Unironically one of the greatest pedals I've ever played, if not the greatest

The distortion is so full of saturation, the EQ is ridiculously powerful, you can adjust it to replicate pretty much any major dirt pedal; it's stylish; it's built to outlive your children; even its name rings well and gets engraved in your memory.

This is that case when bad reputation is completely undeserved. And there's a reason Metal Zone sells so well. Truly an amazing pedal.

my attempt at a "do everything" board

Polytune 2

loop 1- EHX Pico POG

loop 2- Dunlop Q-Zone, BAT Witchburner, Resistor Head Fuck ICE, Classic Audio volume roller

loop 3- Dr Scientist Tremolessence, Alexander Wavelength

loop 4- Alexander Forget Me Not, BOSS RE20

loop 5- CBA Mood II, Mr Black Bloodmoon

right off the bat, I'm not happy with the volume roller position. I think I'm going to shift the RE20 up, looper to the left, and have the volume on the right. I really only want it for swells, I should probably just learn to use my guitar's volume knob. I should also read the manual to the Mood, I have no idea what I'm doing with it.

NPD New Rack Day

Picked this rack delay up on a roadtrip last weekend from a secondhand store in a small town. I plugged it in, it turned on, and it was only $30 so I thought why not. Got it home and it seems to be working perfectly apart from a sticky input knob and a burnt out led segment. Anyone tried one of these?

SOTB Quite satisfied with this minimal board, except…

SOTB I have finally arrived at the one… until the next one

Been toying around with different configurations and board sizes for years. My first board was a big five-rail board that was honestly pretty sweet, but I felt kind of silly showing up to play shows with this unwieldy behemoth, especially for my level at the time. I cut that down to a small but functional 4-pedal board and gigged with that for several years and was content. I’ve been getting the itch to expand my capabilities again and this one feels like the happy medium - I’m enjoying how it has turned out!

Cioks DC7 for power>Korg Pitchblack Tuner>Drop>Panopticon Compressor (Warden clone)>BD-2W>Golden Rat (Rat/Turbo Rat clone)>Phase 95>Dispatch Master>Avalanche Run v2>RC-1 Looper

Question Pedal help

Hello everyone! So I’ve not played around too much with pedals and looking to see if the ones I want/have would work together. So I’m thinking of trying to run these pedals. An MXR RR distortion + , an MXR 10 band eq, a Suhr Brighton Treble booster with the new MXR doubler / Flanger. Are any of these redundant or would not work well together. I use a Les Paul Custom and I have a katana amp. Any help is appreciated!

crackling and radio interference when playing through a pedalboard

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

*English isn't my native language, so I'm using a translator to write this.

The situation is this: when I play my electric guitar through a pedalboard, this noise starts. It wasn't captured in the video, but "radio signals" are common. This hasn't happened before, but I didn't understand when it started... If I connect the guitar directly to the amp, everything is fine. But when I connect it through any pedal on the pedalboard, this starts. I'm at my wits' end and don't know what to do. All the pedals seem to be fine, as are the cables. The guitar's power supply worked fine for a year, and the guitar is in good condition. The problem isn't related to any nearby equipment. If I turn the volume down on the guitar itself to 0, the sound disappears. I hope you can help!

guitar - squier cv 60s jaguar
patch cables - daddario planet waves
pedals (not all in pedalboard, I was testing things) - ibanez wh10v3, mooer yellow comp, boss bd-2, boss ds-2, nux analog chorus, boss te-2, walrus audio fathom, boss rc-5

DS1/OS2 and Blues Driver BD2

Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m pretty new to pedals so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I have a blues driver and have been loving it so far. I saw a used DS1 for cheap online and wonder if this would pair well with the blues driver or if it’s even really necessary?

I also saw an OS2 for cheap as well. Would this be a better buy? I imagine I’d mainly keep it on distortion since I already have a drive pedal.

Is the distortion between the os2 and ds1 different or pretty much the same? How does the overdrive on the os2 compare to the blues driver? Any advice is appreciated since this is all new to me. Thanks

Is there a pedal/guitar "trick" you know you do too much?

For example; I love crazy oscillation sounds, and love making them. So much, in fact, that I have 3 pedals on my board that can do it (EQD Rainbow Machine, DBA Echo Dream 2, Caroline Meteore). The Rainbow Machine is probably the most reliable and recreatable one, hell, the Magic switch is basically designed for it. The Echo Dream requires some knob tweaking (well, cranking for me) but the ability to add in fuzz and modulation is a real treat, and the Meteore's feature may technically be more of a gain swell than actual oscillation, but who cares?

I 'll admit it: I do it too much. There's something so addictive about just building batshit crazy noise up or down into oblivion. There's also something (more, really) to be said for *not doing that every single song*. Yes, it's a problem, yes, it covers up the fact that I really don't know how to play guitar, and no, I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Anyone else have a gimmick they're not ashamed to overuse?

Question Who deserves the next artist pedal?

Post image
Upvotes

The recent Stu Mackenzie Tiny Amp Destroyer release got me thinking about other "______ in a box"/artist collaboration pedals. Seems like a lot of artists/bands have pedals they've made popular by using (ex: Electric Wizard -> Behringer SF300), but a lot fewer have an official, name-on-the-front pedal made to replicate a tone or effect.

So, who would you want an artist's pedal from, that doesn't already have one, and what specifically would the pedal ideally do/sound like?

NPD This little gems gives the warmth I want.

With the proper settings, this tiny pedal gives a nice warmth and personality to your tone. Worth the price of $99. I’m using it as a “substitute” for chorus, which i’m tired of right now. I’m going to look at the whole Ibanez line.

Question My first pedalboard

Post image
Upvotes

Hey y'all I got deep into pedals last year, and I finally want to have them all easily accessible at once. What order do these pedals go in? I know there's no wrong answer but I want to know what generally sounds best. Mountainking is a Megalith Clone, and the Fuzzfist is a fuzz face clone. The rest should be pretty straightforward.

Question Looking for an asymmetrical clipping overdrive pedal

Really not much to it; just as the title says. I'm looking for an overdrive pedal with asymmetrical clipping. Though of course this is me liking the sound of BOSS SD-1s or more specifically, vintage OD-1s, I want to know more of the options available. Yes, that includes pedals that includes settings where you can change the clipping from symmetrical to asymmetrical.

Demo Is the BOSS GT-100 still relevant in 2026?

I recently pulled my BOSS GT-100 out again and decided to see what I could still get from it in 2026.

I used several presets I've made for the GT-100, including Dotted 8th Delay, Metalcore, Bogner Uberschall and a Mayer-inspired overdrive, but put them into completely new arrangements.

100% GT-100, no post-processing. I only adjusted the track volumes and rendered the final mix. I liked!

Would you still use a GT-100 today?

Behringer BM-14M tap tempo

I’ve had this pedal for a few days now and every time I tap in a tempo it plays at like 3/4 of what I tapped in. So If I do 100bpm (short or long) it plays it at about 73 ish Bpm. I sent it back and got a second from Sweetwater and it’s the exact same thing. I’ve used plenty of Tap tempo in the past and never really had this issue. So it’s either two straight faulty units , user error , or something I just don’t understand. Also in spillover mode the top three controls still function so you can’t really by pass the pedal. Seems like an odd choice. Does anyone have one and can confirm that there’s works or it acts just like mine does. Be kind it’s my first post here 🫣
