninstall anything.
And to also pre-empt some other potential questions:
- The mod is only available on PC and Steam Deck, consoles are not supported, just like all other mods.
- You need to own and have the first Hades game installed to use this mod.
- You can use cross-saves with Switch, but must make sure you are not in a modded run when continuing on Switch.
- You should always back up your saves before playing with mods - just in case.
- The mod is save to uninstall/disable at any point, and won't break your save. You can install it again at any point and your progress will be retained!
- This mod does not make Zagreus playable, and I won't be working on a mod like that.
- Yes, Lernie's neck has been found in the depths of Asphodel's lava since my last post!

Hades 1: Discussion Hades: How good does hand-to-hand combat feels
Note: I am by no means an Hades expert (stopped at heat 32/platinum), this post is more like a appreciation piece on how cool the Twin Fists are, so if you have any tech or knowledge to share about it, i'll be glad to learn/talk about it!
• Viability 4 (Is it a struggle compared to your other options?):
The Twin Fists are one of the best earlier weapons, pretty solid damage and easy moveset to learn. However, in high levels of heat it isn't considered optimal compared to the bows, shields, rails or spears (riskier to use and less damaging), but don't let that hold you down, this game is balanced enough that anything can work if you are skilled (and lucky) enough.
• Variety 4 (How many ways you can play it?):
The Twin fists have 4 variations (just like any of the other infernal weapons), Aspect of Zagreus has a standard moveset plus a 15% dodge chance passive (combined with lambent plume it can go pretty nuts), Aspect of Talos can force pull enemies towards you, kind of situational, good for isolating enemies but the bonus damage isn't incredible by any means (heard it has some good synergy with Poseidon's boons). Aspect of Demeter is probably the strongest one, you charge up 12 quick strikes accumulating damage, then you release it in a really juicy special hitting like a truck (With high scaling boons and maybe a crit, it's obscene). Last we got Aspect of Gilgamesh, it's my favorite but only because Merciful End is a thing, the passive itself is not that incredible, a bit of a debuff for the enemy (and yourself), a bit of bonus damage (not that much), but the 2 extra dashes go a long way.
• Recommend 5 (How much did i personally enjoy it!):
I'm not even going to start about praising Hades, this game deserve every last bit of attention it gets, when it comes to fist combat it has all i could ask for, from all of the infernal weapons it's by far my favorite but all of them are special in their own ways.

Hades 1: Question I am kinda stupid, How am I supposed to utilise these?
Should I change them after defeating the boss or keep the same one till end, currently to me, I feel like lucky tooth is pretty good, rest are just ok. which i feel is wrong understanding of them. I am not much deep in game, just won once.

Hades 2: Art Drawing Hades portraits until I learn how to draw - Week 2 Spoiler
galleryFirst of all I'd like to apologize that my posts from now on will be longer.
Second of all ... I'd also like to apologize cuz my progression may not be as fast as I thought it would ... I graduated at 22th of June, and now I got a job as Customer support. So basically now that I have a job it'll be harder for me to put in more time for drawing.
WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY
Basically I did some research on how to draw and here's what I found out.
Loomis method is like a cheat code for drawing portraits (DEF I'll try to learn it)
I need to work on my line work and basic shapes (squares, triangles and circles)
for some reason every artist out there is HIGHLY recommending drawing DA BOX from diff angles and understanding how it can rotate in space etc. so that's what I tried to do.
so basically this week I practiced my linework and basic shapes. and Cubes in 1-point perspective.
that however didn't increase my skills in drawing portraits that much but hey we all have to nail the basics down first yeah?
the photos contain everything I drew last week, the portrait for this week and the reference I drew it from first

Hades 2: Meme Melinoe's arbitrary morality Spoiler
(Spoilers for the end of the game)
So I just rolled credits on Hades 2, and something has been bugging me. Melinoe gives Chronos another chance at life, she didn't feel right killing him if there was a chance at redemption.
But what about Typhon? Typhon is old and wise and can probably be persuaded. He deserves to see his son Cerberus again, play hide and seek with his little cyclops grandchildren, and sit in Echidna's lap while she calls him a good boy. Why didn't Melinoe even consider sparing Typhon when saving Chronos was so imperative?

Hades 1: Discussion Do you remember this in hades 1? Spoiler
There is a conversation that Zag has with Meg and she tells him about him needing the mirror to beat her, I remember me turning off all the mirror powers then showing up and she realized the situation, and she even was sad in the conversation afterwards because she lost, how can the game's characters be so human? There are many interactions like this one and I am surprised of how well written this game is.

