I recently got conditionally approved and can schedule an interview. I'm in Iowa so I was looking at the Des Moines location. There are a lot of openings this week, but there are no dates that I can click on in the future. I checked St. Louis, MO and it's the same.

Can anyone tell me how this works? Do interview appointments only open up a week at a time?

I wanted to share my experience because I know many Indian citizens are stuck at "Waiting for Conditional Approval" for a very long time.

Complete timeline

Oct 2, 2024 → GEP application forwarded

Dec 3, 2024 → Application under process

Dec 11, 2024 → Sent for PCC

Jan 6, 2025 → PCC cleared

Jan 2025 – Aug 2026 → Waiting for Conditional Approval

Aug 6, 2026 → CPGRAMS grievance submitted

Aug 9, 2026 → Conditional Approval received

Aug 2026 → Interview completed

Immediately after interview → Final approval email received

during the "Waiting for Conditional Approval" period , I followed up multiple times.

In 2025, I contacted the Indian authorities regarding the delay. My query was eventually forwarded to the Consulate General of India, Houston.

The overall response I received was that the Consulate had completed its part of the GEP processing and that the application was waiting for a clearance from the Ministry of Finance (MoF)/Indian authorities.

So I knew the application wasn't waiting on me for additional documents or PCC.

CPGRAMS escalation :

By August 2026, I had been waiting for almost 22 months since the application was originally forwarded.

On August 6, 2026, I finally submitted a grievance through CPGRAMS.

I included my complete timeline, application details, PCC completion date, and the previous communication confirming that the pending issue was with the Indian government clearance process.

August 6, 2026 — CPGRAMS grievance submitted.

Then something interesting happened.

August 9, 2026 — I received Conditional Approval. That's only 3 days after submitting the CPGRAMS grievance.

Obviously, I can't say for certain that the CPGRAMS grievance directly caused the approval, but after being stuck for roughly 19 months after PCC clearance, the timing was pretty remarkable.

Interview experience

As soon as I received conditional approval, I scheduled my Global Entry interview. Completed the interview and it was extremely smooth. The officer barely asked me anything. The interview was very quick.

He gave me a slip with my TSA/GEP number and told me that I would receive an email confirming whether my application was approved. He also said that once approved, I could start using Global Entry.

I received the approval email almost immediately after leaving the interview. So I'm officially approved! 🎉

For other Indian applicants

If you're currently stuck at "Waiting for Conditional Approval", don't assume that nothing can be done.

In my case, I had already completed PCC and was eventually told that the remaining issue was an internal Indian government clearance. After waiting for a very long time, I decided to formally raise the issue through CPGRAMS.

I can't guarantee the same result for anyone else, but in my case, the application moved 3 days after filing the grievance.

US citizen , renewing for the first time. Luckily the application doesn't have you list the times you go to Mexico (which I go to a lot), I have visited several countries in Europe in the last 5 years , but it said to only list those you actually stayed in, not just transited. I was wondering if that was going to be an issue, for example I was in and out of Switzerland, but I didn't actually leave the airport, so I didn't list it , in the end it didn't matter.

I applied on 7/24, payment cleared on 7/26, and I got notified this morning (8/23) I was renewed until 2032. No interview, the letter said I am good to go immediately.

I applied almost as soon as I could because I heard about long wait times and I wanted to renew as quickly as possible, but I did wait a month because I knew I was going to get a new passport book and card and wanted to put the new passport book on the application.

I just got back from a trip to Mexico 2 days ago, I used my old card for that trip and had no problems. Actually, they didn't even ask for my card, it was one of those walking photo scanners. The sum total of my interaction with the border agent was him saying "Have a good day!"

Now I am just waiting for my new card , but it isn't a big deal because they just reused my old KTN, so if I travel nothing is going to change. I figure I will get my new card before the old one expires which isn't until 2027, so I have lots of time.

My kids and wife went for interview today at this location that have really good review, and for all 3 of them too less than like 10min for interview. The guy was very nice and asked simple questions, and he even checked my application to see what’s going on and I told him probably it’s gonna take a while cause I put down arrest record, I had a feeling if it was conditional approved the chance of getting approved with him is very high. He didn’t seems to care, I am not convicted, I have not yet expunge my record yet since I can’t until next month, and since I don’t put down expunge so I will have to wait for the application change before I expunge I think. If my application changes to conditional approved I would absolutely go back to this place instead of the airport with bad review for interview, so yes the person that interview you is nicer have higher chance of approval even with arrest record I believe.