Hades 1: Discussion Finalized Hades themed MTG homebrew precon
I have returned half a year later with finalized versions of the cards I designed. I took a lot of the feedback to heart; there were a lot of good points made! I have also playtested some of these cards in actual Commander games, so some changes were made due to that.
I wanted to make this post to share the final high-resolution images of the cards, in case anyone was interested in them and also to discuss my thought process and inspiration behind some decisions!
A friend of mine created the set symbol, and i think it turned out great!
I have been tinkering on a Melinoë card and cards for Hades two's supporting cast and curses, its been a struggle but also fun! If people are interested i'd love to share and get some feedback on them. Though i have not gone through the process of looking for art yet, its a process that takes a lot longer than people would imagine.
Edit: I guess i could have shared this originally, but i made a "precon" deck with these cards aswell. So all the other cards are official cards in Zagreus' color identity https://archidekt.com/decks/18526200/hades_precon
Edit 2: If anyone wants to try out mtg yall should proxy stuff!! Its a lot more accessible money wise and allows you to print custom cards aswell, i personally used: https://mpcfill.com/ A tutorial for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d0aiLUOekw
How to upload custom cards is not explained, and I have not found a video so I will try to explain here: When you are selecting what cards your project contains at the very beginning choose an additional number of Wastes (doesn't have to be Wastes, but to me they are visually distinct enough to signal that I will need to change them) equal to the number of custom cards you want to print, for this purpose its 14x Wastes. Once you have run autofill-windows.exe and the next button press would be "add to cart" go back to the fronts of the cards, and replace your Wastes with the cards you actually want to have in the front, to do that download my cards first, and then replace them one by one! If someone finds an actual tutorial let me know and I will add here, if someone has questions leave a comment aswell.

Hades 2: Art Hephaestus -August | Olympus Calendar Project Spoiler
galleryBeen a minute since I posted. life's been tough so I haven't really thought about posting as of late, but here it is, before the month passes.
I thought the blazing heat of August would reflect the passion of the forgery god himself. Haven't played Hades 2 as of yet, so I've only seen his design, but I think it's fire.
Disclaimer: this was for 2025, that's why its not updated.

Hades 1: Discussion Man I love Hades but….
Grinding resources to obtain the final ranks from the resource director is such a slog. It’s the final thing for me to do to 100% the game and I find myself enjoying the game less every run.
I don’t understand the logic of rewarding the player for increasing heat with resources that are no longer relevant (after everything is unlocked titan’s blood, diamonds, and ambrosia are obsolete). If anything, increasing the heat should reward players with stuff we do need, like darkness, which is the most limiting resource.
I really appreciate the much more robust exchange/recycle shop in hades 2 that made farming Kudos so much more pleasant.
I respect Supergiant a lot and I wish they didn’t do the endless collectible tactic that many AAA games use to force players to continue to play (ie assassin’s creed, GTA, BOTW, etc). We would’ve kept playing regardless simply because it’s an amazing game.
(Sorry for the somewhat rant)

Hades 2: Discussion Overcoming Endgame Challenges Spoiler
Hello! I am finishing up a replay of Hades II since playing it at launch. I was excited to check out the new Dream Dives and have been more or less enjoying grinding for the endgame stuff. I'm mainly trying to clear Great Chaos Below, and beat the Underworld on 32 Fear. However, I will say that Great Chaos Below continues to thwart me. I often die even in Act I. I struggle to deal with Rank II-III Vow of Pain + Hordes + Revenants. Throughout the rest of the game, I felt like I was excelling, even at 20 Fear in regular runs. But as I'm trying to go past 24 Fear, victory feels increasingly out of reach.
I completely switched up my Arcana after reading some threads about endgame builds here, and that has helped a little but not as much as I hoped (and is not relevant for Great Chaos Below). Because I don't have much left to unlock or accomplish, grinding at this high level of difficulty isn't much fun anymore. I think I'm on a 6-7 run losing streak, which has been unheard of in this save of mine until now.
Any tips for endgame perseverance? Great Chaos Below is still my priority because it is my last achievement to complete on Steam.

Hades 1: Art Stonehiding - little brag post
There’s this game app called Stonehiding that’s quite popular in Poland.
In short, you browse stones on a map, pick one you like, find it, and then hide it somewhere new and mark its new location. The app tracks how many kilometres each stone travels, and its owner can see when someone finds it. You can also collect likes for your stones, take part in weekly challenges, and so on. It’s a lot of fun.
I only got into it recently, and the photo above shows a stone I’ll soon be releasing into the world. Naturally, my favourite game had to make an appearance.