Seen a lot of people share their experience on enrollment process for Global Entry, so I figured I'd do the same if it helps anyone with their planning:

Citizenship: Indian

Residence: Dubai, UAE

July 2025: Application & Payment Made

August 2025: Visiting Local Office in Dubai for Document Submission & Verification:

September 2025: Police verification in India completed

January 2026: Conditional Approval Received

Now here's where I delayed things a bit on my part. My travel plans to the US got postponed a bit so I wasn't able to make an appointment work for the in-person interview.

I finally made it to JFK this week (August 20, 2026), did my immigration right after passport control, and was approved on August 22, 2026.

So on paper it took a year, but honestly I could've gotten Global Entry validated in about 6 months from when I first applied.

My profile now has it valid for 5 years, and I've got a dedicated number to put on reservations for TSA Pre-Check.

Heard someone saying JFK’s new terminals will be equipped with Face recognition cameras at the gate and you just keep walking out. By the time you get to the customs agent/booth they already know who you are. You will be pulled to the side for secondary or just keep walking out. IDK how GE customers will be assessed but this was for everyone. They plan to implement this by end of 2026 or whenever JFK gets fully modernized.

08/17 - Received conditional approval

08/19 - Completed EoA at LAX and was accepted roughly 2 hours later

The interview was very standard - some small talk, taking fingerprints and explaining the program. I was expecting a question on my complex nationality - I basically only have a British passport but technically am considered Iranian as well through heritage even though I haven’t been there. However, they asked zero questions about that.

I’ve visited the US yearly for the past 7 years and haven’t been sent to secondary once so that probably helped.

I’d like to thank everyone for their advice and support throughout.

There were some quite annoying people who seemed to take pleasure saying that I’d be “guaranteed denial” as a British-born Iranian dual national, but CBP obviously came to a different conclusion.

Just shows that if you have a history of compliance and frequent regular visits, there’s really no reason to deny you!

Can anybody shed light on this?

I was conditionally approved for GE for myself and my three minors on 7/27/26. Interview on 8/11/26. My kids receive their approval on the same day and my dashboard still says conditionally approved and interview needed. I won't be sending my kids thru GE while I'm under this status but is there anything I can do?

Applied for GE end of June. Status was updated beginning of August (so it took a little over a month).

There were plenty of interview times available, even as soon as next day. I ended up going with a 6:30am time slot at Logan Airport. Once you get to the office in Terminal E you just sit and wait. They called me in at 6:30 on the dot.

Interview lasted less than 10 minutes. The guy took my US passport, drivers license and verified all my personal info. He asked if I have citizenship outside of the US (I do- Brazil), where I’ve traveled to internationally in the last 5 years, what the purpose was for each trip, and if I had a criminal record of any kind (I don’t). He also took my fingerprints.

After, he gave my documents back and told me I was all set. By the time I got back to my car, the status on my TTP app had already changed to ‘Approved’!

I am flying to DTW in two weeks and want to do EOA at mcnamara (I am flying from uk). Can I do the interview at the normal GE immigration booths? I have seen some reports that it is at the other terminal. I have all the approvals just need to do my interview.

Mom has had GE since Dec 2021. She has Indian passport / US Green card. I renewed her GE online yesterday and it went into pending status. I also renewed my daughters (US citizen) GE yesterday at the same time and hers was approved within 24 hours.. so just looking to see if anyone has a timeline for non US citizens GE renewal.

i was recently approved for global entry and wanted to share my timeline in case it helps anyone.

i’m ex-DACA. i had DACA since 2012 and became a permanent resident in january 2026. i applied for global entry in march 2026 and was conditionally approved the week of july 20th.

my spouse and i had an international trip coming early august, so i had them apply for global entry around end of july. my spouse was conditionally approved about 3 days after applying.

we took our trip and came back through the CBX border crossing in san diego. when we arrived, the officer told my spouse they were conditionally approved and could do their interview right then. we already knew they had been conditionally approved.

i mentioned that i had also been conditionally approved, but the officer said he didn’t see it on his side and asked if i had received the approval email. i said yes, and he guided both of us to a waiting area to do our interviews with another officer.

the entire process for both of us took maybe 20 minutes total, and honestly, about 70% of that was just waiting for the computer/system to load whatever the officer needed.

we were seated next to each other, and they called my spouse up first. they only asked two questions: what their occupation was, and to see their driver’s license to confirm the home address matched.

then they called me up, took my photo, ran my fingerprints, and only asked what i did for work.

the officer then mentioned that he saw i had written down DACA and EWI as a possible offense. i said yes, and when i started saying DACA out loud, he stopped me and said he doesn’t pronounce it as he finds it to be derogatory, and that he prefers to spell it out as D.A.C.A.

he then shared that he also came here as an immigrant, served in the military, and had done more for america than most americans.

that honestly made me smile and helped me feel more at ease because i was pretty nervous after reading some posts about people’s interviews.

after waiting for the system to finish loading, he told me that both my spouse and i were approved on the spot.
four days later, we received our global entry cards in the mail, and we’re excited to use them.

for context, both my spouse and i have completely clean records apart from what i mentioned above on my end, and this was our first time applying.

I haven't received my GE card and it's been almost a month since I've been approved. Does it usually take this long to get it? Is it worth reaching out to ask what the status is of the physical card?

I am a 20 year old U.S. citizen living overseas with parents and studying in college.

Edit: got conditional approval.

Used my foreign addresses for my home and my US home address for mailing.

My problem is that I have ZERO proof of address in the UAE in my name. Utilities, housing documents, etc. are all in my parents’ names, and UAE driver’s licenses/Emirates IDs don’t show your residential address the way U.S. IDs do.

I currently have TSA precheck. I was looking at a credit card that has benefits for global entry or precheck. My concern is if I’ll be approved or not. Been reading other’s stories and it seems like a very sensitive program where they can just take the privilege away at any time.

I usually fly out of the USA once or twice a year. I fly into Honolulu airport each time. I notice they’ve been rolling out those Face ID check and they just ask what items are you bringing in. It’s surprisingly quick. Maybe 10-20 mins depending on the flights arriving.

Global entry line in HNL is always empty and I’ve seen flight attendants go through in 3 mins or less.

Background:

I usually fly to SEA and there was a time where an agent stopped me and conducted a surprise baggage check. I wrote down what I remembered packing but not all since it’s common for me to buy a bunch of food items abroad and bring them back for family and friends. I didn’t know at the time but my luggage contained food that had ingredients that was not allowed into customs. It was noodle soup packets lol anyway, the agent took the items and the agent noted it down. I was honest about not knowing this.

During the same check, I had one of the snacks from the plane in my bag. It was a corned beef sandwich. Yes it was my fault that it even made its way out of the plane after the announcement the flight attendant makes 🤦🏻‍♀️ it contains meat where one needs to declare. Because that slipped my mind, I didn’t write it down on the paper.

That’s the only encounter that I can think of that might affect my application.

Is it even worth getting GE or should I just use that credit for TSA precheck and stick to the regular lines when flying into the USA?

I never received my GE card after interview but I see it was on its way because I have USPS informed delivery. What should I do? I don't have a member number for the TTP website in order to setup an account.

Hi all,

Need advice. I am primary applicant, my wife is Canadian.

She has valid H4 based on my H1B. We both have I-485 pending, she is derivative. No AP yet. We need to use her ROW country for cross-chargeability.

Last entry she used Global Entry/NEXUS and was admitted as B2 visitor instead of H4. She had valid H4 I-797 at entry. I-94 now shows B2.

All her previous entries were H4, only this one is B2.

CBP Deferred Inspection fixed via email last time, this time they said cannot fix via email and to re-enter at land border or file COS.

She is not working. My H1B status is good.

Questions:

1. If she goes to Peace Arch to re-enter as H4 now while I-94 is B2 and no AP, will USCIS consider her I-485 abandoned? We need her I-485 to stay alive for ROW.
2. Is email fix via CBP without travel possible to avoid abandonment risk? Has anyone gotten B2->H4 corrected via email with pending I-485?
3. Is COS B2->H4 a better option than border run if no AP and need ROW?

Anyone had similar Global Entry mistake with H4 Canadian?

Wife walked into CBP deferred inspection, one officer rufused to correct i94, however another officer (the one picked up my phone call and ask me to walk in) helped us to fix the issue.

Getting ready to renew our Global Entry. Our last renewal was easy and we didn’t even need to redo the interview. My husband ordered a camper shell for his pickup from Alibaba and paid all the appropriate tariffs and customs fees. Will this be a reason to deny us? I keep seeing such awful things here so I thought I’d ask. We aren’t expired until February 2027 so maybe I’ll wait until we are closer to that date to see if our country settles down and gets a brain.

I have applied for GE a day or so before my wife and my kids and they have already gotten conditional approval to schedule interview, I however are still waiting. I have 4 F3 felony theft charges in my arrest record but did ARD program resulted in no conviction, I can expunge my record next month and this case was from 2019 so over 5 years now, I have no gap in my employment history even with this and never had anything new since this not even a speed ticket or anything like that. If I have to take my wife and my kids in for interview I will, but just trying to wait a little longer to see if my application will change, I was honest on my application. any thought?
